It truly is a sad time when great artist Like J Lo (and I really do admire her greatly I wish I could meet her but thats another time) run out of ideas that they have to copy classics from the 80's and back ,Its like the recording artist of today have lost that beautiful edge of oringinality...
Before J-Lo came out with 'on the floor' the first Kaoma video was being viewed 125,000 times per day. After J-Lo's video came out the Kaoma Lambada I was promoting got 250,000 views per day. People learned very quickly where the rythm came from. If you want to learn the names of everyone in the video click on my name and come to my lambadafan site.

Already a classic. In my eyes and ears at least. My music won´t reach that status, but it comes from my heart (so you know in what condition my heart must be), made with more passion than talent. The Beach-Video with the four supermodels was filmed, believe it or not, in my basement! So you´re welcome to check it out, if you got nothing better to do. Ay caramba
@Tabifactor No, she sampled the song. She asked for legal rights to do it. Everyone in the music industry does it, so it's not stealing at all when the original artists knows.
i would just appreciate it if the bands/artists who cover or reincorporate parts of older songs would give proper credit to the originals, so everybody, especially the younger generation, would know without much research it actually has been there before.
i think cover versions of older songs are trendy because the originals are still quite catchy and if you don't know them you can find them to be "cool" without having to admit you are listening to something your parents already considered "cool" ^_^
i for myself like both the Kaoma original and the J-Lo cover; it's kind of a completely different song though imho because they are just using the (admittadly very catchy) chorus and the lyrics are different.
This is the original and J Lol as always can't come up with an original hit.. I was dancing this when I was 14 years old. Good memories and good dancing!! Keep the Originals alone wanna be singers :-P
MUITO BONITA ESSA MÚSICA, CHORANDO SE FOI COM O GRUPO KAOMA. LEMBRANÇAS DE MINHA ADOLESCENCIA, ENTRE 1989 A 1993. SAUDADES DA LAMBADA. SEPULDATA JUNTO COM A SUA HISTÓRIA. SAUDADES!!!
Actually Kaoma's version is a remake, as well. The song was originally a Bolivian song called 'Llorando se fue' by Kjarkas. YouTube it! Love all the versions, though!
@cherrytrumpet Kaoma actually did not know anything about this song. Kaoma copied after Marcia Ferrera's version. Marcia is the one who recorded this lambada song with the consent of the composer Ulisys Hermosa, member of Los Kjarkas.
Jlo actually ruined this song.. She's desperate in her music career and wanted some sort of club hit. Don Omar did justice to the original song by staying true to it and adding the Spanish lyrics it.. Don Omar song is called "Taboo".. Jlo sucks.. Arriba Kaoma! Hermosa! Chico y Roberta!!!
Song : Llorando se Fue (brazilians call it Lambada)
rithm : Saya (bolivian rithm of african root)
Composers: Los Kjarkas (Bolivian citizens)
Patrimony: B o l i v i a n
Imitators: Kaoma, Wilkins, Jlo, White ravens, Band Saturn, Mandril, Macacas of the Amazons, there are 1,500 imitators around the world from all continents.
this isnt the original either. its from band called 'los kharkas' then kaoma did it in portuguese which is beautiful. this is my favourite. but i like j-los song too, because it is 'on the floor'. get the diffference people. one day everything will finish and u will have to use other peoples idea. plus its good that other artists interpret a song into their own. shows that they care and enjoy that song as well. just like adele 'rolling in the deep' got her idea from 'promise this' by cheryl cole
This isnt original either.....the song "LLORANDO SE FUE" was the song Lambada was copied from.......so dont try to go off on JLO cuz KAOMA aint original either
Love this Song
