Poor Steven...He didn't even know how to play "Down on the Farm" Izzy and Duff had to give him tips during the song so he could actually play it, and he did alright.

Stevens book "My Appetite For Destruction" is a bloody great read, I recommend and GnR fan to read it, you will find some hilarious shit in it :)

I was like 'New GN'R, bullshit, it's only Axl, with like a hundred other members who can't play shit', but then I saw them in Rock In Rio and I completely changed my mind. Of course they're NOT the real Guns N' Roses, they're definitely not the same, but they're pretty good. Just not as good as their name. Not GN'R, but a good band.

It's a bit rough around the edges but i think it sounds fantastic, after all it is an amazing song ...being rough around the edges (sometimes) is one of the reasons why i love them. They may not be the best at their respective job duty (so to speak) but they were and still are the band with just the most sheer raw energy you will ever see... G'N'R for life.

Izzy is totally missing from the mix, and I really wonder what the crowd was thinking at this point? Not the being at farm aid thing, but more about what fans would have been expecting, and to get Civil War instead.

Still; a strong version for a debut, but it needs Izzy during the build to the solos though.

Adler (flying high here) actually sounds pretty good, better than some of the demos out there for this song where he is on take 15 and totally lost.

wrong, it's ok if they played it slow, but steven couldn't keep the timing right, he was not sync with duff.. listen to 4:30-4:45, and 6:56- 7:30 he looses it big time, and not to mention that he didn't get the cuts right. it would've been ok if it was just this time but problems persisted in the studio and rehearsal.. it needed more than 40 takes for him to record just this song, i wonder how may would've been to get You could be mine.. and look at rock in rio... playing 4 1st time means jack!

Adler was a decent drummer. Sorum blows him out of the water on drumming ability. There is a reason Sorum has been an in demand drummer for 2 decades (The Cult, GnR, Velvet Revolver, plus countless guest appearances on albums of big artists), where as Adler fell off the map totally after GnR. And that reason is that Adler isn't near the drummer Sorum is.

The only time his name comes up is when people ask him about a reunion with the band, and notice, even Axl isn't asking him back. Personally I felt Adler's drumming on the first album was sloppy. Sorum on the Illusion albums was crisp and percise. I like crisp and percise. So for me, Sorum fit much much better. Some agree, some don't and it doesn't matter. Neither one is in the band now and won't be because Axl is a dick. How is it that I think VR is better because he "jumped right in" to Gnr? He plays tighter and more concise. As far as "only being in 2 bands worth mentioning", I liked him in the Cult BEFORE he joined Guns. And he was good in Guns. He also has done a mountain of session work. Adler's drumming is and was always sloppy. There is a reason Guns took no issue running him off. So he had 1 hit album and 1 ep and that's it. And what has he done since? Anything? Hmmm? So fuck you. Sorum is still around!

I agree UYI II was the much better album, but My World was just to odd LOL. UYI I had some great stuff on it for sure, but some of it, well, not so much. The best songs, in my opinion, on UYI II didn't even get videos back in the day, which sucks...(Locomotive & Pretty Tied Up). If you liked Appetite though, you should check out the Hollywood Rose demos. I've found a few, and they are great. Songs from Appetite, but even more raw. Friggin' awesome!
