  • There must be easily 50 ways to leave your LIVER :)

  • I love the Muppets

  • i thought this was "fifty ways to love your lever"

  • Honestly one of my favorite bands. Gotta love the Mayhem.

  • lovely stuff <3

  • Go Janice!

  • the Rat! the Rat

  • I don't know why I thought this was a real group when I was small. The power of that show. Jim Henson left a legacy that can't be touched. Very greatful for his vision

  • Love This Thank You

  • Funkiest. Bassline. Ever.

  • they should bring back the muppet show, kid shows these days are so lazy. the muppets are classic and i would love to see them on tv again

  • Why are songs about leaving a lover on a kids tv show?

  • @HeimdallTheFalcon

Simple, it's not a kid's show, it was intended for Adults infact the show aired at 8 pm.

  • @HeimdallTheFalcon

Oh, for Christ's sake... Why is such a comment below a Muppet video?

  • @HeimdallTheFalcon Go watch the Christian Broadcasting Network then to properly indoctrinate your children. I mean really, as compared to the pile of crap kids watch now? It's a Paul Simon song... one of the greatest songwriters of all time. I'm sure if this kind of stuff wasn't presented to me as a child, I would like the same shit everyone else my age likes.

  • @arielgirl529 You make a good point hoss. I, too, also used to watch the muppets as a kid.....I guess I always thought of it as a kids show. No need for some people to get so bent outa shape about it....Not pointing fingers or anything..... I I I I I I V

  • Muppets!!!!

  • Love Janice's "Ruuuuhlly" at 1:33

  • I love Muppet ♥♥♥

  • There's gotta be at least 50 ways to love your lever!

  • has anyone ever noticed how amazing the muppets songs are?

  • @ShadowontheWall11 most of them are covers, but awesome covers!

  • Are these puppets parodying real musicians or are they their own personalities?

  • @errOHneoS The all have their own personalities. They were running characters through the whole series.

  • "are you sure it's not 50 ways to love your leaver?......." hahahahahahahaha

  • the electric mayhem should be the half time show for the super bowl this year. :D

  • @gaarasuri I would watch the Super Bowl is the Electric Mayhem were the half-time show!

  • Lol! watched this about 7 times tonight hehehehe!!

  • fifty ways to love your leaver????

  • Electric Mayhem should go on tour along with Metallica...it will be my life concert

  • Did you notice at the end Animal tried to eat Rizzo. Typical Animal...

  • 50 ways to love your leaver

  • I'm right-handed but a leftie guitar player. Woo Hoo! I am a muppet - groovey...

  • 50 ways to love your lever? You'd go blind after about 38...

  • ok . peace.

  • checkmate

  • Sounded a little out of tune. The lines like "Make a new plan, Stan" ended on an unnatural high note for the last word (Stan in this case).

  • I wouldnt like this song if it was the original.

  • These guys rock!!!! I love muppets!!!

  • janice really reminds me of the mass production evas from the end of evangelion

  • is that lemmy kilmister on bass?

  • Rolfe: Are you sure it's not 50 ways to love your leaver?

    Floyd: Yeah.

for some reason, that struck my funnybone . . .

@ kissrev1 it's because the puppetteers are right handed, it translates to any muppet playing a guitar to be left-handed players- otherwise, it's too awkward for them.

  • @ShivaVixen Uh, he's "playing" that axe right handed.

  • @acr08807 If you're a right-handed person, then you use your left hand to hold down the strings and your right is used to strum it, if you're a left-handed person, then you hold down the strings with your right hand and use your left hand to strum. (I should know, I play guitar) Floyd's 'using' his right hand to hold the neck of the guitar, so that means he's 'playing' the guitar left-handed. (easy mistake to make, it's a bit counter-intuitive)

  • @ShivaVixen Holy crap, you're right. I gotta get my eyes checked. Or stop drinking. Sorry about that mate.

  • @acr08807 No worries (It took me a couple muppet episodes to realize it myself)

  • @ShivaVixen Yeah, but you didn't make an ass of yourself by publicly claiming the contrary. BTW, did you know that animal studied drums with Neil Peart?

  • @acr08807 Nope. Who's Neil Peart?

  • @ShivaVixen blasphemy! Floyd isn't playing a guitar, he's in the rythm section, he's playing a bass (a custom Fender Jazz I think).

But you are technically correct, both Janice (the only musician in the clip) and Floyd are southpaws.

  • this is AWESOME

  • Five people were looking for fifty ways to love their lever.

  • Looks like jeff baxter...:D

  • Mhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..does this song rock? POSITIVE!

  • whats the name of the muppet singing?

  • For sure.

  • Actually.....this muppets sung it better..phrase wise.

  • Okay.

Now I've without a doubt seen everything...

  • O.K. Hands Down___No Arguement___Best Band In The World!

    Don't Beleave me? HEEEEYYY!!! ANIMAL!

