no offense but saying that his "fancy moves" are hard to hit is very ignorant if you guys check up the internet he did a lot demonstration already that his MOVES DOES HIT AND HITS VERY HARD and stop saying that there are thai fighters like buakaw could actually beat him when the people you point out mostly respects him and mostly of the ring fights are restricted to too many things if tony gets into a fight without rule anyone will have a really hard time with his anti-human almost flying moves

@drgknght921 The problem with his moves, no matter how hard they can hit and how accurate they can hit, is that it takes way too long to actually make the hit. A double twirl in the air before the kick lands? That gives an expert fighter a full second to hit him 2~3 times or dodge. Sure, the man can probably fight very well. But the flashy moves he showed in this vid will give way too many openings for a real fighter to hit him.

I wouldn't say Tony is the "best martial artist in the world," as some people do. He may be one of the best ACTOR-martial artists, but as far as technical martial arts goes, I think he has a ways to go.

He is trained in Muay Boran/Thai, and his MIXED style (seen in movies) includes:

- Muay Boran/Thai, Muay Koshasan ("elephant boxing")

- Taekwondo (all the fancy shit)

- Krabi Krabong (muay thai+weapons)

I wonder how his "style" would fare in a tournament...

it's ignorant for people to call jaa "the best fighter/great fighter" because first and foremost he is a showman/acrobat/gymnast/actor who happened to pick up martial arts along the way. now i won't take away that he is definitely skilled, but many of the moves he puts on the big screen are flashy and showy and able to sell tickets, although if they ever landed i'm sure it would be devastating. although he is very skilled, he is far from being the best (see buakaw)

Tony Jaa has nothing to prove as far as ability is concerned, I think you have under-estimated dedication, ability & execution for showmanship. Its more than just a visualisation for Tony Jaa at least. Its his life, its what he lives, and breaths. That is evident.The best fighter is just a title, and will fade as fast as these sorts of films do, but Tony Jaa's work will remain as a focal/turning point in martial arts.

i didn't question his skill and dedication. what i did point out is the title of "best/great" fighter when he has not had a real fight (that anyone knows of). it's like saying jet li is the best fighter (extremely skilled in wushu but has never fought). from what i remember he picked up the art of muay boran while he was a stunt man, not a life long practitioner as some people think. not doubting his ability, just saying he isn't the best.
