What I like about Hearts of Iron 2 was actually to play as smaller nation, not too small but nothing like a global power and actually research one or one and a half technology like building a few battleships and feeling proud of them LOL.

If if I were Argentinian and its naval command had in its possession the most advanced battleships in the world in 1942 they would have reason to be very proud :-) and start aggressive military campaign to invade its neigbors basically being a rogue nation lol

Can anyone please tell me what happends when you run out of time?dose it force you to spot playing or can you play for as long as you like?i would like to play as a small nation and conquer the world. but i am afraid of time limit. i wish they would make the battles in 3d like they did in knights of honor tho.

ok well at the time limit the game stops completly and you can no longer play but if you add a mod or modify the game you can extend the time to what ever you wants

No way in hell would 32 ppl be able to pull this off. Its sad that its mostly a single player experience. Hope Paradox makes a good profit off the game though because they really do giver their all. Unlike some of the over hyped EA or Activision titles.

It doesn't have the tactical battles but campaignwise Paradox's games have consistently outdone Total War. They have AI that doesn't declare war on it's allies for no reason for example.

You're right, I admit that the fact of allies backstabbing you for no reason is real pain in the neck. Is there by chance a demo available anywhere of this game to buy or download?

HoI 3 isn't out for a week or so, but there should be a demo of HoI 2 around. Victoria and Europa Universalis are also worth a look, same style of game from the same company but set earlier than WW2.

I really like both the Total War series and Hoi series but they are completely different in most aspects. I prefer Hoi though as its just such a huge and interesting game.

jkhuskies09 is right actually^^ The war was going really great until the first winter during barbarossa. The axis were pwning the soviets but then hitler decided some really wierd things, and he slowly crashed fucked up the ar by doing naive and stupid things like sending most panzer divisions to the south from moscowy when they almost had it, just to send them back again fter some weeks. He also forgot to make winter clothes for his soldiers. Stupid murderer
