  • I am going to try the oat meal cleanser for sure! =) I also use baby shampoo to remove makeup, it was recommended by my dermatologist for having sensitive skin/eyes.

  • @xxxHopeMariexxx

Yes I have tried the face shop! Sadly the only time I've tried some of their stuff was when I did a swap with a subbie from Korea since in my area they aren't as accessible but for the most part their products are cool :P

  • Yay, I've been waiting for this video!! You look amazing! Love from Texas.

  • @MissKiaPet

    Thanks!

  • Sam you can get vitamin e oil in a small bottle at wal-greens

  • @kawaiiboba

ooo I'll be on the look out for it, thanks!!

  • I really like the oatmeal idea....so you actually use that as a cleanser? I have similar skin, Imma test it out. Thanks!

  • @1SidekickAddict

Yes it is actually my cleanser :P

  • Great updated video! The oatmeal is so interesting I haven't actually heard or anyone using it until you mentioned it in a video.. I'll have to try it and I totally was thinking will it clog my drain lol. Your skin does looking amazing and glowy! Love the makeup :) beautiful!

  • Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover made me had a rash/redness around my eye... i had to go to the doctor the other day bout it... If anyone had this problem now, use baby shampoo to clean it. and apply some cream.

  • @MiSZx3AMY

Oh wow! Sooo sorry to hear that =/ Thank you for posting a recommendation to anyone else who may have reacted in a similar way.

  • Thanks for the video! I've been noticing that the Body Shop Seaweed range (Toner and mattifying lotion) is not working on me lately, I don't feel it keeps me matte anymore. So I've been looking for an alternative skincare routine, gonna try oatmeal out! :D

  • i love using oatmeal as my cleanser, but how im gonna keep my pipes unclogged?

  • @PinkBlushing

Drano? lol Aslong as you don' throw huge clumps at a time it should be okay since most of it gets small and mushy it should be fine as long as the particles are on the small side.

  • I use My Scheming and never tried MBD :) but now I don't go without them, always have a stock ready hehehe...

  • You should use yogurt

If my skin decides to disagree with me the night before i go out, i dap a tiny amount of lemon juice let it dry and on top apply yogurt, after cleansing with oatmeal :D

  • I'm wondering, isn't the oatmeal itself a pretty strong exfoliater to use even ONCE a day? I think I'm pretty similar to your skin type so I'm a bit nervous to try that out since I've always been very careful when it comes to exfoliating my skin because I don't want do, uhm, overexfoliat it, LOL. I always thought exfoliating your skin once or twice a week is totally enough?!

  • @mondstauberdbeere

It is a very very gentle exfoliator if used how I demonstrated... since it's soooo mushy from the water and it really is soft. I use it more for cleansing and absorbing oil & bacteria rather than scrubbing super hard. Just a little pressure and quick wash is all you need. If you do not use it with a good amount of water then it would be a bit harsh.

  • Your makeup looks really good in this video <3 : )

  • Your skin looks flawless! & I love your nails :)

  • In Hong Kong here, I try their new mask called "Luffa Mask", I think this is the best one of Beautydiary.

  • you try the BB cream? because i want to buy but i don-t kno if i should ..great video

  • @ThePinkyAlexandra

I personally currently don't use a lot of BB creams. If I wear them consistently I break out in a million little bumps. And a lot of them are too grey toned for me.

  • i use aloe vera gel and oatmeal and my skin is still crap :( oatmel just makes my skin sooo sensitive but soft but i doesnt help me to get rid of blackheads and pimples

  • hmm I didn't know those masks were the beauty diary premium masks.... I told my cousin to bring some masks here from China and they brought those but since its all in chinese I had no idea of the brand. haha thanks for the video!♥

  • @crazieecool

    awww.. I am jelly! lol

  • I will have to try that oatmeal cleanser! and that eye makeup remover. Thanks hunny!

  • @myfreewill

No problem liz! Love youuu <3

  • oatmeal is the best! i love love love love it!

  • Have u tried palmers vitamin e, I recently bought it and I think its working

  • @bbydisney

I haven't but that sounds great!

  • can you please do a vid on maintaining red hair ?? thanks!

  • @BakaPowah

Sadly I have no tricks at all lol If I ever come up with some I'll let you know. i'm still bouncing from shampoo to shampoo currently.

