Though I have to say it can be a little cheap and it probably makes it difficult for the story writers to come up with interesting convincing story with good twists when one character can do sooooo much making the other good characters less impressive with their limited powers.

Peter Petrelli is the strongest of them all, he just has to be near a person with abilities to absorb and copy them and then he needs to chanel the new power, and he can use them when ever he wants, unlimited. The only weakness that Peter has, is a bullet through the head, and the bullet needs to stay there if it dosen't he's body will self heal and he will awake once more.

Peter is obviously way better than Sylar. I mean, Sylar has to kill the person whose powers he wants, and then eat their brain. Peter only has to touch them.

i agree even though peter is the most powerful, sylars character is way more interesting. his sinister, cunning, and one tract mind just pushes the story so much beter. peter doesnt really know what hes doing half the time either. hes like "i have all these powers but i'm only gonna turn invisible and run away until the last episode and still not do shit." and sylars like "i have all these powers and if you get in my way im gonna use them all to fuck you and take over the world."

sylar has better eyebrows. no. but that's true. sylar is a bit more badass. why i like him more. and since peter had that weird haircut first season...

*sigh* There are still people like you out there that thinks Sylar eats the brains of the people he kills? My god, I thought that was put to rest a long time ago... He can see how things work, that's his original power, hence the reason he was a watchmaker. He examines the brain, he doesn't eat them *eyeroll*

Zachary Quinto, the guy who plays Sylar, says he doesn't even know what happens to the brains. He even went as far as to say that the impression he got was that he 'actually ingested [them]'.

A season two episode suggested heavily the brain theory is correct.

They both have survived. Just that Sylar has still lost his powers in season 2, but peter still have them.
