Anna Anderson was proved an imposter. She was actually insane. History records of her show she was not all there in the head. Grand Dutchess Anasatsia did escape the attack however, but she was later caught and shot down. 11 people I believe were killed, and 2 bodies were missing from the basement I think; Anastasia and her younger brother. Her bones were actually discovered recently not to long ago.

Look it up. You know how to use Google, don't you? There are many, many news articles that confirm that DNA evidence proved that Anna Anderson was not related to the Romanovs. And by the way, ALL of the bodies of the Russian royal family have been accounted for.

@ricaonfire yes, a DNA test was done and it was proven that Anna Anderson was not related to the romanov bloodline. They actually found the two missing bodies of the romanov family a few years ago (as the previous 9 bodies had been discovered in the 90s), and were able to identify one body as Alexai, and the other a sister of his (though they're not sure which one it was.) Anastasia did not get away. No one from the family did.

@PrincessMelody6 Dna tests can lie. Maybe she isn't AN, maybe she is. But with only your backups of "Dna and empress said no" thats not good enough. Dna test can be inaccurate and one persons opinion doesn't decide it

Especially not here, because the DNA has been tested by three different laboratories, in Russia, USA and Britain, and has been multiple times. The burial site matches Yurovsky's memoirs, and there were other pieces of evidence found at the scene that supports it too. I do wish it could have been different, but the fact is the Romanovs were killed that night.

She didn't. "Anna Anderson" was an imposter, just one of many claimants who said they were members of the Russian Royal family who survived. NONE of them survived. They were all herded into a cellar and shot at point blank range and stabbed. Anna Anderson was a very convincing psycho and some of her supporters backed her up because they hoped to get a share of any royal monies she could get her hands on. DNA testing finally proved she was NOT a Romanov.

In a way its dissapointing that they did find Anastasia in the end. It became legend: Anastasia, And now to have our hopes dashed cos we know she did die like her parents. Rather sad, I guess.

The reason for the erratic scene cuts is because they were going on facts. Fact, the Romanov family was executed. Fact a woman who jumped off the Berlin Bridge claimed to be Anastasia. Thats why they cut to the hospital. What happened in between was never confirmed or even explained by Anna Anderson. Apparently she was lying therefore her scars which looked like of from gun and knife (Bayonet) and from birth where never explained by Anna Anderson.

Romours said that Anastasia was still alive just because they couldn't seem to find her body, but for about 4 mounths ago, they found two bodys close to where the rest of the family was found. they where tested for DNA and just weeks ago they got the results back. It was the remains of Anastasia and her brother Alexei. so Anna Anderson was just fake.

we did a test at school and anna andersons dna matched those of another man not prince philip, a direct desendent of the tsar's family line. mtdna goes almost unchanged for mmost of the family line. if it was her, she would have matched the mtdna of the remnants they found in the mass grave.

the case was hard to solve though because she had many of anastasias traits. same foot disorder, facial features, ears, hand writing, etc. many people thought this womanwas her.
