  • love casino

  • This song brings you too a natural high,

  • One of most beautiful OST.What a beautiful music.

  • Where the fuck you get off talking to people behind my back goin' over my head?

  • casino, forget bridgette bardot

  • fans of this should check out the fantastic naked city cover.

  • ...just found and bought on 7"- God bless you Americans...

  • Le parole non possono descrivere le sensazioni di questa canzone.

  • one of the most beautiful songs i ever heard

  • This reminds me of the movie Casino when Joe Pesci was driving to the desert to meet Robert Deniro.

  • beautifully seductive music,!

  • this music doesn't even need lyrics to strike a chord with your heart

  • Besides Casino and of course Contempt, what else has this been used for? It sounds so familiar. It reminds me of Nyman's score for Gattaca or something Giacchino did for Lost, which I'm sure they were inspired by.

  • I H8 THIS SONG lol jk

  • j'adore cette musique, un desespoir qui passe...

  • @starman424 I don't speak french but I understood, I hope it gets better.

  • This score floored me (and apparently Brigitte too! ). I was certain it was a centuries old classic by a master composer. I had to let my dvd play on Menu for an hour. How can one piece of music encapsulate so much beauty & suffering all at once?

  • Wow, I can't believe this was a score for a movie, it seems like it would have been made in mozart's time

  • Best. Score. Ever.

  • @ Richard, google SD'quotes..

  • Who gives a s*** about what movie it came from. It is music to be listened to. Not argued over.

P.S. I would have never heard this song had it not been for Casino.

  • haunting movie, haunting score.not to forget that beautiful naked behind.

  • Hearing this makes me want to dig another hole in the desert.

  • Never realised it was in the casino soundtrack, amazing movie.

  • the theme in the movie went differently in the ending, dose anyone know where i can find the film version, not the shortened casino version?

  • scorsese like tarantino, just making and or taking creations from others...like Salvador Dali said true artist is not the one who creates but the one who steals...

  • @cineasta71 Salvador Dali said that?...

  • Three shots, articulated with the main sections of the music to illustrate this unforgettable score. Simplicity. This is by far the best self-made video for Delerue's music for THE CONTEMPT I've seen on here,

    cheers!!!

  • I watched Casino today and was struggling really hard to place this despite just having watched Contempt earlier in the year. Beautiful theme, two very good films (thought the Godard is clearly the superior achievement, of course)

  • absolutely brilliantly used in casino, perfect timing and effect

  • who's the chick @ 1:57 ??!

  • @CubeLuda "the chick" per say, is bardot..the most beautiful lady. Ever.

  • Delerue's score for the film is absolutely gorgeous.

  • THE SONG...GOD,THIS IS...wow

  • @elemarak Amazing stuff for sure. So sad...

  • casino and contempt are completely different. just because contempt is old doesn't make it stale and just because Casino is new it doesn't make it shallow. either way the song is awesome.

  • Such a good selection for Casino.

  • Is available on itunes?

  • Indeed

    Camille - GEORGES DELERUE

  • The music is great. Brigitte was fantastic in it, but I didn't like the movie at all.

  • You're right, PureSoap. This movie is a critics' darling, a sacred cow, and several high-profile revivals over the last few years have hoodwinked a new generation of filmgoers into thinking it's a masterpiece. But it's not: at best it's a rather empty curiosity. I say this as a Godard fan: I love quite a few of his films, but CONTEMPT is a misfire.

  • @goback3spaces, thank you very much! I do appreciate your words. I am so glad to hear that someone agrees with me. And I know exactly what you mean. God Bless my friend!

  • Goback3spaces, I agree with you, pretty much. But damn, this music! Sublime and unnerving. Delerue and Bardot make 'Contempt' haunting, and one forgets how truly tedious much of it is.

  • Yeah, fab music, Mademoiselle. As for Brigitte, she was gorgeous in the movie, but was she indeed "fantastic"? Godard was in love with her behind, as any guy would be, I suppose, but I wonder how good she'd have been as Lady Macbeth.

