  • Love the song, but he choreographer should be hunted down and shot.

  • Actually it.s an interesting choice, good for them! they should try 'South side of the sky' !

  • Oh God, I looked at it.... NOOOOOO.. Now I have to tear my eyes out.... NO..... Oh the Humanity!!!!!

  • Hastings 2011 is awesome.

  • @rainluver13 lol, our showchoir is the opposite. we can dance like hell, but half of our people can't sing.

  • some of these boys need to work on facial expressions... I can talk cuz I got the award for best facial expressions in my show choir... lol. but good work y'all

  • great song..

  • Look up the Carmel, Indiana Ambassadors...they actually move, instead of stand there and sing with arm movements.

  • Look up the Carmel, Indiana Ambassadors...they actually move, instead of stand there and sing with arm movements.

  • Yall are fucking amazing OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that I would be able to rationalize to myself the simple choreography if there was a bigger darker clearer vocal presence...

  • the guy on the bottom, second from the left, seems to be having some serious eyebrow action going on :))

  • You hate me because this video continues to be shit.

  • @Nathey15 What kind of an a-hole would say this is "shit"? Oh yeah the kind who sits anonymously behind a computer talking smack on people who can do stuff he can't do. That kind.

  • really? you're kidding,

  • Beautiful ! ! ! When i say this i mean, i was captain of showchoir and i had to make people show just half the facial expressions in which these guys were showing. And yalls moves were wonderful. When ur arm or body was suppose to be in a certain place it was. Y'all should have came down to my high school and showed our group a couple of things. We couldn't be so bad though we won first place every competition. so YAY but we were in small division..lol.. anyway very good, keep up the hard work

  • yeah, they're INSANE. i go to this high school, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get into riverside company. seriously. they are so passionate about it!

  • jazz hands

  • There is no national championship.

  • Nathey15 a LOT of schools do this and it is really hard to do. So if your done laying on your fat butt and being lazy why dont you try joining one or go to a compition I am in one East Side Rythem in Minn and it takes work work WORK!!!

  • i hate you.

  • TRU DAT!

  • ummm...... doesn't this remind anyone of a micheal jackson music vid? i'm not ripping on him, but talking about all the choreography.

  • i still hate you.

  • you now what i acutally like in Hastings But I go to HMS not HHs so shut it

  • Does anyone know who this arranged by?

  • Where`s the cowbell player?

  • epidemy^H^H^H^H^H epitome lolz

  • ok this is good, but not great by any means, and certainly not deserving of nearly 100,000 views...the choreography is clean, but extremely simple. Tons of show choirs (Urbandale, Clinton, Xavier, Wheaton-Warrenville, to name a few) dance 10x harder for their entire shows than these guys do during their dance break. Also, the sound is loud, but not refined. The tone is extremely bright, plus, the vocals are simple too, its only 2 or 3 part harmony

  • I completely agree with you Idohfm. The choreography is incredibly simple, but very clean. The vocals and sound produced are very good. Most show choir kids are either dancers or singers, and Hastings is a definite singing show choir, but that's not a bad thing. Overall good job Hastings.

  • awesome choreography. the colours really bring out the effects. well done!

  • Andrew Cao is the best show choir choreographer I ever saw. Look at those visual effects with that beautiful geometry. The group and the music are wonderful too. This is definetely my favorite.

  • whenever i get down and life is giving me a kick, i watch this video and HOWL with laughter. It is the single funniest thing i have ever seen! Thanks so much to the misguided choir director, because you have saved many a down day!!

  • this is absolutely appalling and embarrassing but very funny

  • Can We Have Them as Our Possession!..my understanding..Qx!

  • This is reallly good!

  • Sucks??? The person below doesn't know music, OR show choir! This is amazing!

  • My GOD this sucks

  • Por fin se impone el buen gusto

  • Cute! Nice to see youngsters embracing real music.

  • that was amazing! the choreography so really cool!

  • you were amazing at heelan this year

  • Oh my goodness it's phil thomas! This is some of the best choirolography I have EVER seen!!!!!!!!! 1:30 is SOOO cool!

