@screaminkeys i just bought a used one an hour ago, when i go into 16bar mode, if I go back while its playing and cut it to 8 then 4 then 2,1,1/2,etc.. it records it and it messes up the beat and from what this video looks like it supposed to go right back to how it was if you just toggle it, the red light isnt on for record yet it does change the loop after I go back,, is the one i just bought defective?
Thank you so much for this video. It seems all other instructional videos dont explain in enough detail. This answers so many questions and showed me things I didnt even know the kaossilator could do. Kudos.
pk mini is better on nput can input any cd player or mp2 this is a synth its little brother of the kaoss pro you want effectsa buy the red one mini like i did yesterday great
i just saw a vid where if you do that same thing, you dont have to stop at 4 measures, you can keep going, but the down side to this is that you cant fix the beat, or so ive found on my pink kaossilator, btw, i paid $10 xtra to get it in pink!
I got one for 2 months, and I'm pleased with my latest video "Dark Taxi".
But the Korg Kaossilator Pro came out in Feb. 2010, and it has 4 banks, it can save on SD card, it makes up for the limitations of the regular Kaossilator.
i'm saving money to buy one. lol i soind like a kid but it's actually expensive over here and meanwhile i wait im swallowing every peace of information about this device,,,, more .. gimme MORE o.o
So when you've recorded a loop, you can play it back. But once you turn off the unit do you lose the last loop you did? Please let me know, as this may push me to buy one.
I had that exact problem in the store yesterday. I guess it just comes with practise. Shame there isn't a feature to remove the previously recorded loop. Say you get a complex beat down, then mess up a bassline. Ya have to start again. rather than remove the mistake
Actually you can. After you find a beat you like, hold down the loop rec/play button and turn the dial til you see what looks like FIE. This fixes the beat (and other loops you want to keep) so you can record stuff over it and only delete the most recent track. You can cancel the loops turning the dial to CLR.
@kbbrarsonist There IS a feature to remove the previously recorded loop. But it doesn't work in Loop Length 16. In 8 or less, you can Fix a loop then add a bassline. If you mess up, you can hit Loop button, turn the knob to select Cancel, and only the unFixed portion of your loop is erased.
wow thanks for the help...hey if you dont mind...can you tell me what you used to make that kickass beat on tip number 2? i got my kaossilator yesterday and i want to make that

When you turn it off, the data is lost.

Had a feeling that were the case. I'm still very tempted though... Tried one out yesterday and its harder than it looks

I just got mine like... 12 hours ago.
It's not that confusing once you actually sit down alone and try to figure it out.
I'm having a bit of trouble syncing my playing with the tempo I have dialled in.

Don't suppose you'd wna make a video showing this in context? =P
thanks
kbbrarsonist 2 years ago
hehe... well, i could give it a shot. There might be a vid on here somewhere that illustrates how to do that too.

Well I'm quite confident I've watched a stupid amount of the Kaossilator vids on youtube =P
