I don't know that I may have overlooked the date this vid was recorded. 'm thinking late 80's. Sure are some fine people on that stage, people like Emmylou Harris. I think I have been in love with Emmylou all my life. I cannot recall how many times I've seen her live along with the "Outlaws" we so enjoyed hearing live music throughout Texas in the 70's.
I had more fun in the 70's. in my twenties! I guess my generation was the last of the "baby boomers". I never saw Mark Knopfler live . Interesting he is among this group of artists.
In answer to the JEW 'S question , "my premise concerns the american way " NO JEW CAN BE REGARDED AS PIONEER AMERICAN " On the contrary , jews in america have done what hitler prevented them from doing in germany ! Now jews have invaded in every venue of commerce ,their dominence has brought america to being nothing more than a supporter of ISRAEL ! THIS MUST STOP !
Well for one thing I am a Zionist not a JEW, as far as your quote "NO JEW CAN BE REGUARDED AS PIONEER AMERICAN" proves how little you know a bout the land you claim to love. For instance did you know Haym Solomon was the largest private individuals to finance the revolution? He gave over $ 200.000 toward the revolution..later on he went bankrupt because he never was paid back. The New Haven legislator adopted legal codes 79 of those 79 virtually all were from Mosaic law ..continued
Continued pt.2 So popular was the hebrew language that 17 and 18th century what you might call "the pioner era that in the 17th and 18th century students from Yale , Harvard , Columbia , Brown , Princeton , John Hopkins and the Univercity of Philidelphia recitd thire disertation in in HEBREW. LOVETHEMAN, LOVETHESONG. Named my son sfter him in 78. "I would walk through Hell on Sunday to see my Rose in Paradise". R.I.P. WAYLON. Thanks for post........
@kountryboy338 A rich banker marries a beautiful woman and moves her into his mansion. The banker was extremely jealous and hired a gardner to watch over her while he was gone. The gardner either ran off with the wopman or the banker killed them both but, either way he misses her and sits in the garden thinking about her.
This show "Chet Atkins, Certified Guitar Player" was just on my local PBS station last night. I was was hoping I could find this clip of Waylon. Great man....cool song. Also Emmy Lou Harris and the Everly Brothers on backup vocals.
This was a TV special called "Chet Atkins - Certified Guitar Player". I taped it off TV probably 20 years ago and still watch it from time to time. Amazing lyrics, one of a kind voice.
@tommyboy39- hey, whats the good of posting if ya dont read ? i read mostly. well, those roads are all paved now, but i still got that truck. for me, the beer is no good. never got rid of her and only made me think this song in a diffrent way.
this song sure reminds me of the good ole days. that you here people talk about. the years ago memories and the woman we lost memories. and just simply the beer drinking while driving a truck down that old dusty roads memories. with memories like that then a man can die knowing that he once lived and had fun and loved most of all. priceless my friends. rip waylon and thanks for the memories. god bless you and youre familly.
@cntrybabygrl388 they still have some artists that do this kind of stuff, they just don't play them on Top 40 stations anymore, check satellite Outlaw Country channel... that's where I get MY fix ...
Waylon was new into recovery at this time, right? he had supposedly got off the hard chit! gotta respect that for those like me that have been through that suicide!
played faster?? i think it might have something to do with the cocaine? but maybe they only had so much time. either way you're right it is better. he sure could pick a lead guitar. i always liked the part on country music awards show where willie was getting a pioneer award and Waylon was saying on camera that willie didn't have no damn rhythm that was price less. rip waylon
Could have been the drugs but I think it was more his and Richie's style to rock it up like that. Mental Revenge and Jack-A-Diamonds are great examples of this!
Waylon kicked the drugs in 1984. I believe Rose in Paradise was his last number one hit, 1987. Waylon was absolutely the best and i have heard no one that can come close to his talent. I also love Jack-a-diamonds.
In most cases Waylon's live performances are faster than his recordings for some reason and I like them better that way (faster). I can't even listen to the recorded version of "Are you ready for the country" anymore...
I have never herd this Waylon song. I like it so much I will record it and post it on You Tube. Hope the host lets Working Without A Net be posted here. Sherrill
haha a star haha ye he found a star who became a bloddy legend and in my opinion the greatest country music singer of all time we all love waylon jennings wel ppl who appreciate gd music anyway
I just love this song and think it is one of Waylon's best. He looks so happy and healthy. But even more so, his voice is just so terrific. The tempo is defintely fast. I don't think Chet Atkins could keep up with it. The song just seems to have been made for Waylon. I really don't know of anyone else who has ever recorded this song. Probably is someone else out there who does.
This song is one of my many Waylon favorites. However, I think the timing is a lot faster than he performed it on his records/CDs. What I also really like is that Waylon looks so well and happy with himself and his music singing this song. Clean and sober definitely looked good on him. Waylon was definitely one of a kind.
I would like to see someone make a movie about this song. When I hear this song I can see the bankers pretty wife. And him telling people he would walk thru hell on sunday to get her back. That's love baby, that love!!!
Who else but Waylon would have the Everly Brothers and Emmylou Harris backing him up on vocals and Chet Akins and Mark Knopfler backing him up on guitar? This is one of my most favorite Waylon songs... well hell, they're all my favorite, but still...
Kind of funny you say WFJ. When I am referring to somebody being the best at what they do I always pull the WFJ line out! Example: "He is the Waylong F@*king Jennings of trucking..." :)
I seen Buddy Jewel sing this song on the Grand Ole Opry live about one year ago..He would have made Waylon proud! The crowd went wild! I love the song!! Thanks for posting!!

If they ever make a movie based on this song I hope they do a better job than they did with "Ode to Billy Joe"!!

Who else but Waylon would have the Everly Brothers and Emmylou Harris backing him up on vocals and Chet Akins and Mark Knopfler backing him up on guitar? This is one of my most favorite Waylon songs... well hell, they're all my favorite, but still...

Who is the guy who introduces Waylon??

Just three words say it all:
"Waylon F@#king Jennings"!!!!!!

Kind of funny you say WFJ. When I am referring to somebody being the best at what they do I always pull the WFJ line out! Example: "He is the Waylong F@*king Jennings of trucking..." :)
