  • love this song...

  • i loved her X

  • Its great that Sally Anne Huckstep has not disappeared into the past and her name lives on.

  • there playing dee why lizzottes in oct

  • I've never seen SpyvSpy live. Way back in around '87-88 a friend came back from Oz and said "hey, you should listen to this band" and went on to explain the story behind Sallie-Anne. I was immediately hooked and after all these years, I am absolutely rapt to find this video, long after losing the bootleg cassette I'd been given. Fantastic.

  • General Bourke Parra.... with mi sis.... right up against the stage....fought for a bit of broken drumstick (n got it thanx) AWESOME noight!!! Poor kids of today. Totally agree with most comments

  • SystemResistor very true. I'm still getting old though. Hahahahahaaha

  • Cliff Grigg.............awesome!!

  • Comment removed

  • Followed the oils round oz, always got there early for these guys!

  • going to see the Spys on thur 16th dec 2010 in dee why. looked online and theres 2 bands, spy v spy and vpsyspy. but should be a great flashback to the 80's.

  • @Philip2096 Hey mate just moved to syd from melb, lost my only cd...any ideas on where to source another? or any svs on disk, vinyl or itunes?

  • Because of this song, I went to Centennial Park a couple of years ago, thinking of Sallie Anne...

  • this was one of the greatest pub bands ever

  • They were great in their inception at the Sydney Trade Union Club. They had some good early recordings including the instrumental 'Table tea & Mix' which have not been uploaded.

  • In the eighties I saw the Spys at the Entertainment Centre - Sydney with an Irish Band with Bono Scott. I can't remember their name. While Bono Scott was singing the crowd were screaming for the Spys. Old song stirs the memory

  • Music just aint the same now.

  • Anyone seen Snowblind from the same show posted? If you have, please post the link.

This is The Spy's at their best!

  • These songs still sound so fresh.....

  • Sally Anne was beautiful

  • Craig that vocal of yours will never be topped or even matched in ozzy rock. Thanks for your contribution to my musical taste. Hope to try some of your cooking one day as well. LOL

  • what a voice fuckin great band

  • ahh the tivoli night club , fond memories pulled down to make a high rise , when are the boys going to tour melbourne , haven't seen them since late 80's

  • Long live the Spys

  • Blue murder sydney is still full of corrupt cops

  • What a great tribute to a woman who refused to sit by and watch injustice, corruption and the murder of her lover go unheard. Think whatever you like about Sallie Anne Huckstepp and her choices in life but think about the bravery and conviction and admire those qualities if not anything else. Thank you spy vs spy and rest in peace Sally

  • A very fitting tribute to Sally a woman who I have great admiration for. Sally Anne thought against the injustice of police brutality corruption and the murder of the man that she loved, she knew she would die for speaking up and ultimately died for her beliefs she is a true hero. Thanx spy vs spy for paying tribute to Sally Anne a woman who truly deserves it!

  • Where is Robbo? The biggest Spys fan of all time!!!!!

  • Craig Roberts?

  • Geoff Robinson

  • ok ...must be a 'Robbo' an army of Spy fans ;-)

  • jesus they were good live etc

  • Wow! What a wonderful trip down the memory lane of teenage angst. Loved this band!!!!

  • Awesome.. onf of my favourite Spys songs! I saw them live a few times, they were brilliant!

  • The Caringbah Inn ... ... lots of great bands and lots of memories ... ... shame I now live half a world away!!!

  • last year mum told dodgy Rodger Rogerson to move his fucken car at bunnings here on the coast...he was the reason Sally Anne Huckstep was murdered in centenial park years ago in the pond. thats why this song was written about the original underbelly of Australia...the corrupt cops...

  • Awe your mums hardcore. Bricks - he was shitting.

  • she could have bitch slapped the little man down in one hit.. hahahah!!!

  • Thanks bimbo, forgot about the radiators, good band. Lots of good pub bands here in Perth, when they get a chance to play somewhere.

Check out Birds of Tokyo, local band, good shit.