  • @RadioCannedMusic I say we have a contest with these guys and Jerry And The Monotones:)

  • Rowlf invented the whole in soviet russia comments: "are you sure it isnt 50 ways to love your leaver?"

  • Positive!!

  • Puuurrfecto!

  • Puuurrfect!

  • Yea, Floyd I love you. Don't use one of those 50 ways to leave me.

  • @Cuteblondie1972 u sure it isn't 50 ways to love your leaver? 0:53

  • 2 people where left by they're lovers

  • @IndexPro using one of these as the break ups ;P

  • @IndexPro three people love their leavers

  • Slippin out the back Jack doesn't work. I tried it.

  • I know the guitar player is supposed to be based on Janis Joplin, but she reminds me of Mary Travers from Peter, Paul & Mary so much.

  • I used to watch the muppets faithfully when I was a kid. Even at 36 I still love this show.

  • Animal playing this quiet groove... Priceless!!

  • 5*****

  • Hop on the bus Russ

  • When I was a kid I thought it was "fifty ways to leave your mother"

  • @colleenboye I usually left your mother with a few bucks afterward.

  • Too cute!

  • I like how Animal tries to eat Rizzo at the end.

  • VERY impressive perfectly placed tambourine cymbals by Rizzo The Rat on auxiliary percussion! Nice.

  • dude...this is better than the original!

  • What did he said @ 1:00? "sorry Paul" or "44" (reasons more)?

Anyway, the coolest version of this song! :-D

  • @IceIcebear it is "Sorry Paul". Paul Simon, the original artist was the guest star on this episode so presumably was watching from the wings

  • @IceIcebear "Sorry Paul" to Paul who is in charge of the leaver that pulls the curtain in the oldschool Muppet-theater :)

  • Are they really singing the word "lover"? If my child was singing this song, I would have to ask where they learned that song. If they replied, "Sesame Street", I would have to say, "That's what's up!" Yeah right!!!

  • @judithjjjj1064 The Muppets is not only a children's show.

  • just love.. :)

  • So much Love ....

    Karina xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Then Animal tries to eat Rizzo at the end.

  • Man even Animal couldn't handle this Steve Gadd lick on his own!

  • when they say "50 ways to love your lever" they're referring to a literal, actual lever that paul simon pulled and send pops into the basement in the cold open to this episode

  • \m/ my favourite video now - love your leaver \m/

  • Dr Bob: "I'm going to remove one of the patient's vital organs whilst mentioning a Paul Simon song."

    Gonzo: Terrific. "What's it called?"

Dr Bob: "50 ways to leave your liver."

(from the Veterinarian's Hospital sketch with Gonzo as the patient)

  • Rowlf was right. There are at least fifty ways to love your lever.

  • @GuanoLad LMAO!!!

  • Awesome so cute love this song soooooo much lol lol . More please he he !!!

  • Cute! I love Electric Mayhem, totally forgot about this episode

  • Rowlf: "Hey are you sure it isn't 50 ways to love your leaver?"?

    Floyd: "Positive"

    Rowlf: "Okay! Sorry Paul!

    LOL!!!!

  • am I the only one that thought this was a weird song for a kid's show??? great performance but I doubt the audience had the problem of figuring out how to walk away from their lover

  • @vlunney Well, remember that they were creating a show for the whole family. The Muppet show was on in prime time and if parents didn't want to see the show, kids weren't going to be able to see it.

  • ' f sure!' lol

  • "Fifty ways to love your lever." Only the Muppets could get away with a masturbation reference in a kids' show.

  • @lgerback34

that was about masturbation? man what were they ON when they went for this act???:)

  • @vlunney ...I thought they were talking about the soap.

  • Animal is good but he's no Steve Gadd!

  • Omg! The first couple of seconds remind me of bill withers and Grover Washington jr. Song titles just tha two of us.

    Nice. same Mood.

  • lmao

  • I like this version better

  • ROFL

"are you sure its not 50 ways to love your leaver??"

    ROFL!!!

  • @niksad008 No ROLFF

  • @mrdave2176 No Rowlf. ROFL.

  • @Durhandoni P.S. I have the strange feeling somebody used the first 30 seconds of this version of this song, for his song. But i dunno know who did it.

  • animal rocks

  • Paul Simon should like this version, if he knows it

  • @warhols25

He knows it, he was the guest on that episode, so he was there when this was shot.

  • This is swell!

  • oh crap !! i remember watching this for the first time.. it scared me .. hahaha ..

  • hahahaha..50 ways to love you liver..

  • its leaver but that was hilarious

  • What are the odds, even in Muppet world, that your bass and guitar player are bot lefties?

  • Well look up videos by UB40, both Ali Campbell and his older brother Robin are lefthanded guitarists. Or you should search up footage of Eric Gales who also has his brother Eugene play bass in his band and they both are lefties.

