I agree with a few other people. Watching films (if you're a film buff like me) in TruMotion (see how they didn't spell True right? Yeah, because they're fucking cool) is terrible. Looks like real life, with no aesthetic qualities to it whatsoever. Also, when playing games, mw3 to be exact, with trumotion on it makes the player run, shoot and walk entirely differently, thus changing your gaming experience...for the worse. Fake frames delay action, causing you to react slower.
these motion smoothing filters and what nots always scare the hell out of me when I want to buy a TV. I really want none of it and that's why I tend to stick to 50 hz tv's.
Those smoothing software appear to make everything go quicker than it is. it's really annoying and a bad evolution, it's not relaxing at all and feels very unreal.
trumotion and the like ruin the feel of movies.. movies are filmed at 24fps for a reason.. if filmakers wanted it to look like shit they'd film it and 60fps or whatever lol..
Man, I would be pissed if I couldn't turn that post processing crap off. I have an LG and had no problems turning mine off. I wonder if their is a firmware update for your TV that would solve this for you. That would be the only way of fixing it from the TVs standpoint.
This trick works wonders for 3d movies . I spent a good weekend tryin to figure out my ghosting problem.. shut off 24p and it was beautiful. Just a heads up for all the 3d'ers out there!! good vid man.. some ppl never would have figured on that
@KatonaFlooring Good lookin out yo this guy be buggin on the realz. My method man is to push every button till i get it right ya heard? Word to the GOD. Don't normally speak that way we just got the WU blastin in the back ground. Na but really though great comment.
Have you figured out how to turn 120hz off yet? (besides the obvious ps3 solution). I am about to buy an LG 42V4400 (120hz led) and I am scared by not being able to turn it off when I want to...thanks in advance!
I bought a Sony Bravia tv 2 days ago and I was surprised how its motion smoothing made Batman Arkham City running at 60fps. For movies I can turn it off but for games it's a true welcome.
The tutorial is very clear and easy to understand. But I didn´t understand why it looks like crap. It looks blurry?, deformed?, or just want to save power?
I am annoyed that the option is there, but grayed out which means it's inaccessible. I mean why the hell would they include the option, but make it so you can't access it? It downright trolling there.
Thank god I'm not the only guy who hates that shit. No one else seems to give a crap about that "smooth" garbage every time I complain about it. Hey, but thanks to you, I can fix it. Or, temporarily fix it. Thanks anyway.
I hate the "soap opera effect". It just doesn't look natural. Everyone walks too fast too. I just bought the LG 47LW5600 Passive 3D LED and it has the option to disable trumotion. What a relief.
I was unaware that being a fan of movies meant you had to insist on using the archaic frame rates that have been standardized in cinema. The sooner movies are filmed and played back at a real 60 frames per second the better.
Thanks.. I have an LG plasma also and have the greyed out film setting you describe (always nice when it is there but unaccessible!). Anyways, many thanks... the motion correction was driving me nuts... never good when animated movies look like they were filmed with an handicam.
This truemotion shit is really making me nervous for when I have to get a new TV. I really don't want my movies to look like the news or a soap opera. I want my movies to look like movies. End of story.

I really dont like it with movies/tv and seem to be the only to notice it in my familiy.. when the whole family is over they think im nuts..but on the plus it makes games better, has anyone noticed after watching trumotion that you are able to see real life like that? Trippede out at work lol

My dad's brand new 50 inch samsung TV did the same thing... nobody seemed to notice but me, and it bugged the crap out of me... it looked bad... such a stupid gimmick... I finally figured out how to turn it off
You're not turning motion interpolation off, you're only forcing your playstation to use 3:2 pull-down to send your television 60hz instead of 24hz, and defeating the advantage of proper 5:5 film cadence afforded by owning a 120hz television in the process. Your television apparently doesn't apply interpolation to 60hz material, so you've effectively turned it off, but as a whole gotten no closer to proper film reproduction.

