Nice! I like the film really! // Ursula is the girl, who's in the End George's wife. But I also don't know any Fella in the film. And I don't know, that George calls she 'Fella'!?
I would watch this with my family as a kid, and my dad would do the Tookie Tookie bird impression perfectly as well as the tarzan yell. Good times. What's even greater is that the library still has the tapes!
What is the cartoon where the character lived in the zoo but went on excursions? I've always remembered the song (kind of like a swamp) but can't remember the character. I thought it was Wally Gator, but don't think so now.
@JanetUSA that may have been the "hair bear bunch". It was the "wonderland" zoo i think, that serial was from about 1973. The plot was somewhat similar to "tennessee tuxedo" and chumwey from total television circa 1964
@JanetUSA Tennessee Tuxedo and Wally Gator both used that premise. Wally used to just get into stuff, but Tennessee and Chumley would seek out Phineas J. Whoopee to learn about how to do stuff, then they'd try it themselves and screw it up.
Since the original cartoon was from the 60's it wasn't excactly politicaly correct.. George had suffered brain damage from hitting his head so many times from swinging into trees. In the original intro it shows Ursala and Fella dancing...because George sufferes from double vision...he thought he had two wives.

During the original beginning there was a five second segment showing a car from the nineteen twenties running up a ramp on the side of house, and jumping over, two steam locomotives running into one another at full speed, and a model T Ford driving through a giant pane of glass with someone riding on the hood. They were in b/w and obviously stock footage.
@abacab987 abacab is 100% correct, i remember it like it was yesterday. I'm actually searching for that very segment from the intro. fella and ursula were one and the same, george's woman. if anyone knows where this footage segment resides, please do clue me in..
Disney has been over since the sixties. Now the corporation is run by business men. Parasites robbing old cartoons for their profit and probably not paying any royalities
Its not Bella its Fella Come on now this is George where Talking about Knowing his Loveable Stupidty George at times Thought Ursula was a Fella or called her Fella and with him Hitting The Trees No Wonder why he thought there where two of them
George of the jungle was the first and only jungle man to always hit trees when swinging from vines, brilliant !!! That cartoon was so clever in a lot of ways.

@DisneyVillain
George of the jungle not stupid.
George of the jungle, artist.
He got degree from Cal Arts.
Merlin5x5 1 year ago
@DisneyVillain the whole Fella thing came about because George tended to see double from hitting his head. Hence why Fella and Ursula stay in step.

The tookie tookie bird was a spoof on LASSIE.
The bird would find george, say Ah Ah EE EE Tookie Tookie.
And then George would explain the complex message or instructions that he meant to the audience.
Just like lassie. It was a hilarious dig and a totally inside joke.
