Oh my God, this is cringe-inducing! The book is masterfully written. I hate to see it reduced to B-movie horror status (though I love some B-movies).

NO.. you are referring to The Happening which sucked.. The day of the Triffids is where everyone is blinded and the plants become carnivorus.. great movie in the end salt water kills them

M Night Shalaman tried his hand at a triffid like story called The happening but it sucked.. This is one is far better

@TheTalentedMrRipley1, the Happening was meant to be more inside your head than facing a real threat. I liked it, not thebest work for him but better than the Lady in the Water. I saw this once, and really liked it, not bad for scary flick where plants become predators. We do not have too many of these movies.

Love this movie! Although it seems strange how they treated the poor blind ppl. Like "You are blind and you aren't worth saving". It would create a huge problem if everyone in the world became blind overnite. It is exciting movie!