  • retin-a micro is an amazing product for spot treatment but i think u need to get it prescribed by a doctor

  • @m00035

    Ahh I've heard of that!

  • i really want to try this oatmeal wash now! what happens if you have makeup on, do you have a makeup removing cleanser and then use the oatmeal?

  • have you stopped using the body shop seaweed products?

  • @cupcakemiley

I do not use the toner anymore because my skin isn't reacting to it... and matifiying cream wise, I still have one around but I don't need it as much because the oatmeal has toned the oils in my face down sooo much.

  • thanks for this vid. I really need this info:)

  • i love how you line your eyes, it takes so much effort for me to do that :/

  • have you tried the Neutrogena eye makeup remover? i love that stuff! :)

  • @CO1D9

I have! I used it when I was first starting out with makeup since my big sister has it.. it stung my eyes a tinnnny bit but it left an oily reside so I personally prefer the SK one.

  • haha i swear i heard you say oatmeal was $30 OMG haha

  • @xPackyx

I always forget to slow down when I say $3 since it's one of the most mistaken pronunciations in my videos lol My bad, I said $3!

  • do you prefer vanicream to cetaphil?

  • @AvRhee

Personally yes because cetaphil broke me out =/ sadly

  • Lol, I am planning to use up all my cleansers and then switching to natural products like oatmeal, baking soda, olive oil, lemon and honey to just use on my face. The oatmeal seems to work for many people and I'm hoping it'll work for me.

  • I think it's funny how gurus say "click this vid over here" or I'll post the vid rite here & there's nothing on the screen hahah

  • @HypnotizeBabe

But there is here... O__O I always add my annotations before releasing the video live lol Unless you watch it on a phone... then youtube mobile doesn't have it. Or if you have the annotations turned off (since they have that button now) =P

  • By the way..!!! I forgot to tell u.. U look absolutely gorgeous with color .. Love the lipstick :)

  • Just curious, did you ever experience more oil from using the Mattifying Seaweed Day Cream? I got it because you had it in the last video. But, I started using it and I noticed I get more oily. :l

  • @atomicangi

Nope =/ I personally never had an issue with it making me more oily.. ever! I still love it.. I just don't use it anymore because my face doesn't really get oily anymore since I started using the oatmeal.

  • Hey Samantha! You should really try out Ponds Cold Cream and Ponds makeup removing wipes. It works SO MUCH better than the Neutrogena wipes you rave about. It takes waterproof mascara and eyeliner off in one swipe. I love it!

  • @dorkiibooo

I'm kinda scared of it though I own the cold cream. Everyone freaked me out with the.. "ponds has a lot of mineral oil, bad for acne prone people" thing =/

  • wow you look really pretty in this video, your skin looks amazing!!

  • I know u didn't mention it but do you use eyecream? Or do u have any recommendations ?

  • @siwing38

Still looking for one that I like enough to recommend. Most of the ones I tried didn't really do anything.

  • So no more Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream... Was this one of the products that stopped working for you?

  • @TheCoilWhisperer

It still works, I'm just not that oily anymore lol Thanks to the oatmeal. Only my nose gets a bit oily.. everything else is fine now! So I don't use it much but I still have it with me.

  • the oatmeal totally works, definitely thanking bubz for making a video on that... as for the aloe vera, wish i could do that! unfortunately, im allergic! :(

  • Could u plz make a tutorial on some kind of dark Halloween look ;)

  • @bandalin1

Sadly I won't have time to do any halloween tutorials this year =/ I wasn't super inspired by anything and I still have a list of videos I'm trying to finish before halloween :( maybe next year, sorry again!

  • Where do you get the asian masks?

  • @zomglawwlz

I typically get them from the sites I linked off in the box. The specific boxes I'm holding I recently picked up in a beauty store on a weekend trip to NY but I would typically buy online.

  • yay <3

  • How do you clear the oatmeal residue after you're done? I suspect that, in the long run, the sink will get clogged.

  • @yumgify

Currently at 3 months of consistent use... my sink is doing fine lol But I don't allow large clumps to flow down the drain. Usually the oatmeal itself turns into very breakable small particles. Otherwise, hit your sink with drano every few weeks if your worried =P Easy fix!

