  • Nice angle, almost 45 degrees. Looks more like 40-42, slightly low, but very very good. The only mechanical thing I see is that (according to the arrows) he is trying to "pull" the foot back. You aren't pulling, the thing is just that you are crossing the trail leg forward. It is percieved as pulling, but in reality, the foot is staying in the same position as the other (trail) leg is moving forward and about to "PUSH" down and back. Remember, push, not pull.

  • how far were these throws going or what is his/ your pr?

  • It's illegal in my state

  • @donyew the best way to keep it flat is to rotate your carrying shoulder towards your body slightly, keeping your knuckles towards the sky. If you do this it'll make it very akward to have a low carry so you're almost forcing yourself to keep the jav level. I also find trying to run with the jav pointed down helps. Hope this will help you out!

  • I'am 14 years I throw official 42.85 and throw training 46.51.. javelin throw is cool ..

  • i have a problem with not being able to plant my left foot. any suggestions on how to work on getting that down?

  • Not boasting or aything but i am lucky, i have the Perfect block leg and i am 13. i throw 38.40 and 2nd in my county. 1.10M away from 1st. the best block leg is bent when foot plants then it straightens up

  • @morganyoungjavelin What country exactly is this?

  • @morganyoungjavelin .... um i dont know what county u were coming from..but 38.40 at 13 really isnt that good...

  • @nickos816 well, 55.21 at 14 is 13th all time in the UK under 15, and thats what i threw the season after that post, so suck ma dickk

  • Why do you use Thorkildsen as an example.

Zelezny was better in technique, the best.

  • zelezny uses a rotational throwing technique that is too technical to emulate off of simply watching a video. Thork wraps the tale of his jav a little, but his delivery is still much more linear and "textbook" in nature

  • I have no problems with my steps, but i can't seem to keep my angle flat. It is like pointing sky-high. Any ideas how to change that?

  • you have to keep it right at eye level and a good drill is to do your steps like you are going to throw but after your block dont throw and just hop right out of the penultimate while concentrating on keeping the jav angle low

  • Good stuff.... the athlete would do even better to keep the left arm swing of the early crossovers in the penultimate: across the chest again rather than held a bit stiffly. Well done overall!

  • i have the perfect float with my steps but i cant seem to keep my left leg straight on the last step when i plant and throw

  • It is difficult but you need to think about "falling" on your left leg. Think about keeping your right leg bent after it touches down. Its almost as if a pin hinge is going through your right toe. Then you should be able to plant that left leg straight and it should feel like your plant leg femur is going to "shoot" out through your butt. Just some thoughts

  • I admire his throwing, thanks allot you know hit the main thing!
