Its really funny because Patrick used to SUCK live. Seriously go back and watch some of there videos when they were touring, promoting "From Under the Cork Tree". Some of its reaaaaallly not good. Stumps still one of the most talented musicians of the last 10 years for sure. And in regard to the war thing....this song isn't about war. Mark Hoppus has a fender signature Bass and he plays pick style. I think its more about how well know the bassist is. I think pick style has it's own merits, double stopping is easier and you get a little more cut which is great for a rock sound. Jason Newstead had to replace a finger picking metal bassist and he coped all right. but I would agree finger style is probably best. and I would also say Pete Wentz is a poor all round musician
