I'm pretty anal but you have to be mentally ill to let banding bother you. If you get a static screen of a certain color, if you get close to the tv you can see a tiny color difference at some points of the screen.
Yes, you can hook it up to a PC, when he went to the VGA, and said "can you imagine hooking it up to your TV", he meant hooking this TV up to your PC.
He needs to learn his terminology. SDTV refers to the new digital 480i format *replacing* regular TV signal. SDTV isn't going to disappear in Feb. 2009 but "over the air" analog broadcasts will. Also, digital TV isn't necessarily HDTV. You don't *have* to buy an HDTV if you want to receive digital TV--- but of course *he* wants you to, and buy one from them. ;-)
What most people dont know is, high contrast ratio numbers are really more of a scam. The human eye can only detect something like 500-1 unless you are in a completly light controlled room, meaning no reflective surfaces whatsoever. So make the ratio whatever you want, but we still wont see it.
60" doesnt mean better...whats the specs...jus gimi teh model number and ill tell u what sucks......by far most sony tvs dont support onli 8ms response..which is shit cus the acous tvs have 4ms
You're not going to see cables coming off the edge of the TV because the input ports are not located near very edge of the frame. The ports are inset from the edge by several inches.
I stand corrected. There are a set of inputs located on the very edge of the TV but they are "convenience" ports. The primary input ports are located well behind the set so cables can still be hidden.

yes you can via vga s video or hdmi
luxurytech 3 years ago
Best quality with HDMI cables. You will need a computer that has a good video card or HDMI output. S-video is not as good.

10,000 to one contrast ratio is meaningless. The human eye will only detect 500 to 1. Sorry, but fail.

in theory and not in this situation, yes!
adrs2 3 years ago
you can hook up pc to any tv with hdmi cable without loss in quality - pixel2pixel qulity.
Because hdmi=dvi (almost). Use pc-dvi to hdmi-TV cable.

@justinsn95
It's just a number to generally reference the TV's overall performance.
They need to make up some kinda number for it cuz everybody else has one.
In REALITY, this TV has about a 4000:1 contrast ratio.
