no offense but saying that his "fancy moves" are hard to hit is very ignorant if you guys check up the internet he did a lot demonstration already that his MOVES DOES HIT AND HITS VERY HARD and stop saying that there are thai fighters like buakaw could actually beat him when the people you point out mostly respects him and mostly of the ring fights are restricted to too many things if tony gets into a fight without rule anyone will have a really hard time with his anti-human almost flying moves
@drgknght921 The problem with his moves, no matter how hard they can hit and how accurate they can hit, is that it takes way too long to actually make the hit. A double twirl in the air before the kick lands? That gives an expert fighter a full second to hit him 2~3 times or dodge. Sure, the man can probably fight very well. But the flashy moves he showed in this vid will give way too many openings for a real fighter to hit him.
@Sanquinity But if it was a video of normal punches and kicks it wouldn't be as entertaining. I can any half decent fighter throw a punch with expertise. But this guy is just portaying athletic and entertainment abilitys.
@magiknbarz I was talking about the moves in this vid specifically. No doubt he is a master at martial arts, that's definitely visible from some of the movements he did. He's just going for flash instead. It looks like this vid is more of a movie choreograph compliation anyway.
An this, my friends, is why I love Muay Thai. An expert in the art can attack from every conceivable angle or position and still land a knockout blow.
It's extremely powerful, fast, and effective in both ring fighting and in practicle self-defense situations.
@jstitt13 lmao, tony jaa is one of the worlds best at a achient martial arts style called Muay Boran, a extreamly dangerous technique designed for protection of war elephants, that incorporates a fatal or incapacitating strike every time... if he entered the ufc using this style, st pierre would most likly die in the first 30 seconds of the fight, and that is just 1 of the many styles hes good at, tony jaa is far beyond the likes of anybody in the UFC
I wouldn't say Tony is the "best martial artist in the world," as some people do. He may be one of the best ACTOR-martial artists, but as far as technical martial arts goes, I think he has a ways to go.
He is trained in Muay Boran/Thai, and his MIXED style (seen in movies) includes:
@reloadindontshoot ...To much bullshit come out from your mouth...He is maybe the best martial arts fighter of all time...He's not just an actor,he's real fighter....So,whatever he does in the movies,he can do it for real... :)
it's ignorant for people to call jaa "the best fighter/great fighter" because first and foremost he is a showman/acrobat/gymnast/actor who happened to pick up martial arts along the way. now i won't take away that he is definitely skilled, but many of the moves he puts on the big screen are flashy and showy and able to sell tickets, although if they ever landed i'm sure it would be devastating. although he is very skilled, he is far from being the best (see buakaw)
Tony Jaa has nothing to prove as far as ability is concerned, I think you have under-estimated dedication, ability & execution for showmanship. Its more than just a visualisation for Tony Jaa at least. Its his life, its what he lives, and breaths. That is evident. The best fighter is just a title, and will fade as fast as these sorts of films do, but Tony Jaa's work will remain as a focal/turning point in martial arts.
i didn't question his skill and dedication. what i did point out is the title of "best/great" fighter when he has not had a real fight (that anyone knows of). it's like saying jet li is the best fighter (extremely skilled in wushu but has never fought). from what i remember he picked up the art of muay boran while he was a stunt man, not a life long practitioner as some people think. not doubting his ability, just saying he isn't the best.
Lets face it.Jackie Chan,Jet Li,Wu Jing,Donnie Yen has been inspierd of Bruce and are so much better then him but this guy has really push the limits. The best of the best.Tony Jaa the best martial artist in the world.
lol why are people comparing bruce lee and tony jaa??? thats stupid, 1st of all bruce lee's greatest accomplishment is no making films beating up people like tony jaa, bruce lee is the first to teach martial arts to people other than asian people on the west and developing his own martial arts.
this whole bruce lee thing needs to stop the man is a sheer legend and he will forever b missed but the one thing bruce lee had that made him so deadly was 2 things, speed and accuracy. everything he did traveled the shortest distance yet had the most impact making him very distinctive, but. thats all, look at tony jaa the guy is a spinning, fliping, kicking, punching, elbowing, kneeing, bone breaking master. tony jaa is alot more intersting to watch and way more impressive. tony jaa is the shit
even though tony jaa can do flips n stuff, bruce lee is a better fighter than tony jaa. I am not saying tony is bad, but bruce was better. tony is the best fighter now, but before it was bruce.
bruce was awesome still is in my opinion he brought to screen things some never thought possible, but so has tony jaa and many others im sure.
bruce is held in such high regard its almost impossible to consider someone superior, if only by a fraction. i love lots of martial arts movies i have all bruce lees stuff, but i have to say no one has impressed me more than tony jaa! and that was only with 2 movies of his, cannot wait for more.
you guys think Tony Jaa is the best ,will let me tell you about bruce lee, bruce lee was number one real fighter in age of 18 years old ,he became the world sperhuman by doing the one finger push up and the one inch punch only at age of 18 years old
today jackie chan considers by professional analysts of martial art movies as the best star of the world and i believe so because after bruce lee died there were nobody who changed this empty place as a result jackie chan became popular and became instead of bruce lee...he made more in this area than bruce lee...unfortunately bruce lived very short
ummmmm let me tell you something.... jet li did 1 finger pushups when he was 16.... tony jaa can do one finger pushup..???? .... dude just look at the athletic ability of tony jaa..... bruce lee is good but if he was here competing with alot of other martial artist he would just be good but not the best. think about it kid... onefinger push up to become a legend?? listen to your self.. tony jaa was a poor muayboxer that got noticed by a tourist..so ya shut your mouth
if you ever get on tony jaa's shit list. run. though its not gna do u any good cuz he will catch u. so the moral is. dont steal his elaphants

There's little to say about Tony Jaa. He makes compliments deficient. Jaws swinging by their hinges say it all.
VallleyAnt 2 years ago 2
Bruce is not only known for his fighting, but also, something we forget. Struggling to put martial art on the map in movies and around world.
and for what we see today, movies in a majro scale for martial arts.
Each one is great for their era. Bruce for then and memories of his work today. This guy for today and memories to come.
I'm sure tony would say same due to respect and integrity he will have.
