I just knew it was going to happen... A sweet young all grey cat my neighbor leaves outdoors all day has disappeared 4 days ago. They kept a water bowl outside for him while they were at work, wasn't that enough?. I hope he is ok and has a better home now. He is a friendly guy.
maybe it ran away..... perhaps??? had one run away as an adult, and return over 5 years later beggin for food like aint ish happen.. i love cats and animals, but sometimes they are kinda unpredictable.... and no abuse was made to the cat. we then took care of him till he died
Sweetvegan, tha nk you SO much for showing Foster's sad reality & condition due to abandonment & neglect. He is one of the very few lucky ones. Most do not find help, or touch any warm heart, but instead face persecution, harrassment, cruelty & abuse daily as they struggle to simply live & find a morsel of anything to stave off the terribly endless hunger pains. You do a service to these needful helpless creatures with this. And thank you, for helping Foster find salvation, love & life again.
I do this every day of my life. If other people just kept their furry family members properly, get them fixed. I would be out of a hobby that I would be thrilled to be rid of. But sadly that will never happen. People are too careless
how i found out that it was next door neighbors cat i was taking my cats out into the back yard to run around (i stayed with the cats) and the guy was going out somewhere and he said to me i had a cat just like that one 2 yrs ago so i told him i found BIG 2 yrs ago (the guy named him Dog) do u want him back i asked and he said no he seems happier living with you
i was living in massachusetts at the time and my next door neighbor tossed his cat out in the middle of winter. at the time i thought it was a little kitten outside so i went out and found a big grey cat so i brought Him in (i thought it was a girl until a vet checked him out) and put up lost cat posters no one claimed him (i also didn't know it was my next door nieghbors until 2 years later) anyway the cat is living with my sister now and his name is BIG
Once I'm out of college (In 6th grade now LoL), I'll make sure I will adopt 2 cats, then when they die happy, I will keep adopting more cats, 2 at a time
I can only do the fostering, that's heartbreaking if they die due to illness not caught soon enough. My heart and my spirt would be destroyed seeing all the pain that comes with rescuing like you do. I trapped a stray I was trying to get over the winter. Nothing was working, I called someone like yourself and BooBoo was caught, happiest day of my life turned to sadness. The rescuer was required to put him down. I cried and still cry. Most times I hate people. Cats are not disposable.
@sweetvegan74 She was quite a mess. Half her face was gone as well as do to Fiv illness ... I wasn't given the rest of the details. I now her mouth was missing something as she tried to eat. They also said she had trouble breathing. Because she was would be returning to life outside she had to be put down. She would not have survived on her own in that state.
I'm pretty sure it was a neighbours cat who moved without her. We saw her for a few months and then we didn't see her until 2 yrs later.
@sweetvegan74 I told them I would do everything for the cat BooBoo, however it was out of my hands. I had never hurt so much in all my life. To think folks would just move and leave behind a part of the family. MotherF****ers. Sorry!!! This is why I can only foster.
I know cats can live long and happy lives while having FIV and honestly I don't know for sure if she had FIV FeLV or FFV, all I know was that I trapped her to save her and they said she had to be put down.
I have seen a lot. I lost a cat to FIV and one of my cats has Felv but he is doing well thanks to treatment.
I foster and do TNR. I just rehomed a purebred persian that was terribly matted and left for dead in a back yard. I am now fostering an orphan kitten that I pulled from animal control. He has a bad eye cold and needs medicine for a week.
@boswellperkins Hi, for the time that he wasn’t hanging around, he could have gone to his new home and then returned to his old home. I have no idea if he did that, but by the look of him and how wild he was reacting, it was apparent that he was living on his own for a long time.
Beautiful animal. It's cruel that pet owners would throw their own cats and dogs out in the cold. Shame on them! Pets are not disposal like trash. They deserve better than this.
So glad you found him a forever home. And thank you for advocating for these precious beings.
Declawing is cruel, straight up, and when I hear about folks who declaw cats and then let them out and/or abandon them, I want to find those people and chop off their fucking hands.
Cats are resourseful and they can survive on their own, if they not declawed and used to the streets. Of course if they lived inside all the time and never seen a mice before the street can be a scary expirience.
the odd thing is...even though he may look awful to some people...underneath all that bad fur and skin....i can tell Foster is a truly beautiful cat, i can't imagine how anyone would neglect or abandon him.
i guess it's everywhere, although i've never lived anywhere else that i've seen so many stray animals, even dogs, especially stray and feral cats. in my area even most people who have cats, they're always outdoors, so far they stick around but i feel so sorry for them. most of our cats are local strays who adopted us, and the shelters here in california will just kill them after three to six days, so we have taken them in.
I actually cryed!

I'm sorry you lost the kitty. But you did your best for her otherwise she would of suffered a lot more.

Only neutered feral cats should be outside. House cats belong in the house. Period. I've seen too much in my life regarding rescue.

He is very outgoing and loves everybody he meets. Sometimes the best pets are the ones who were truly saved from deaths door.