  • and, my query still stands. What are the odds? You have pointed out two examples out of thousands and thousands of bands. So, the answer should be... Never mind! The question was rhetorical in the first place. It was just an observational comment. Take it easy.

  • @ kissrev1 The muppet players perform backwards from their "handlers" and I'm a lefty guitarist who performed with a lefty bassist for a year or two, but to properly answer your question, staggering.

  • In Muppet world it's pretty high, actually, because of how the puppeteers operated. :P

  • One could be Paul McCartney and the other Jimi Hendrix. Though not really.

  • Comment removed

  • @kissrev1 what does that mean??? if there both lefties???

  • @kissrev1

Easy enough, in the Muppet word lefties are more common (I learned this from the DVD) It is easier to a right handed person to control the left hand.

  • @kissrev1 almost all the muppets are lefties... there is actually a simple technical reason for this. but i wont spoil it for everyone.

  • @McFearsome2

Well, not hard to understand, as the puppeteers in most cases are right handed. To the audience, their right hand looks left. To me, as a leftie, I this is the ultimate payback time! :)

  • Except the puppeteers are using their left hands to move the arms. It isn't an illusion. Usually the puppeteers use the right hand to operate the head and the left to move the arms. Causing the Muppets to be left handed.

  • @kissrev1..... Animal has his kit set to the left as well.

  • @kissrev1 in the muppets every artist is left handed

  • @kissrev1 Are you being muppetist?

Muppets are lefties man, it not their fault. They are born that way.

They're also rampantly liberal...they just like the left.

  • @kissrev1: all the Muppet musicians were lefties because the performers were righties and needed their right hands to perform the mouths and heads.

  • @TrevorOfDoom that's wrong^^ They are lefties because Jim Henson himself was a leftie^^ Not just the musicians but all the muppets are lefties^^

  • @TrevorOfDoom Or, the actors were all lefties (there are some, you know! Espec. the creative-minded people often are), so the performed mouth and heads with the left hands and the image was simply flipped later on in post production.

  • @MrNoupe Why don't you smoke another doob; Dude!

    I don't think you're hig enough, yet!

Being "stoned" doesn't always make you "Cool".

Sometimes it just makes you Stoopid.

    Capiche'; kid?

  • @swiggy58a your assumption regarding my pot consumption made me laugh ot loud. Seriously though, it saddens me to learn there are entities out there completely lacking the slightest hint of humor. How come you are watching funny videos while being unaware of a sense for irony? Do you mistake that for the breaking news?

  • @TrevorOfDoom I noticed Fozzy was the only righty Muppet.

I always thought it was awesome how many Muppets were left handed.... 'cus I am a lefty myself ;)

  • @TrevorOfDoom Janice and Floyd were also taught guitar by Jimi Hendrix; another leftie

  • @TrevorOfDoom wow thats really interesting :)

  • MUPPETS RULE !! YEAH

  • i love this song and this band to;-)

  • the muppet show-funny...lol

  • Nobody jams like the muppets

  • good to see Floyd out of rehab and making music again.

  • @mojoman1313

    Hahaha!

    This made my morning!

  • @mojoman1313 Gotta love the Vintage Fender bass, only a 70s muppet high on junk would have such a killer bass

  • Eep! Animal tried to eat Rizzo!

  • I like Floyd's singing on the song better than Paul Simon's.

  • me too :)

  • Floyd is king

  • Look at Animal trying to eat Rizzo in the end...! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAaaaaaaa........

  • lol just noticed that... hilaaaaaarious

  • One of the greatest and classiest TV programs of all time. Truly some great entertainers performing on this show. I still watch it and my 3 year old loves it

  • most people get that mixed up with the star of david or the normal pentagram, but this is actually the real deal lol

  • Check out the person trying to find symbolism in all the wrong places.

Try something like reading Akira or watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. Those purposely put in symbolism for you to look for. ;)

  • oh man eva sucked hard

  • wow ackdacka...you are retarded. that upside down star is right next to a rightside up star. if you are going to read too much into things, do everyone else a favor, and keep it to yourself.

  • This isn't a bad version but I personally think it's rather bland compared to original, I guess it's thanks to NOT hearing Steve Gadd's drum riff that does it.

  • It's either The muppets got this from the Jackson 5 show or the Jackson 5 show got this from the Muppet show

  • neither this is paul simon! I always thought this was a weird ass song for a kid's show even way back then.

  • Jim Henson always wanted to make an adult's show that was lighthearted, funny, and had lot of popular music on it. The Muppet Show is how he did it :D

  • !! The Muppet Show is and was not a kid's show. Boo. It was made for all ages.

  • get urself free

  • hell yeah. love your leaver.

  • This program was way too hip for the room- the music, the Swedish Chef, Bunsen E. Honeydew (and Beaker), and, of course, the "most appealing musical-comedy star since Bing Crosby," Kermit E. Frog. Awesome, awesome program.