  • Oh, dear! I never said that BB was "fantastic"! Only that she is "haunting" in 'Contempt.'

  • @goback3spaces well I ve got both feelings when I watch it

u r right it is rather empty , there s no action and I hate it when cinema talks about cinema

still , that red car, the beautiful villa, BB, the growing contempt, have altogether an enthralling perfume that makes the movie so special it still is less boring as many action movies

  • @itnow Perhaps. I'd have to see it again, without the influence of all those who think it one of the greatest movies ever.

  • good

  • 5* for quality ;)

  • @Rachegotter:

i agree. But a question....what we hear both? But yes, there are a lot of morons on this

  • @Rachegotter

    you arrogant fuck.

  • It fits to my moods right now....sadness and in doubt...this music also makes me feel so small and humble.. then its beauty touches my heart and then there is hope...again...

  • awesome !

  • This song is very beautiful ^_^ !!! It puts my heart at peace and makes my wonder ^_^ !!!

  • lOVE THIS.

  • Well, a smoothy sound in deed - well arranged and composed. Just like in betwwen of Morricone's and Elgar's

  • i can listen to this all the time

  • wow this version is in STEREO yaaaayyyyy

  • beautiful...i must say

i like the begining and the end

  • by far the best classical song there is its utterly superb and blows me away everytime i listen 2 it

  • i have no words for this track, i am still listen to it. the music sparked a fire in me.

  • Haunting,haunting, haunting

  • First heard this in Casino, where DeNiro goes to meet Pesci in the desert. 'You said I was bringin' HEAT ON YOU?!' Great tune.

  • hehe, watched this movie yesterday, but I knew this great song before. But wasn't it a kind of remix in the movie?

  • It might be... I dunno. I got the soundtrack on CD and it sounded pretty much like this.

  • thanksss , good song ,

  • magnifique! utterly penetrating!

  • This music is from Le Mepris

  • Italian?

  • french.

  • tragic, dreaming, lovely

  • its realy one of the best!!!

  • agreed

  • one the best score of all time: tragic, dreaming, lovely.

  • This music should remind you the beautiful Brigitte Bardot, not Casino

  • second that !

  • look at these people, four thumbs down for me simply because i share a different opinion. lesser mortals....

  • @rafadv2 Works both ways for me, but primarily for Contempt.

  • @rafadv2

    bonjour.

a l'origine georges delerue l'a composé pour le mepris mais le morceau a été egalement choisi pour le film casino.

    cordialement

  • @rafadv2 - Why is that ? The ending of Casino is dramatic, the music fits perfectly.

  • @2BlowVEVO 'But in the end, I wound up right back where I started. I could still pick winners, and I could still make money for all kinds of people back home. And why mess up a good thing?'

  • @rafadv2 Sorry, I know by advance that this comment will rise contempt -so to speak - but I HATE Godard and I love Scorsese's work - though I am French, this may have no connection at all. Didn't they told you that taste is subjective, as one might say ? So, this is not because in cinema schools they only have eyes for f...ing Godard that I would follow the herd.

As the commercial once said : "Think different".

  • @rafadv2 The way I see it, they're both great films, and Scorsese uses the best music in his films. That closing scene is memorable, and part of the reason is because this music makes it that much better. Both films are classics

  • its from Godard's 1963 movie Contempt. 3 years after Delerue's death in 1992, Scorsese used it in Casino...

  • perfect

  • btw, is this digitally remastered? the sound quality is so much better than the one i have... that's why i keep coming back to listen to it :)

  • melancholic and deeply moving, i can listen to it over and over again...

  • i remember this from casino.

  • amazing....best scene in the movie when Joe Pesci and De Niro talk in the desert

  • one of the best. there were so many good ones.

  • musique bouleversante , pour le meilleur des Godard

  • à chaque fois, cette musique me bouleverse