Personally I LOVE the trumotion effect. I was playing Crackdown in 60 fps..Also cyberlink PowerDVD has the same filter for the "60 FPS" look. but I might agree with some movies like the matrix. It'll look weird but its still badass.
How hertz is that particular tv that is producing that kind of soap opera picture? I have a 60hz and I wanted to know if when I play a blue ray movie will it do the same thing or is it just the 120hz lcds that do that as a default feature. As you can tell I am going to play a blu ray movie for the first time on my tv.
@Creationcreed As far as I know TruMotion (and it's counterparts by other brands) and image frequency are independant. I've seen 120Hz and even 240Hz TVs that didn't have TruMotion (or at least it wasn't advertised) and 60Hz TVs that had it. Either way, if it has it, you can always turn it off somehow.
I would agree with you Mr. Wieber, I cannot stand the tru-motion that is forced down our throats these days. I want to watch movies the good O'le Fashioned way!!!!!
Finally! It takes a well respected VFX genius to get people to understand how 120Hz & TruMotion/CineMotion hurt the movie watching experience. Seriously guys, just because it's a new & flashy technology (I use the word "new" loosely here, seeing as how Plasma TVs have been 600Hz since forever) doesn't mean it's the best for EVERYTHING. It does improve games but it's killing movie magic. Also, Ryan if you could post a rant about anti 3D TVs, that would help too. The Force is strong with this one
@AdventChild93 On the more expensive models, that is the case. However, on mine, the Expert Settings, where the TruMotion settings are, is grayed-out, and I am not allowed to access it. Very annoying. Especially since the manual (which is for the whole line of TVs) explains how to turn it off, when mine can't.
@RyanWieber Oh I see. My apologies then. That's quite bad on LG's part. I couldn't bare watching a film with TruMotion on. It made it look like a tacky home movie. Glad you found a fix for people. I'm sure some ignorant people won't even realise this is the case with their tv. Good informative video.
@RyanWieber I've managed to turn it off (32LD550) by using Expert1. Then I'm able to set it to off. Did you check for any software updates for your model?
@Imaginaryspacedaddy You might recall that the entire reason for my outrage was that I did not have an OPTION to turn it off with my TV. If it was easy for me to turn off then I would. But because the TV wouldn't let me, I had to find a work around, and am sharing that with others who may be in the same predicament.
And yes, I think i think it looks like crap, on movies and TV.
i got a lg 55Le5300 55 inch...i play pc xbox wii and ps3 on it..well here is the thing i can turn trumotion off/on wehen i watch movies..but a soon its agame i cant turn it on? why?niot with console games or pc...but jst movies eems towrk no matter the media...i have also a ful hd 42 inch lcd Lg that has XDengine2 in it..but i cant find it in the meny...is it always on?but how can i compare if it even makes thepicture better...just alot features that have cool names and dont do shit
@Imaginaryspacedaddy lol, ur so naive! its so cute! well, but it isnt! ur 30 fps game stays 30 fps game, it just does a little trick 4 movies. i like some things 2 watch smooth, but some i dont. like guy said cinema efect is totally killed, but i hate jerky lcd problems, so i rather look movies with it
@Imaginaryspacedaddy A lot of the reason people turn it off for videogames is because it fucks up framerate and introduces a huge amount of input lag. I just realized you wrote this a year ago, oh well. Just goes to show you, it's still a big problem.
motion smoothing shit XD said really good Ryan and When I have a problem with watching movies on the ps3 because the frames sometimes move quite in like fast jumping way so I am gonna try this hope it works
Hmmm I can see what you mean...my parents got a PLASMA downstairs thats about like 35 - 38 inch and its a little disorientating since the frames is so smooth it spoils it sometimes. My parents are used to it but I watch my LCD upstairs which I think for me is a lil bit better :)
I just had a thought. In the Sony Store, I remember watching WALL-E and thinking it looks crazy-smooth, way smoother than it was in film. At first, I thought it was because it was computer animated, but is this the effect you're talking about? (Not sure if it was playing on a PS3, but it might've been)
@RyanWieber I was at a Walmart last week and it had "Cars" playing side-by-side on two TVs. One looked normal, one looked all strange and super-smooth, like an XBOX game. I don't know what they were playing the DVDs on, but I'm sure one of them was doing the TruMotion or some kind of equivalent.
I just wish there was a way to demonstrate the difference side by side in a Youtube video, but I doubt filming the TVs will work, since the camera will record however many frames it can.
Ah! Poor Ryan! You bought a plasma when they have these swanky new LED tvs out :( ...I just got the LG LED HD for Xmas - noticed the same motion blur bullshite, and turned that right off. But the blacks really stay black and it doesn't give off nearly as much heat as a plasma!
Yeah, the LEDs are out, but they are generally much more expensive. I spent less than $900 for my 50-inch, which is a very good deal. I feel good about it. I'm not disappointed in the image I get. It's blacks can go deeper than I need, and it's whites can go brighter than I want, so I have it dialed in to a comfortable level. I haven't paid much attention to how much heat it gives off...
dude i have the same tv and u have option to change the setting in advance mode and turn off TRUMO option , my other LG there is a option in advanced mode again and its clearly labled 120hz put that to off or low
Firstly, as I only indicated the brand (LG) of my TV, you really don't know which particular model I have. Secondly, I assure you that I have explored every menu option in every nook and cranny. Your model may be one of the ones that does have the option to turn it off (as I said in the video, some do) but mine doesn't. So, it's for those who have a model like mine, who I made this video for. You have the easy solution.
