World Water Crisis

What's needed is more of a collective intelligence rather than blind followers, and that includes those who are so fully convinced of their correctness without thoroughly examining the feedback reality offers. If the majority of the collective are ignorant, of COURSE you'll have big problems that affect most of the people! It's time that people wise up and participate in the issues that involve their life rather than deferring to authority or again rationalize it away.

Simplistic rationalization tends to lack a long term ecological perspective. Any thinking person will acknowledge there is more to this issue, the politics for example. Yes there is ignorance on the part of those who are going without, there also happens to be other people taking advantage of that ignorance. It's not unlike a form of child abuse.

In Aruba all their drinking water comes from the ocean. They have a huge decelinization plant(Not sure on the spelling) PROBLEM SOLVED drinking water for the whole island. Now use the same process somehow on all the oil wells in the planet that bring up salt water and DONE. NO PROBLEM. I run 35 wells in Canada and all together make 450,000 Litres of water a day. It's called Technology and we as humans can do it.

the solution is to decrese the population on earth by making a colony on another planets before its too late, in the toime we need to conserve water. :)

look lack of humanity has nothing to do with it. If I were to worry about the whole worlds problems I would not be able to take care of my own. Water I use here has nothing to do with a supposed shortage somewhere else. My heart bleeds it's not that I don't care, it's just that I can't be held responisble for a nation of lazy people who won't help themselves.

wow it seems as if the only people who don't have water are the ones who screwed their own supplys up. I go swimming in good clean pure water every day.. maybe they should go get some of that water that" global warming" is melting in the artic. see no matter what happens mother nature has a way of making things ok. stop blaring the alarm bells like somethings happening when it's not, because when you really need it nobody will believe you.

Yeah, mother nature makes things OK. That's because you live in your own little world, with a closed mind. We are all interdependent. Everything is OK with you because you have the most powerful nation covering your back.

We are constantly taking resources from those places. How do you think it is that the US has 5% of the population of the world and consumes over 20% of the resources. It seems we are screwing them over, no?

no because we actually have more than 20% of the resources right here in the usa and feed most of the planet, not to mention provide most of the technological advances you exploit daily in your life. we are screwing nobody over, these nations are so caught up in religion they dont' spend any time working to exploit their own resources

I do travel almost constantly @ times. I have friends from all around the world from every natin. we use 20% because we earn it. & also becuase we have worked for it. nothing is stoppoingother nations from getting ahead but their own ignorant decission. I research on this constantly thank you for your input

Now see, my question would be why doesn't the world do itself a favor and kill you? Intellectual arrogance is not exactly a virtue, either. But to actually answer the question, there's probably a lot of ignorance, which involves belief that someone like you is actually valuable when in fact it doesn't take a genius to see predatory behavior. People with no valid viewpoint WOULD like things diluted, because that's the only way they can buffer themselves from the effect of the truth.

Even if "they" were responsible for the plight that they are in, you lack of humanity is stunning. Children growing up without access to clean water have no hope, and they are in no way responsible for the acts of their ancestors. People ARE blaring alarm bells because something IS happening. Thousands die every day because of this problem, but you blissfully swim, fortunate that you happened to have the luck to be born in a place that doesn't have these problems.
