i real don't think a 30 second intro and a 15 second outro for a video thats up to 90 minutes long is really that big of deal. its the quality of the work yo put between that is what matters. people can be negative about it all they want, but when it comes down to it. i think the proof is in the pudding. just look at how many hits are videos get. because most people if they don't want to watch the intro they just skip it.

The only thing I will say and it's pretty much the same thing I told Jay. A 30 plus intro for a 9 minute show is long. That's just my opinion though. I mean, a 30 second plus intro for a half hour tv show is fine. For a 9-10 minute clip... just seems a bit much. But overall I like the tune man.

I think you're in the minority on that. 30 seconds is 30 seconds. Even out of 10 minutes or 5 minutes it's a short amount of time.

It's really not a big deal, because how easy it is to skip. But most people I talk to seem to agree that it's a little long for a short time. 30 seconds of 5 minutes is a tenth of the show. That seems excessive.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. Shorter shows have had longer intros, and when it comes down to it, many people base the quality of a show on their themes first, then the show itself.

TV shows that run half an hour usually have between 5 to 10 minutes worth of commercials. That's one sixth to one third of the show's airtime slot.

Why nitpick over a five minute youtube video that has a thirty second intro?

TV shows that run a half hour usually are twenty two minutes long on average Not five or ten. It's not about nitpicking. It's about being logical. I'm not sure if you know who the AVGN is, but he constantly changes his intro because he knows it's boring, and no one wants to sit through it every time.

I've sat through every one of AVGNs intros. What does it really matter anyway. If you're going to skip the intro,do so, rather than put four comments saying how you will do so.

@BitterPoetMadman - Of course I do, I've met him and worked for ScrewAttack's Gaming Convention, saw him again at MAGFest, and his intro hasn't changed dramatically in over a year. Your point being...?

The AVGN's song hasn't changed in about 4 years aside from the occasional techno mix or instrumental.

Some people hate it but I love it. I always sing along whenever one of his videos starts up.
