I liked the first episode of this entire cartoon better than the other ones but then they ruined everything by making them the two main characters into super heroes with those lame masks and shittty catch-phrases. Plus, they decided to kill off two popular villains from the videogame and replace them with d-list characters who nobody really cared about.

They ruined this cartoon on so many levels by the Double Dragons into a Power Rangers ripoff.

@AirborneMotor, I am aware of the commercialization factor here but it could have worked if they had stuck to the videogame elements more. Heck, they could have easily followed the videogame elements while incorporating other things.

For example, even though the Rambo cartoon was a GI Joe clone, it was still cool to watch as they followed the general concept of the franchise while changing things a bit. Lazy and messed up writing ruined the Double Dragon cartoon straight up.

@kherubhm I think you are overthinking this a bit. Billy and Jimmy are from the game as heroes. Marian is in the game, and most cartoons will have a lady that is in stress, or people that need help. There is always some evil villian like Shadow Master. For instance, Sonic it's Robotnick in those cartoons and in the game. Robotnick and the Turtles have hechmen. Robotnick in a cartoon had a chicken and a robot.

@Predatorocks Back to the henchmen, watch Batman Returns for sure where you have all those clown people who are under the Penguin hurting people. I forgot what the vehicle looks like in this cartoon, but it seems every good guy has some sort of vehicle. Batman has the batmobile, Wonder Woman has the jet, the X-men have a jet also, and so on. For the older guy as a master, you usually think of a older guy teaching someone martial arts, and a dojo makes sense for martial arts people.
