@jockerswar The basic suit is a diving drysuit, but there are other layers now (inside and outside) :) I am not trying to keep much secret, but there are some things I'd rather not reveal just yet. Cheers Cameron
Prettu sure the heating for the visor is somewhere around 20V... I've been in Russia several times and I managed to visit an airbase: suits and helmets for high altitude suits used by Mig31 crewmembers were heated with voltage in that range. Btw, i you're looking for some "dry glove systems", Northern Diver sells a set of gloves plus clamps for like 100€: I have them on my drysuit and they work very well.
@GlobeMasterLover Thanks for the heads-up! How did you get to visit these air bases? Time and again, when I need a low-tech solution to a design issue, I end up 'inventing' the same solution arrived at by the Sokol suits. The Russians made simple, but entirely workable, pressure suits. Even today their main Sokol suit does not have a zipper! I will let you think on how to seal a pressure suit without an airtight zipper! It can be done, and is, every time people fly up in a Sokol suit :)
@scandiacus I've been in Russia for business lot of time. My boss at the time was very well connected with the local authorities and he was crazy about fyling one of those MiG-31... I think he kinda bribed someone to have a flight on one of those a/c so, when he went there, I was with him and saw all this stuff! :)
@fajnycycek You're right, that is a mistake. I will pressurize the suit with an inert gas, but I will breathe from a supply of liquid oxygen. Good eye :) Cheers Cameron
most awesome, keep up the good work, not too many explorer's anymore!!! you my friend are amazing!!!

Yes -- I'm researching power requirements of the visor heater.

gsh-6 visors are electrically heated...check cables. May you should tweak this to prevent fog?