  • awesome! thanx!

  • my skincare routine:

    cleanser morning and night: oatmeal.

moisturizer: don't have any so i just use thefaceshop spf 38 oil free sun milk sunblock.

exfoliator: garnier micro beads (every 4 nights)

    mask: yogurt + lemon.

    happy skin! :D

  • I just started using oatmeal to clean my face this week, it works really well for me :)

  • is base cream and vani cream the same ? i was looking for vani cream, but i havent found anything but base cream :(

  • @misscocolicious96

I'm not sure, I haven't heard of base cream =/

  • Hi Sam, I would say I have the same skin type as you - oily and acne prone. I started to use the Oatmeal as my cleanser as oppose to my Clarisonic, and it has helped my acne so much. I haven't worn foundation in awhile, since I feel I don't "need" it anyway (I could live without it, but I don't mind putting em on) and because my skin has been improving I've been searching for a new makeup primer. What are you using, or any suggestions??

  • @msbabylaine

Lately I've gone primer less just due to... getting bored of the ones I have =/ no HG primer for me yet. A lot of people swear by the MUFE HD primer. I used it and overall it felt okay... but I'm still bouncing around LOL

  • You're absolutely right about everyone's skin being different. The Eucerin moisturizer made my face feel like it was burning D: i reeeally wanted to like it though. Sigh :( lol

  • [[GLOWING]] ! ")

  • @jenner1406

...lighting LOL I don't glow in real life to be honest.

  • i prefer matte red lips.. just a bit too glossy....

  • @h26x

I was going more for a raspberry lip... so I put a raspberry gloss on top to alter the color. Matte lips are cool tho, just too drying for my preference.

  • Your skin looks so great. I'm going to try the oil/aloe vera since we have very similar skin types.

  • @VintageAqua

I hope it works out for you too!

  • i am definitely going to try the oatmeal diy thanks for the tip (:

  • heard that the curel gel is really good.. but pricy >.< haha ..trader joe's aloe gel is good too! :D i dont get breakouts anymore!!!

  • I like that your routine is simple and pretty accessible overall. Like, you're not one of those gurus who slaps twenty expensive products onto their face before bed.

  • @JumpingGrenades

I'm too lazy for twenty... even ten products lol

  • You have gorgeous skin :)

  • i started taking cod liver oil because i saw a blogger mention she takes some and i notice it helped a lot i don't get the little bumps of acne i used to and when I do get acne it doesn't get too big. I think you have to take a high quality one. Thats what google told me anyway...

  • @chupakabra

    Ooooo thanks for the recommendation!

  • I'm using oatmeal too..so far my skin loves it..natural is the best way for my skin

  • You use the oatmeal in the morning? Isn't that really messy?

  • @iluvy00hx3

I use it morning and night. Night time in the shower.. morning in the sink. It doesn't leave a mess at all when I use it =X it runs directly down the drain without any help from me.

  • I use oatmeal too! WAHHOO!!

  • I use oatmeal to cleanse my face too. Love it! I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but I noticed that it brightened my face and somewhat lighten some of my scars.

  • @Enchanteralle

    I definitely see a brightening effect :)

  • I used the Oatmeal to cleanse my face for 2 months already and the results are awesome and it has a little whitening effect too! I saved so much more money than before on skincare and I realised my skincare routine is pretty much like yours (minus the Nat.Cure Aqua Gel, Eucerin, Vanicream). I still breakout once a while but it heals way faster than before. Thanks Sam!

  • Omg I've been waiting for this video ever since you said you use oatmeal to cleanse your face

  • Thank you for sharing. I really need to remember to try the vitamin E for my dark spots. I get to the grocery and forget lol.

  • How is the vitamin e capsules working for your hyperpigmentation? I thought it was better to use vitamin c instead?! Maybe I'm wrong. Tell me more about the vitamin e your using! Thankssss

  • @lilqtxanq3l

I use E O__O from another beauty guru's recommendation (frmheadtotoe) and it's been working great. Helping me old scars a lot and some new ones. My niece has nails now and she accidentally scratches me when I hold her and when she actually leaves a scar I can get rid of it within a week lol

  • Have you ever tried the Neutrogena eye makeup remover? I've used it for years but wonder if Sonia Kashuk is any better. :) Your videos are my favorite!

