@cropsey7 hehe..What do you use to cut steel? cropsey sends me a picture of a lathe mill thing :) Nice - I ended up just picking up a cut off wheel for my chopsaw..it sucks..but it works :)
Is that yellow steel (the part closer to the cab) is it bolted down or u put it in there? Because i know on the 90s models trucks they dont have a tie down hook on the bottom part of the bed.
love it! awsume vid. I like to dabble around myself. one thing though, I gota chop saw and I hate it! I bought one of those china made band saws and added at coolant pump and a varible hydralic feed. its a great little machine. you would enjoy it far better than that chop saw.
you did a good job....ive put bundles of steel in my ol '94 silverado years ago...and it would sag like aunt sallys ass...did supporting it out of the hitch receiver take some of the sag out???
Just wondering, why don't you build or find a used utility trailer? I have a 5x10 trailer I used to tow with my Caravan, as long as I didn't load it with more than 3000lbs it handled it like a champ. The bad thing was towing puts stress on all the parts, which is why I used my beater van instead of my nice truck. Use that 2.8 S10 of yours as a tow vehicle, that truck is too nice to use for towing, keep it around for a long time.
Hey for that chopsaw plug a powerstrjp to it then run extension cord so if it does trip it will be right there to reset also you should by PVC with end caps so you can put round stock in there.
@robby844 it won't burn anything down, the saw is drawing the max of what the breaker is set for (15 Amps) just running without cutting. It will draw more if you push on it a bit. If something goes wrong it'll still trip the 20 amp before any wires burn.
@ForeverRotts so why cant he just put a 30 amper in? if it wont burn anything down. it all depends on the wiring in the building. i have a 15 amp breaker and run my old black and decker chop saw and stall it and it never trips. but it will trip with that and a grinder working.
@robby844 Because a 30 amp is to high for the circuit. His shop is probably wired with 14/2. It could also be caused if he's using a long extension cord and if something else is on that same circuit. We had the same problem at work and the electrician changed out the 15 amp for a 20 and we didn't have any problems again.
What kind of blade do you use to cut steel?

change out the 15 amp breaker for a 20 amp as the saw draws 15 amps. You'll be forever tripping a 15 amp breaker.

@ForeverRotts then youll just burn the building down :D
