Homeschooling was the worst thing that ever happened to me. My parents didn't want to let me decide for my self, what I believed so they homeschooled me and forced "god" down my throat. If you're thinking of homeschooling your children, please message me if you want to hear both sides. Just to give you an idea, my parents and I haven't spoken for over three years. That's what could happen to your relationship with your children.
i hated school&didn't retain anything i learned until i started college. i actually worked very hard to drop out of high-school;then got a job, my g.e.d.&started college at the same time as my peers in my supposive graduating class.i tell my son i'm sorry i have to work for money & cant teach him at home, hang in there, just go to socialize & pick up what you can, don't stress on grades(he gets a's&b's anyway)&when he's old enough to get a job, he can homeschool his way into college like i did.
Home schooled kids tend not to be great leaders. They have noone to try and lead while shaked up away from the rest of the kids their age. Most kids who are homeschooled want to go to public or private school, then they see how good they really have it at home.
As an employer we look for home schooled background people (especially from rural areas) because they know problem solving and how to work on their own. They make good leaders. Public school kids lack these skills and either are good memorizers or not too bright.
@DeraJa Controlling? I would say parents teach their kids what's important for them, their values, and beliefs etc. I don't have any issue with hearing them say "not with our beliefs" because they are learning what is important for their own family. They saw it personally that the 'other' kids were sitting at home and didn't do anything and it looked like they didn't agree with that. It sounds like they already have their own beliefs at least on this issue and didn't need control to learn it.
@DeraJa Key word is OUR not my parents or my moms or my dads she includes her self in there. this makes her have her own thoughts... SO I think your wrong, I was both home schooled and private schooled and I must Say I made a lot of friends in school but I learned more at home.
Learning how to learn, sadly, is not taught until at least college and even then only if you can figure that out yourself. These kids are decades ahead of their peers in this regard.

Youre putting words in these kids mouths though.