then u need a diff firmware , and changing the video modes have the trumotion turned off by defualt , try the diff modes even though the colors will be messed up find the one with the trumotion off then adjust the color and contrast
What, you don't like the new J.J. Abrahms Telenovela ESTRELLA TREK?
Good source tip. The Sony line has the option to turn off the "Motion Flow" technology and only play back the repeated frames on their 120 Hz and 240 Hz displays.
Very informative. As I understand it BD can produce up to 25fps in progressive, being a true 1080p video means it shouldn't play frames any faster, but trumotion produces 60fps. Instead of dubbling frames it fakes new ones in the spaces to "make it smoother". Turning off the 24fps on the PS3 sounds like it's suddenly not producing 24 frames and forces the TV to pick up the slack which returns it to the original frame rate. So glad I bought my HDTV before this.
however i don't know if i'll ever get a ps3? or HDTV, which by the way Star trek must look so incredible on your tv :D - it's one of my all time favorote movies!! Star wars - Phantom menace was awesome too!
who really gives a shit? see this is why i hate ps3 fans. the most highly defended aspect is BYOO WAY! WHOA! cool! NOT! i dont give a damn whether it's blu ray. i still watch vhs' and play games on my n64! honestly. standard def looks just fine on my 29 inch 1996 zenith.
@KingKool2099 i imagine that the Ps3's feature that allows you to play Blu Ray movies, is one of the reasons why it is more expensive to buy than to buy and Xbox360 ; )
i don't own either... i still have a normal Xbox. and i don't even know why Jediguardian10 is even commenting on this video... this video is obviously for ps3 users only.
@jediguardian10 well, i want to buy an xbox360 so i can play halo3 (im a huge halo fan, i have halo 2 on normal xbox) but if i wanted to watch a Blu Ray movie, then a 360 would be useless... and why exactly did you bother to comment on this video? if you like the 360 so much? just watch videos about xbox360 ; )
@shagoosty well, i liked it a lot because it introduces pod racing, i even have the pc game : ) and i thought darth maul was a great character and he really kicked ass!!, but really... i like all 6 movies for individual reasons... Ep2 was cool because of count dooku, when i first saw it in the cinema i thought obiwan and anakin could take dooku!! but we all know how that turned out ; )
Well that is valid, Darth Maul was a fuckin beast, and the pod racing was pretty sweet. I however can not say that there is anything about the Clone wars except that it was a precursor to Revenge
hmm yeah you're right, and it's too bad that Darth Maul forgot that Qui-gon's lightsaber was still lying around. and Ep2 - i did not like how there were too many scenes with anakin and padme, but i suppose Lucas needed to show how they bonded... but the highlight was Count Dooku pwning obiwan and anakin, and was even able to fight off Yoda too, but perhaps he knew Yoda would beat him? or was he just in a hurry to deliver the Deathstar plans to Palpatine??
What else is added to give the film look? I usually put my video into 24fps and give it the proper widescreen, but is there any other layers or effects to remove the soap opera look?
How is the RVB2 Project going? i owuld have loved to take part but my pc had a massive hardware fail and apple are taking ages to deliver my new imac :S,,, something to do with the i7 processors :S... Good video i too had a problme with a sony model and had to have a good look around in the menu... Thanks
I remember a local filmmaker pointing out the difference between 24 and 30 fps. It's subtle, but soap operas as probably the best metaphor to use, since everyone knows how they are shot.
There's only a few shows I can think of that seem to have two different shooting modes in the show itself: Lexx, that crummy sci-fi show from years ago, and Good Eats.
It'd be great if someone made a video showing how the modes are different, so the difference would be clear. Very nice video.
Great video, and thanks for the info, but there are some movies this looks AMAZING in. Films like Cloverfield or Public Enemies or Heat... almost anything Michael Mann has filmed EVER looks awesome with motion smoothing cuz of how they're filmed. Most films, anything shot on Film in fact will look like ass.
Oh and try to get a copy of EpIII in 1080p and watch it with motion smoothing. Because of it's HD Cam nature it looks tits.
Gonna disagree with you. Those films with 360 degree slurred shutters look like ass. They managed to find a way to make 24p projected film like like fucking video. If I watched that WITH motion smoothing, I'd have to shoot myself in the face. And by the way, there are no Star Wars movies on Blu Ray yet.
The Clone Wars is kinda a Star Wars movie and that's on Bluray, and apparently The Ultimate Star Wars Bluray boxset is coming out in a year or two, should be good if the rumors are true...
I know there are no Star Wars on Blu-ray yet. But they were on HBO in 1080p and I backed up my DVR'd copies of those to DVD-9 which is totally legal, and I'm able to play them in my PS3 which is nice.
OH and wondering if you've seen Adywan's cut of A New Hope. If not, I recommend you heck it out.
And to each their own. i like the look and feel of Mann's films. Especially Collateral and Miami Vice. Though the latter wasn't very good story wise.
I'm with Ryan. I refused to even see Public Enemies because the visuals looked like total shit. Mann's use of too-open shutters sets back people's acceptance of digital acquisition by several years each time he makes a movie. Cloverfield is the only even slightly acceptable one because it's supposed to be crummy home video. End shuttercrime now!
LOL... Lank and I had this exact conversation recently about why certain HDTVs just look like motion-smoothed-out ASS. I still have ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING IDEA why ANYONE would want to program such an abysmal "tool" into ANY hardware, anywhere.
I waited until trumotion came out b4 I got an HDTV. I was fortunate to get a lesser brand of Insignia that came with a "game" preset for the picture.

