Well...my cousins psp is on 5.50 and anything i try just wont work...everything i copy is recognized as corrupted data, and i don`t even have a recovery menu...at least it`s not working the way it did on some cfws

@ekishila You need to actually have a UMD game in the PsP to make the games work. But there is an easier way. Go to recovery menu, hold down "R" while turning psp on, then go to configuration. Then look more something that says "UMD Mode" scroll to it and click x once then exit the recovery menu and you will not need a UMD to be able to run games.

Hi there really need help have just bought 2 psp 2000 slims one with ofw 6.20 on it and one with 5.03 ofw on it both are 2003 models i have pandora battery and magic memory stick with 4.01mm3 on it,will this work on these psps?I have only used the battery and stick on fat psps and they all had ofw lower than 4.01 please help dont want to brick them,be great if you could get back to me.

Well you obviously didn't hack your psp then. The way I did it was made a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. You must make the MMS first though! A pandora battery will only work in a PSP that has an MMS in it. Then I just installed 5.00 M33 and from there upgraded to 5.50Gen-D3. It works perfectly for me.

You can't get on PSN with custom firmware. at all. There is a program called PSNabler that is supposed to allow you to get on it but it doesnt work.

gen is updated but buggy. compatibility with 5.50+fw games and ps store access. less homebrew friendly, slow compared to m33.

I prefer 5.00 m33-6 BY FAR but 5.50 is newer, so you can play more games. They have major incompadibility with software for the opposing FW, for example, most 5.00 m33-6 themes won't work for gen

Yes. I have 5.50 GEN-D (Full) and all my games work perfectly. You HAVE to redo all the settings though, by holding down R then turning it on. Be sure to change the UMD mode and whatever else you'd like. 5.50 has some new features that are awesome!

To get custom firmware, you will need to have Sony's 5.03 firmware or anything below. Then you need to use ChickHen. Then you can either get 5.00M33 or 5.50 GEN-D. I got 5.00M33 first, then I upgraded to 5.50. To get M33, search for it on here. Then click the link in the description of this video and download 5.50 which you will put in the GAME folder (inside the folder called PSP). On your PSP, go to game, memory stick. Click on the 5.50 thing and it will update like normal. Then you're done :D

connect your PSP to the computer. Open it, go to PSP, then GAME. Copy the UPDATE folder that you downloaded into GAME. Disconnect the PSP, and go to game, then down to memory stick. Click the update. Do you have 5.50 regular firmware? If so, you're kinda screwed.
