So interesting at the time that guitarists like Rory really pushed the guitar to incredible feats, but a lot of bass players and drummers (like here) weren't catching up. The ratio was very different.
Rory looks and plays so easily, but look at the body language and playing of the other guys.
@chrisrobertsuk Lou Martin's absence told me this must have been an early show for that great lineup. But d'Ath's first gig? Cool. d'Ath was used to it. His first ever gig was when his dad's band sat him behind the drums with nearly no preparation; he pulled it off. Very self-taught -- you can see him cross over to play the snare right-handed and the ride lefty on Souped Up Ford clips. He just did whatever it took to really keep things percolating. Possibly my favorite drummer.
