Its like the machine boss in The Wind Waker except you use Minish power instead of bombs. This boss requires both Hylian and Minish power.

When you fight Gohdan you alredy have the 3rd Pearl

And when you fight Mazaal The element is not there and you have to beat another dungeon before you can get it!

One major theme of zelda, especially for the bosses is "WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, ATTACK GIANT EYEBALL".
