My husband suffered a massive head injury that caused him to have a stroke 7 years ago. He was on life support, still in a coma and this song came on at 2 am on the little radio the nurses put in his room. I looked at the clock, and cried through this song like I had never cried before......it felt like it was being played specifically for me at that very moment. I still cant listen to it without the tears coming...
I can't help but think of a newborn baby singing this song asking his mother to "deliver me". Just imagine a dancing baby singing this song lol. Especially at the end, "so baby take me home again or set me free." :)

I agree with marcbldc7. Excellent singer. Great personality. His looks make him popular with girls like me, which he should consider a bonus...but looks alone don't do it for me. Roch has the full package. I am proud to call myself a Maritimer, along with him, even if I am not bilingual. :) I go to his concerts whenever possible and buy his CDs. Someone tell me, is there a greatest hits DVD out there I don't know about????? I'd watch the full thing in its entirely over and over.... LOL
I love this song. It's the sort of the song that's nice to listen to, when it's late at night and you're listening to easy rock on the radio while sipping a beer or a glass of wine.
He is also famous in Thailand. I was listening to this song since I don't know how to write English. Until now I still love this song and learn how to play guitar from his song too. He is #1 for me.
But to me he's One Of The Best "Canadian Singers" EVER...Not just one of the best singers in Canada..He huge in France & his Concerts in the States are always "Sold Out"! He lived in Los Angels for awile whil working on one his Albums (All Songs in English Album) ...
He is a national treasure that is for sure... One of his other songs " I Will Always Be There" is the song that I am going to have played as my first dance at my wedding with my future husband...
@marcbldc7 he's got an incredible voice, very surprised he hasn't made enroads in The States. I know he sings in french more than english but he does both well.
He has come many times in my area (Ottawa, Canada). I will go and see him again in October. I have seen him on tv when he went to France, hopefuly he will do a grand tour in the states someday that would be great. Have a great day!

Hello Suqbus -- I also like this version - for all I care he could sing the telephone book - but when he sings this in French it seems so much more powerful. BUT GOD DO I LOVE THIS SINGER´s WORK. HE IS AMAZING. How come Céline is more famous than him???
Because Celine's manager made sure she was known everywhere in the world, whereas Roch's manager made him popular in Europe and Canada, but didn't manage to crack the ever so tough american market.

I was at the Halifax concert in 97', as well, and I have to agree...it was one of the best concerts that I have ever attended. And, I have seen more than a few in my day. Roch and Amy rocked the roof off the Metro Centre. Pure talent.