  • You probably shouldn't use a song for show choir if the lyrics don't make any sense. Needs more BASS. \m/

    Choreography was cool though.

  • This is wonderful. Seriously. Awesome. I love it. You guys are soooo amazing!

  • its actually amazing until the ass shaking, after that...it goes downhill...honestly, the monkey??? ooops!! great effort though, you got a hit if you rework the harmony and phrasings...

  • are you guys going to the gretna competition again this year in nebraska

  • My favorite part is the start of the lyric "In and around the lake...."

    Priceless.

  • Hell YES!

  • As a Yes fan, my reaction is astonishment and disbelief... On the other hand it is most entertaining and I've added it to my 'Funny Videos' Playlist

  • WHAAAAT THE FUCCKKK IS THISSSSSSS

  • NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • OMFG this rocks!!! Its goin on my mp3!!

  • i wish there were that many guys in our show shoir :(

  • Loved it! "Roundabout" never sounded better.

  • Lol, this video is FTW!

  • what does ftw mean? I hear it all the time...

  • for the win

  • I mean Jon Anderson & Steve Howe; The writers of roundabout

  • Don't forget squire wakeman and bruford!

  • NOW WE ALL want to know what YES would think of THIS

  • Jon Anderson did see this video, here's what he said:

"It's amazing and wonderful that people still enjoy Yes music 30 years later and are dancing and doing a great video for it."

    --Jon Anderson, about this video.

    Read the video's info.

  • no member of Yes deserves to be exposed to this.

on a seperate note, unrelated to "show choir"------

ive recently decided that "the revealing science of god" is my favorite song on "tales from topographic oceans"

  • Haha I can't believe Phil Seleskie actually did this. HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I'm from hastings and my last name is seleski. Everytime i would come into school late the office would always ask if i was related to him in a voice of pure admiration. I guess it just pisses me off because everyone knows he shaves his legs. Good god. Amazing story, no?

  • Oh lord. Make it stop. Please make it stop. This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

  • what r you haters of this video so afraid of? R u members of the taste-police or what?

free ur mind and free ur music!

i love seeing young people way more then half my age performing with pleasure and enthousiasm a piece of music by a band that changed my life completely when i was 14 yo. If Jon understands, u move on too!

Nice initiative by u the choir!

  • as a professional musician, and ardent yes fan, ive got to type that this is the worst abomination of musical interpretation that ive ever seen.

this video represents a concept which makes a mockery of yes music, and choir as well.

the only thing i can say about this repulsive piece of rubbish, is that its provided a great amount of humor to my fellow musicians, and a sad commentary about what musical performance has become.

  • utterbs, I just watched one of your videos and I currently ROFL. There is no way you can call this piece rubbish.

  • good thing you dont sublimate your own intellectual ineptitude by endorsing a the butchering of innocent music into 40 second interludes between attempts at "dancing", or put short, its a good thing your in show choir, tool.

  • ok, maybe all "show choir" (ugh i even hate to type it) isn't stupid, but this definitely is. this is the opposite of real art. it's ruining a piece of music.

  • I hope Jon Anderson never sees this.

  • i agree with dhood62, whether they remember typing it or not. even though their grammar is horrible.

  • "show choir" is a stupid concept in general.

  • that's the best example of ruining a good song i have ever been exposed to!

    keep up the great work!

  • that is ridiculous. how is it even possible to get that good. i can explain how good that is

  • you should be ashamed of saying that.

  • I have seen this several times. I have no comments for that performance. You are simply the best!

  • wow!

  • Other than that, it's a pretty solid show choir. Wish I had that many guys in my program...

  • I don't have a problem with this, other than someone needs to tell the director that it's NEVER stylistically appropriate to deliver scat syllables ("Dah yah ba doo dah, dah, dot") with the same hard beginning consonants and facials as you would use for the real lyrics. It's as if you are trying really hard to deliver the message of "Dah yah ba doo dah, dah, dot" and it looks STUPID. Lay off the caffeinated intensity and just enjoy the music there!

And yes, I do know what I'm talking about.

