@dzynone indirectly his excitement does kind of have to do with that. obama winning to him, and most other people, symbolizes freedom and that we've moved past our old ways as a country and hope for "change". but sadly he's not bringing and change, good change at least. and yes before this he was in senate voting to ban all handguns, which goes directly against the constitution. so yes most of the excitement is black accomplishment but some of it has to do with hope that hes gonna bring change.