@RyanWieber I've managed to turn it off (32LD550) by using Expert1. Then I'm able to set it to off. Did you check for any software updates for your model?

TruMotion actually makes me motion sick. I fucking hate it.
jadedtwin 1 year ago
This is good to know Ryan. Quick question, does this apply to game also in the ps3 or just bluray movies?
kuunami 1 year ago
@kuunami No, I think this only applies to Blu-Rays and DVDs. Games kind of do their own framerate thing.
RyanWieber 1 year ago
@RyanWieber the motion is not good with trumotion so better change that
totizedger 1 year ago
ihave the same tv and a ps3, thnx
SaxonKid2012 1 year ago
Looks like crap? Motion interpolation makes 30fps games look as they were 60fps.
That is crap? It's basically a videocard upgrade from the fucking tv.
Can't believe people can complain about this amazing feature. If you don't like it, just turn it off.
Imaginaryspacedaddy 1 year ago
@Imaginaryspacedaddy You might recall that the entire reason for my outrage was that I did not have an OPTION to turn it off with my TV. If it was easy for me to turn off then I would. But because the TV wouldn't let me, I had to find a work around, and am sharing that with others who may be in the same predicament.
And yes, I think i think it looks like crap, on movies and TV.
Games? Fine, probably great.
Sports? Why not. Rock on.

i got a lg 55Le5300 55 inch...i play pc xbox wii and ps3 on it..well here is the thing i can turn trumotion off/on wehen i watch movies..but a soon its agame i cant turn it on? why?niot with console games or pc...but jst movies eems towrk no matter the media...i have also a ful hd 42 inch lcd Lg that has XDengine2 in it..but i cant find it in the meny...is it always on?but how can i compare if it even makes thepicture better...just alot features that have cool names and dont do shit
HyperfastMalmsteen 10 months ago
@Imaginaryspacedaddy lol, ur so naive! its so cute! well, but it isnt! ur 30 fps game stays 30 fps game, it just does a little trick 4 movies. i like some things 2 watch smooth, but some i dont. like guy said cinema efect is totally killed, but i hate jerky lcd problems, so i rather look movies with it
cauda123 9 months ago
@Imaginaryspacedaddy A lot of the reason people turn it off for videogames is because it fucks up framerate and introduces a huge amount of input lag. I just realized you wrote this a year ago, oh well. Just goes to show you, it's still a big problem.
Muzikdude15 7 months ago
@Muzikdude15 So can you turn TruMotion off on some of the recent released LCD models

