Contrary to popular opinion, I actually think Britain is pretty good at sport; sometimes we win and when we don't we often come pretty close, though I think sometimes we can be called bottlers. So to see Kelly get this single, last chance and to take it so comprehensively and with the minimum of fuss is truly inspiring. One of my favourite Olympic moments.

If your a Team GB fan and watched Kelly Holmes struggle with injury for most of her career, you'd be hard pushed not to get choked up watching this video. Probably her only full season without injury and look what she achieved. We can only wonder what she would have won in all the years previously had she not been injured so much. One things for sure, she made me very very proud and turned me in to an emotional wreck at the same time when she won the 800 Gold. And all on my mum's birthday aswell

1) Her whole career she didn't have a sprint finish, FACT. 2)This olympics (2004) she was way more muscular than ever before. FACT (Look at other videos of her running in previous years, tiny!!!!) 3)Finally, look at the eyes @ 1:07. All overwhelming evidence that she was on drugs. All these people sticking up for her should realise it is very hard to catch a drugs cheat, often they give hundreds of samples before they are caught. She got away with it, fairplay to her. there is no proof at this time she took performance enhancing substances. she is the legitimate olympic champion. however, as fan of the sport i was shocked by kelly's appearance at the olympics, more shocked when i saw her at the 2002 commonwealth games. she certainly did not look like that in the 90s. i tried looking for pics or vids of her earlier races and i could not find any. was she that mediocre? she certainly transformed into a world beater in 2002.

Holmes was more likely than not on performance enhancing drugs, she looked like a man and was pumped up to hell. She's never looked like that before and he training partner was a known drug cheat.

to be fair you cant say she didnt show the quilty before her PB was from 1995 1.56.21 she won meadles at worlds and olympics before. Injury prevented her winning in other years she was a real favourite in 1997. She retired as she had achieved all she needed to she was 35 and been making majors for the last 10 years. why would she carry on?