  • @jedole

The neutrogena one leaves me eyes a bit oily so I like the SK since it takes less product and doesn't leave any oily feeling.

  • i saw the quaker oatmeal stuff in the thumbnail and wondered why it was in a skin care routine loll, great video!

  • @SunnySupplies3

    lol makes sense now right?

  • I just use the vitamin e oil that comes in the little dropper bottle that way I don't have to cut the little pill thing open.

  • @ShannaVinesa

I can't seem to find one like that =/

  • Do you think that the vitamin e pills have been working have you seen results from them? I was thinking about doing that before but wasn't sure.. And would you say the oatmeal has helped oil control? Great video :)

  • @yreid21

Yes oatmeal has definitely helped reduce the oil production of my skin and I have seen good results from the vitamin e. My niece actually scratched the top layer of my skin and causes a scar (on the side of my nose) and within two applications it went away. It was a fresh scar so of course it was easier to treat than older ones but it still worked!

  • :) thx btw ur one of the only Gurus that actually respond to comments. Very much appreciated.

  • @CGLiz

No problem :) thanks for appreciating the effort!

  • You are soooooooooooooooooooooo pretty without makeup!! So cute!! <33

  • LOVEE your videos !! By the way, your gorgeouss <3

  • u look so pretty = )

  • can you do a video on how to pull off red lipstick with asian skintones? like what shades of reds should people with yellow undertones be looking for. im chinese and have never owned a red lipstick...and i dunno how to start hahaha

  • @xandreaaa

I also have yellow skintones... and honestly there are a lot of rules... saying do for a warmer red, if your yellow. More blue toned cool toned if your pink but I've seen major exceptions to the rules. They are more so guides but they aren't always right... The best way to find ones you like is trial and error to be honest. I just wear ones that I like lol If you want to follow the guides just google "red lipstick rules" and they are all there =P

  • @xandreaaa Hey, Michelle Phan has a youtube video all about how to pull off red lips, She covers everything on her video about red lips, You should check it out if you need help with that. It helped me alot (:

  • How long before u saw results from the oatmeal?

  • @CGLiz

I could see some after the first use. Very noticeable results... give it two weeks.

  • have you experienced any problems with clogging your sink?

  • @superjess808

Nope not at all, I mentioned that in the video =P

  • I have packets of quaker oatmeal. Maybe I should try that. I am breaking out like nobodies business

  • @symmetricalastic

    Worth a shot right? :)

  • @saaammage Yep! I will let you know at a later date if it worked :)

  • is the sound off or is it just me?

  • @R4CH3L0L

Not sure! No other comments yet =/

  • @saaammage

it was just me, i think. because watching it back now it's fine. how odd!

  • @R4CH3L0L

    Maybe youtube gltich? lol

  • i definitely need to buy the Cure Natural Aqua Gel Exfoliator, i need to save up! lol

  • How come you don't use a toner? And would you recamend one with someone with acne? Not hard core but like pimpleshere and there

  • @christey123

I stopped using a toner lately because my face seems to like just a cleanser moisturizer right now. I'd recommend the spot treatment shown.

  • @saaammage Thnaks and can you get that spot treatment in Canada?

  • @christey123

I'm not sure! Check out mario basdecu's site and use the store locator since I'm not sure what stores you guys have up there.

  • @saaammage Okay thanks

  • Does the sonia kashuk eye makeup remover sting your eyes? Does it make your eyes feel oily? Thanks!

  • @jarimi24

    Nope & nope!

  • youre such an exotic, edgy beauty- if that makes sense lol. btw, are you gauging your ears? i keep looking at that little spike and cant tell :p im on my ipod so everythings smaller

  • @momsomnia

NOOO NOOO. They are just spike studs from jewelmint... not gauges at all

  • Very very very helpful. Oatmeal, calamine and vitamin e here I come. Btw try investing in the Clarisonic MIA OMG amazing product.

  • @CGLiz

I've had a clarisonic mia for almost a year now (november)... I just don't use it often LOL It tends to dry out my face if I use it more than 2x a week so I just haven't touched it in months.