  • As a fan of prog rock, I never thought that I would see a show choir belting out Yes's 1972 classic, but here it is and it's great! You can see that the choir has a huge enthusiasm to perform and do the great song justice. I wish my choir would consider some pieces like this.

  • OMG!!! I wish i had an opportunity to participate in a choir this big with this much vocal talent and balance with this much precision in their choreography. i go to a really small school so the people we have available for participation in ours aren't really that up to par as far as choirs are concerned... im not really ever challenged by the work we do... this is more my level :)

  • I'm pretty sure I've seen this in my Chorus class. A guy that was in that show choir moved down here and showed us the video.

  • i like, i think it's very nice to watch.

    Keep up the good work.

    from Sweden

  • ROTFL at show choir vs. "real music" flame war. No one would imagine that show choir and prog rock could mate let alone produce this beautiful bastard offspring. The best art asks more questions than it answers, and this amazing creation does just that, even if the questions are mostly "WTF???" Please follow this up with a show choir version of Tarkus!

  • i saw them at the gretna competition earlier in january. this does their new show no justice.

    congrats on being completely amazing.

  • actually... this is one of several "national" competitions held each year. It was the second best show at that competition- which isn't considered a true national championship by anyone.

  • yeah pretty cool i would imagine the yes boys would rate it to

  • so what...?!

  • This is amazing and fantastic. God bless these kids, choir and this wonderful music and movements. Conratulations to the conductors and coreographers. I am learning a lot with you.

    Search for me.

    Coronlaine.

  • are you mad? you gotta be kidding?!?!?!

AMazing? Fantastic? How much must YOUR life suck to find this great?!?!?!.

THe conductors and choreographers are musical, sensual and emotional criminals!

I can only hope u were takin the piss!

  • HAHAHAHAHA! That's halarious! :)

  • what the fuck is this gay shit?

  • woah! some of those dresses were flying up WAY to high! let's keep it down ladies...PACKAGING TAPE!

  • Wow! This makes our showchoir look like a group of amature christmas carolers. Kudos, you guys!

  • now, Christine...you've defending yourself and your views with class and aplomb...don't allow yourself to sink to the level of these yapping little dogs. dogs bark because they lack the brains to speak.

  • First of all, I notice that whenever anyone says anything bad about a video, idiot teenage viewers give it a thumbs down automatically. That said, Yes is bordering on campy for me (and I love them), but this is just beyond the beyond. Way too campy to enjoy, and it's nothing without the Rickenbacker.

  • To quote Jim Carey after doing his send-up version of the Beatles song, 'I am the Walrus', "There, I did it! I've defiled a timeless piece of art! For my next trick I'll paint a clown face on the Mona Lisa, while using the Shroud of Turin as a drop cloth!"

  • Sure makes you feel old. Is that high school

or college? At least they're not singing

    Aquarius.

  • i think it was good the girls in front were getin it. also it's funny at 1:35 "spirit fingers".

  • Hey. Dear "theorderofone" SCREW YOU. What do you have to compare this to? And for that matter, all you haters who dislike the fact that we're better at singing and dancing a song by Yes than any other lameass cover band out there, you all can suck it. If you dont get the concept of showchoir then do some fricking research.

  • bad vocals, bad costumes, bad choreography, they were just bad

  • Amazing much?

  • good for them, but they could have chosen a better song instead of butchering a great song from a great band

  • oh, don't know...it was very interesting, and not as far off if you listen to the 'swing' version YES has been doing recently. and the choreography was campy and just fun.

reckon anyone in the band has seen this? wonder what THEY think?

I LOVE all things 'yes', and like to see young kids digging the Majesty of Yes...in any form!

  • for GOD'S SAKE! there is no "Swing"-Version!!!!

  • never said it was 'good, just interesting...the unplugged version w/ emphasis on 1 n 3, w a little push on the 'and' of four ain't swing, then i've been in the wrong business for damm near 40 years. no, it's not gillespie, so maybe your idea of 'swing' is a little different from mine.

    after all, i'm just a life-long professional musician...what would I know?

my point: music should be FUN, and for young kids to dig YES is always a good thing...plant the seed, it'll grow if the soil's fertile.

