all the in-bus shots made me wonder...was this made before the disability act was passed? no benches to lift up for wheelchairs to be anchored down....lol
I rode these buses when I was in the Air Force, back in the 70's. As I recall, someone broke into the TV studio (around 1980) and stole the Buppets from these TV spots. It was too expensive to make new ones. I still have one of the toy puppets that they sold. "Buster".
I don't like Busters new look.Sure bus styles change but they can do better than that. Why r his friends 4gotten? they were an important part of VIA's history.I love those kid friendly commericals & them putting cars& people who needlessly drive on trial for their WASTING MONEY crimes"HA!HA!HA!"
I loved it when the buppets put that car on trial for wasting all that gas&money to keep it running. The buppets said GULITY the car:I'M TAKING THIS TO A HIGHER AUTHORITY the buppets:THATS APPEALING they hoisted that mean car up in a magnetic crane.Buppets "take it easy.. the car"OKAY OKAY TAKE THE BUS!!"
Ho-ly crap, do I ever remember this advert. Every time I saw it on TV, I had the damn jingle stuck in my head. VIA did provide me with transport to my first job (a summer job when I was in High School).
This commercial I would say aired throughout the mid to late 80s I vaguely remember this commerical. If the transit laws were revisited to where a $5 motor vehicle tax per car registered and a $3 dollar renewal fee on Driver's Licenses as opposed to obtaining 70 percent revenue from a half a cent to 1 cent city sales tax money could go to all transit agencies and bus fares would be abolished, more people would use transit and carbon footprints would be reduced. Call/write your elected officals.
Yes a few of them do but the style of the Via driver changed. They seem to wear the light blue shirt with the navy blue pants although you see them wear navy blue shorts from time to time and blue jeans Rodeo week. The hat is dark blue now.
I remember the old San Antonio Transit green buses that ran before Via.I liked how they painted them the new Via colors to match the color of the new buses. They kept a few of them until 1992.
Yes, Windsor Park Mall closed last year due to high crime and poor sales from the stores. However, the building is enjoying a new life as headquarters for Rackspace, an Internet hosting company.
Wow! I forgot about this commercial! It's too bad they don't do stuff like this anymore. Good 'ol San Antonio needs to use VIA more! Bring on the light-rail! !

Those kids are happy because the bus has comfy seats unlike the toliet seats on the low floor buses

This Is Stupid. San Antonio copied VIA Rail Canada and its logo.

@hinglopl Look closely, it has a dot on the 'I' unlike Canada's which does not. But right. LOL