  • gotta agree with you rocco, sigh.... i miss the ol 80's bands, the oils, sunnyboys, spy vs spy, radiators,,,, wish those days could come back... (i must be getting old too)

  • agree.. remember 3 bands for $15! now its $400for 1 crap band

I think the issue is there are no venues left, or if there are, they want too much money or are seen as too small

Remember seeing Midnight oil, Rads, Spys, Angels, dozens more all at Caringbah Inn... and that area was TINY...

We need another massive concert just with 80's aussie bands.

  • supply the beer and bourbon and they will come!!!! hahaha...id love to do a concert like that...get to mix all my favs from the eighties...

  • Haaa good old Caringbah Inn, no more bands there now, in fact even the bottle'o has gone. I remember seeing the Divinyls there in 87 but only really remember 5 mins of it ;)

  • I hear all of c'bah has changed.. but the bottlo has gone too?

So what have they done with it?? Its not a latte' sipping poo pusher pub is it?

I used to go to De La over the back there too...

Livin in Melbourne now, even less night life down here without gettin stabbed.

  • Yeah more townhouses and units with shops below, the bottle'o just moved to the back street behind the old carpark. De La still there! No cafes really in C'bah but go to Gymea up the most northern end and you'd spin out at the crowds that sip their lattes ha ha. The Shire is not what it once was. At least the C'bah Bizzos gets decents bands on occasion. I won't even begin to describe Cronulla today ... well just picture Surfers ...

  • yea they always wanted cronulla to be more than it is.. if aussie needed an enema, shitney is where ya would stick it, right into cronulla..

I grew up out the 'nell, 35yrs. :)

  • i moved away about 7 years ago after 25 there, now in adelaide, your comment made me laugh so hard, dead fucking right.

  • Did you say hip hop, dance and good in the same sentence, now thats funny. Your right there is heaps of good Aussie music out there but they aren't doing Hip hop my friend.Apart from having good rhyming skills it really is just ripping off other peoples music to hide the fact that they have very little musical talent. (hiphop and dance music I'm referring to) Come on, you know I'm right.

  • What ever did happen to the great Aussie pub band? The eighties were a great time to go see an awesome band in a pub. Spy v Spy, Sonnyboys, Ratcat to name just a few. The kids these days being fed fake crap gangsta rap shit and faggot boy dance groups etc, just don't realise what they are missing out on. Real bands doing songs they wrote and that come from the heart, not just to some formula to sell to 11yr old girls and morons who can't think for themselves. I must be getting old :-(

  • you think bands have monopoly on underground music.. theres allways been commercial shit to shovel to the kids...but just cause youve never heard the good stuff (hiphop, dance etc) doesnt mean it isnt out there ... theres heaps of good aussie music out there

  • @rrrocco Old music created too many strong emotions in people, and were too strongly politically driven, not to mention intelligent. Its against todays modern agenda.

  • @rrrocco So F%*#ken True.....

  • deep very moving cos it's true.

  • Please post snowblind intro

  • I was having tragic Spy's withdrawal after by tape died - Thanks for the memories !

  • Blox.

what will it take to get you back here to front the boys again.. airfare?? few beers? They havent been the same since :(

hate to think the amount of times I saw you round the shire over time, even on hols up newcastle area once you lot were playing, so that was a treat!

All the best, thanks for the mamories.

    COME HOME!!!

  • to the poster...i never realised Neddy Smith was a cop??..duhhhh

  • Excellent! Been looking ages!

  • GREAT TRACK. THX FOR POSTING.

  • A great song... I'm glad I found this here... I've looked for Spy v Spy songs here in the past, and didn't find what I was looking for, so thanks for all your great uploads :) ...

  • Spies are the best band that i hear. They played here i Brazil 4 time!!!Are they finish?

  • The spies are the best aussie band by far. There music is brilliant.

  • The Girl Who Knew To Much,,,, And the only band that had the guts to bring it to light. Brilliant Song.

  • There is a DVD called Blue Murder, it will answer the quiz at the beginning of this video.