  • no seriously, you totally butchered my favorite Yes song with this CRAP, you can't sing and you can't dance, you guys are a joke

  • what a way to ruin a good song, this sucks

  • ignore the haters

    you guys the shit

  • FUCK

  • FUCK

  • FUCK

  • FUCK

  • the music was boring and the choreography was even worse. sean is amazing. we get him every year. he choreagraphs the rose bowl

  • man...were middle school show choir and were better than yall

  • Why-Nuff said

  • Ohh umm wow..0_0

  • The Music was good, but do your self a favor, get a new Choreographer!

  • Fairfield is better.... juss sayin... look them up and see for yourself....

  • this show choir was amazing!

  • I was blown away when I saw this. One of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I hope all those guys went out and bought a copy of "Fragile" by Yes while they were rehearsing for this.

  • check out the vid showchoirfan posted. it's the reality version of all of our lives!

  • Ouch !

  • I haven't laughed so hard in years. My God, that sucked to high heaven. Absolutely nauseating. I love the hand gestures. Please tell me that was a joke!!

  • Very moving.

  • uhhh wtf??? YES is my all time favorite band and they pretty much ruined this song with the dancing and clapping. and one of those chicks totally looked like a dude.

  • These guys rock wtf are you all saying.

  • oh dear

  • my schools show choir is so much better. this is just annoying haha. GO POWERCOMPANY!!!!

  • I think these guys are "out and out."

  • i feel so unrock watching this... good lord

  • As soon as they started the choreography and clapping I was immediately annoyed. when it was over I considered slitting my wrists.

  • This is humorous.

    This should have never happened.

Not to mention that the choreography is absolutely horrid.

  • agreed.

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? They took an awesome song by an awesome band and turned it into some sort of pussy dance crap.

  • agreed, this sucks and their vocal technique is shit

  • wow that sucks

  • Nice to see Women who aren't waif's.

  • wonder how they do that it sure takes alot of time to practise, but nevermind they are all adults lol

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, hope you can back that up - I doubt it.

  • ROUUUUNDABOUT

  • Comment removed

  • i am in a show choir. i won gold this year. and we won gold last year as well. jacyfarrow, show choir is not "singing cheerleaders"! Show choir are people who can sing very well putting on a show for a chrowd unlike a regular choir where people just sing

  • I don't think we have such showchoirs here in Holland! Amazing!!

  • this energy and joy is impressive...it wold never be done in Poland...great performance of great song:)congrats

  • { is not impressed }

Their choreography is...eugh. I mean, it's not bad [for some reason it seems a bit sloppy though], but couldn't a high school show choir come up with something a bit more challenging?

  • I am in Middle school show choir... that deosnt look that hard at all... I don't get whats so special about it.

  • Ever seen the Central Sound from Indianapolis? I think that the costumes were ripped from their 2001 show

  • because red dresses and black suits were worn so well by Central Sound from Indianapolis in their 2001 show, red dress and black suits are officially retired.

Come on Hastings Everybody knows that!

  • nice dancing. work on vocals though.

  • may be good dansers but NEVER good singers!

  • when i first saw this i thought it was a middle school choir group. choreography is way way easy. but then i heard vocals and i heard a highschool choir. a sad one at best. needs work. but overall easy to clean

  • no no no no no god no

  • I'm with you man. lol.

  • For a show choir they are not that bad.

  • W the hell was that!!

    I think i'm gonna puke ....

  • Honestly, I don't know what to say. It is like watching a car wreck...I shouldn't watch the horror but I can't turn away.

  • the band and the vocals aren't actually in time for alot of the time, and there are way too many people to be in a show choir. i wouldn't pay to see this

  • vocals need some work

  • I agree. I don't understand how this song can get 45,000+ views on this website.

If you're watching for showmanship, I can list a billion other groups who have better show.

If you're watchinig for musicianship, type in california and youll get your good fare in good music.

    this ISNT that great.

  • guavamangoman you should be DEAD and KILLED

  • Nice, very funny.