motion smoothing shit XD said really good Ryan and When I have a problem with watching movies on the ps3 because the frames sometimes move quite in like fast jumping way so I am gonna try this hope it works
danynumbuh68 1 year ago
Hmmm I can see what you mean...my parents got a PLASMA downstairs thats about like 35 - 38 inch and its a little disorientating since the frames is so smooth it spoils it sometimes. My parents are used to it but I watch my LCD upstairs which I think for me is a lil bit better :)
Dazzy160 1 year ago
Thanks a lot man, this TruMotion is crap. I just cant watch movies or tv shows with it on.
jryang 1 year ago
Dude I have the same problem!!!!
punchlinekid182 2 years ago
I just had a thought. In the Sony Store, I remember watching WALL-E and thinking it looks crazy-smooth, way smoother than it was in film. At first, I thought it was because it was computer animated, but is this the effect you're talking about? (Not sure if it was playing on a PS3, but it might've been)
KingKool2099 2 years ago
Quite possibly.
RyanWieber 2 years ago
@RyanWieber I was at a Walmart last week and it had "Cars" playing side-by-side on two TVs. One looked normal, one looked all strange and super-smooth, like an XBOX game. I don't know what they were playing the DVDs on, but I'm sure one of them was doing the TruMotion or some kind of equivalent.
I just wish there was a way to demonstrate the difference side by side in a Youtube video, but I doubt filming the TVs will work, since the camera will record however many frames it can.
KingKool2099 1 year ago
@nuclearweasel you got served
KulakxFilms 2 years ago
Ah! Poor Ryan! You bought a plasma when they have these swanky new LED tvs out :( ...I just got the LG LED HD for Xmas - noticed the same motion blur bullshite, and turned that right off. But the blacks really stay black and it doesn't give off nearly as much heat as a plasma!
nuklearweasel 2 years ago
Yeah, the LEDs are out, but they are generally much more expensive. I spent less than $900 for my 50-inch, which is a very good deal. I feel good about it. I'm not disappointed in the image I get. It's blacks can go deeper than I need, and it's whites can go brighter than I want, so I have it dialed in to a comfortable level. I haven't paid much attention to how much heat it gives off...
RyanWieber 2 years ago
Either way, thank you for crusading against the 120 hz BS that goes with these new TVs.

Very nice tut. I don't have this problem, but I'd be pretty pissed if I did.

dude i have the same tv and u have option to change the setting in advance mode and turn off TRUMO option , my other LG there is a option in advanced mode again and its clearly labled 120hz put that to off or low
warwith1n 2 years ago
Firstly, as I only indicated the brand (LG) of my TV, you really don't know which particular model I have. Secondly, I assure you that I have explored every menu option in every nook and cranny. Your model may be one of the ones that does have the option to turn it off (as I said in the video, some do) but mine doesn't. So, it's for those who have a model like mine, who I made this video for. You have the easy solution.
RyanWieber 2 years ago
then u need a diff firmware , and changing the video modes have the trumotion turned off by defualt , try the diff modes even though the colors will be messed up find the one with the trumotion off then adjust the color and contrast

What, you don't like the new J.J. Abrahms Telenovela ESTRELLA TREK?
Good source tip. The Sony line has the option to turn off the "Motion Flow" technology and only play back the repeated frames on their 120 Hz and 240 Hz displays.
DavidScJrStudio 2 years ago
Pretty clear video for an iphone.

Star wars - Phantom menace was awesome too!

