Sounds like a fried motor, or you might have turned on the truck first then turned on your transmitter. Make sure transmitter is already on when you turn truck on.

@rannylikesfarts I geared it for top speed but almost roasted my new Epic 15T motor. Went back to stock gearing.  It's still fast but doesn't over tax the motor. Ditch the stock motor they are real slow. You can get an Epic or Orion for about $25 make sure you go no lower then a 15 turn if you do. Anything lower like a 13 or 10 turn will burn up the ESC.

@rompn4x I got a 13t method r motor from hobby town usa.com for $30-$35 and it didnt burn up my speed control.I burnt out the rotor because they didnt tell me to run only 7.2 volts and both of my batteries were 8.4 volts.I loved that motor it got my slash to 47mph.

15T Orion motor, geared for higher speed (i forget the tooth count) and a 8.4v 4500mah battery. Fast enough to have fun but not too fast ;)

Yea i am running the Traxxas brushless system in mine on the stock gears. While its nice and fast down the straight away it has a habbit of rolling over going into turns :(

I believe its a 23/86 setup. With a 4500Mah 7.2v battery you can tell the gears are for high speed. Car is somewhat sluggish off the line. Thats why I run the 8.4v battery pack. But the motor gets real hot if you run it hard. Going brushless soon though =)