  • i love how sometimes using food or products that are not necessarily "cleansers" work better than the real thing iv been using sea salt and it works wonders but im getting immune:( so hellooo oatmeal lol

  • @BrittneyNicoleflicks

I used sea salt as a toner a couple times and it was pretty nice!

  • I wana see a video with you WITHOUT any kind of makeup-3 please oh please i would love to see your natural self :D

  • @MonyharuKia

... check out my second channel with vlogs lol... I without makeup alllllll of the time. I wear makeup once a week to record now a days

  • where do you get the aloe vera?

  • @MascaraBestie

I bought it at a vitamin shop

  • You have PLUGS :O what size!??!??!?

  • @MonyharuKia

Oh no no LOL I DO NOT HAVE PLUGS! They are just regular earrings..... like... studs that are long lol

  • WOW Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is only $18 ?! in australia it's about $50 so i've been putting off buying it =\

  • @ishhlaurence

    Holy moly!!

  • clogs your drains? lmao :)

  • @she2hadthedramathick

    LOL it didn't clog mine!

  • do you not use TBS seaweed clarifying toner anymore?

  • @ix3choo

I stopped using it because it didn't do anything for me anymore due to using it sooo much lol

  • @saaammage ohh i see :D thanks for answering my question! I love how you spend time to answer to all of your comments! not many gurus do that! :] great video btw!

  • i actually use Vaseline Aloe Lotion to mosturize my face ( day and night) and i have oily/combo skin! It works great!

  • ur foundation color doesn't look like it matches u? might be the video. I am not sure.

  • @HUNNNE19

It's probably the lighting. Artificial light alters A LOT of things. I'm only wearing a thin tinted moisturizer and I was trying out a new powder (not sure how I feel about the shade match yet).

  • When bubz posted that video I knew I will eventually use this technique one day. That day came about 2 months ago when I had crazy hives all over my face. I suspected it was my makeup removing wipes. I opted to try the oatmeal wash and the rash cleared up in a few days leaving my face incredibly smooth! I have completely dumped my deep clean cleansers because my skin seems to be getting more sensitive as I'm getting older -_-

  • @msLanniee

Oh wow! I'm glad oatmeal gave you such great results!

  • Hey, Sam. I've been watching you for a while and am always replying to you on twitter, and I just have to say... I just love the freckle on your nose. SO CUTE! Hahaha

  • @XAcidRainbowX

    :) Thanks

  • i have oily skin, so does oatmel remove oil as well?

  • @MickeyMouseFan11

It does helps control oil production. I am much much less oily than I was prior to using oatmeal.. some days I don't think I count as oily skied anymore LOL kinda awesome

  • @saaammage thanks! that is awesome!! :)

  • how do you apply all the products on your face? do you rub them in or do you pat them? ive heard patting them is better.. whats your take on that? oh and have you ever tried microdermabrasion for acne scars? if you have, is it worth the money? thanks!

  • @lizzcruzz

I do both rubbing and patting... I've also heard that patting is better for moisturizer to absorb and that is the "proper way" and I've tried that but honestly I don't personally see any significant difference. What can I say.. I'm a beauty rule breaker lol rubbing seems to work well for me. I've tried a home microdermabrasion by blinc in the past and I didn't see any visible results in comparison to the results of just using things to treat them. Your skin feels great tho lol

  • do you use the exfoliator before or after you cleanse your skin ?

  • @tigerbaby6

    Afterwards. I always cleanse first.

  • @saaammage okiedokie thank you hun ^^ i will definitely try that out!

  • where did u buy the mint julep mask?

  • @glitterocity007

It's available at a lot of drugstores such as cvs, walgreens, target, walmart... some super markets & sally's beauty supply.

  • Hey sammm ! im a new subbie and just want to say that i love your videos :) and hair haha

anyway, i wanted to mention that you should check out Bioderma ! I too have oily and acne prone skin and this brand is a miracle for me

I use their 'Sébium Al' for acne and 'Sensibio Light' as a moisturizer (only moisturizer that doesn't make my skin feel like i rubbed it in grease after lol)

KEEP IT UP GIRL ! :)

  • the oatmeal cleanser is very messy though...

  • @viviansayslmfao

In comparison to a typical foam or gel cleanser.. yes! But for me I have no issue with the mess. At night I use it in the shower and in the morning it flows down the sink easily with no help from me.