get a 360! its WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY better than a piss 3.
jediguardian10 2 years ago
Question for you: does the 360 play Blu Rays?
KingKool2099 2 years ago
who really gives a shit? see this is why i hate ps3 fans. the most highly defended aspect is BYOO WAY! WHOA! cool! NOT! i dont give a damn whether it's blu ray. i still watch vhs' and play games on my n64! honestly. standard def looks just fine on my 29 inch 1996 zenith.
jediguardian10 2 years ago
@KingKool2099 i imagine that the Ps3's feature that allows you to play Blu Ray movies, is one of the reasons why it is more expensive to buy than to buy and Xbox360 ; )
i don't own either... i still have a normal Xbox. and i don't even know why Jediguardian10 is even commenting on this video... this video is obviously for ps3 users only.
KoRnDuDe19886 2 years ago
ah. but, im watching it because its not just about the ps3. plus. i have a blu ray player already.
jediguardian10 2 years ago
and trust me, 360 has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY better games than a ps3.
jediguardian10 2 years ago
@jediguardian10 well, i want to buy an xbox360 so i can play halo3 (im a huge halo fan, i have halo 2 on normal xbox) but if i wanted to watch a Blu Ray movie, then a 360 would be useless... and why exactly did you bother to comment on this video? if you like the 360 so much? just watch videos about xbox360 ; )
KoRnDuDe19886 2 years ago
Seriously...out of all of the Star Wars you chose PM.... really?
shagoosty 2 years ago
@shagoosty well, i liked it a lot because it introduces pod racing, i even have the pc game : ) and i thought darth maul was a great character and he really kicked ass!!, but really... i like all 6 movies for individual reasons... Ep2 was cool because of count dooku, when i first saw it in the cinema i thought obiwan and anakin could take dooku!! but we all know how that turned out ; )
KoRnDuDe19886 2 years ago
Well that is valid, Darth Maul was a fuckin beast, and the pod racing was pretty sweet. I however can not say that there is anything about the Clone wars except that it was a precursor to Revenge
shagoosty 2 years ago 2
hmm yeah you're right, and it's too bad that Darth Maul forgot that Qui-gon's lightsaber was still lying around. and Ep2 - i did not like how there were too many scenes with anakin and padme, but i suppose Lucas needed to show how they bonded... but the highlight was Count Dooku pwning obiwan and anakin, and was even able to fight off Yoda too, but perhaps he knew Yoda would beat him? or was he just in a hurry to deliver the Deathstar plans to Palpatine??
KoRnDuDe19886 2 years ago
I'm too poor to buy a LG TV
so theres really no point in watching this video

What else is added to give the film look? I usually put my video into 24fps and give it the proper widescreen, but is there any other layers or effects to remove the soap opera look?
Btw Ryan you are inspirational. Thanks!

pineappleboyfilms 2 years ago 5
I remember a local filmmaker pointing out the difference between 24 and 30 fps. It's subtle, but soap operas as probably the best metaphor to use, since everyone knows how they are shot.
There's only a few shows I can think of that seem to have two different shooting modes in the show itself: Lexx, that crummy sci-fi show from years ago, and Good Eats.
It'd be great if someone made a video showing how the modes are different, so the difference would be clear. Very nice video.
KingKool2099 2 years ago
Great video, and thanks for the info, but there are some movies this looks AMAZING in. Films like Cloverfield or Public Enemies or Heat... almost anything Michael Mann has filmed EVER looks awesome with motion smoothing cuz of how they're filmed. Most films, anything shot on Film in fact will look like ass.
Oh and try to get a copy of EpIII in 1080p and watch it with motion smoothing. Because of it's HD Cam nature it looks tits.
daftbottv 2 years ago
Gonna disagree with you. Those films with 360 degree slurred shutters look like ass. They managed to find a way to make 24p projected film like like fucking video. If I watched that WITH motion smoothing, I'd have to shoot myself in the face. And by the way, there are no Star Wars movies on Blu Ray yet.
RyanWieber 2 years ago
The Clone Wars is kinda a Star Wars movie and that's on Bluray, and apparently The Ultimate Star Wars Bluray boxset is coming out in a year or two, should be good if the rumors are true...
TheSnailsMovies 2 years ago
I know there are no Star Wars on Blu-ray yet. But they were on HBO in 1080p and I backed up my DVR'd copies of those to DVD-9 which is totally legal, and I'm able to play them in my PS3 which is nice.
OH and wondering if you've seen Adywan's cut of A New Hope. If not, I recommend you heck it out.
And to each their own. i like the look and feel of Mann's films. Especially Collateral and Miami Vice. Though the latter wasn't very good story wise.
daftbottv 2 years ago
I'm with Ryan. I refused to even see Public Enemies because the visuals looked like total shit. Mann's use of too-open shutters sets back people's acceptance of digital acquisition by several years each time he makes a movie. Cloverfield is the only even slightly acceptable one because it's supposed to be crummy home video. End shuttercrime now!
DorkmanScott 2 years ago
Yeah Cloverfield has good effects but it has a dissapointing ending i think
