I think I was racing down the guy in the blue shirt at 3:50.......... great place to hike, first time at it.. very challenging rocks yet easy to handle. luck to all of you that hike this place!!!!!!!
I hiked it September 2010. It is quite a trek. I wore gloves and good hiking shoes. I don't think that hiking sticks will help. There is a lot of foot placement decisions to make. I am 52, and I did it.
Hiked it july 2, 2011.. Hike wasnt long but the heat was a killer ..Started around noon with temp around 112,,,not very smart. But if you do wear hat shades and plenty of water.. (a small umbrella would have been a nice touch) .No shade once you get half way. Saw some people didnt go all the way ...be weary of your body symptoms, heat exhaustion is a Bi....,otch
Thank you for the awesome video! I am trying Camelback tomorrow for the first time, and it really helped me know what to expect. I have done Squae Peak a few times, so I'm ready for CBM! :-)
I go to az for spring and summer break all the time but never have Been to camel back... Is it really tough or can you make it easily? Do you need to have strong legs or is it just really long?
@edgarallanpwnified It is tough in spots... and it is steep. But worth the climb. there is no time limit, just get there in the morning and take your time. Bring plenty of water!
Camelback Mountain - Echo Canyon Trail was one of my first hikes. I am in IL and it is FLAT here haha. It was ROUGH. Especially that one part where you have to go almost vertical
I've never seen Camelback Mountain as beautiful as this in any other videos. I loved it. I can see that you are really a thrill-seeker. You climb so frequently. Have you seen my videos? I really want to share it to you...
thanks a lot for this video! Had been in America sor over 2 weeks and I could really feel the pizza and cheeze effect on my body up those hills..brings back some good memories..thanks;)
I took a trip to Phoenix with my dad and we went to Camelback Mountain and my dad got so tired we didnt make it to the top but we saw a guy who RAN up and down in like 15 minutes, and he ran up and down over and over again, like 3 times!!!!!!!!!The picture this video shows at 2:01 is the hardest part to climb.
We used to drive up Camelback Road to the loop that goes above some houses or whatever and just sit and hang out. It's sooo pretty there! I miss Phoenix a lot and am absolutely dying to go back.
Take Cave Creek north to Carefree Highway. Take to Carriage Dr and drive up hill untill you have to park just about around my folks house. No trail just a great climb. Check out "The Boulders" on the otherside looking down. Well you can see my video soon after New Years. Crazy Looser video btw.
SUBSCRIBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CUZ THAT RULLED! I plan to Hike Black Mountain with my mother around NEW YEARS and video my way to the top. Ive been here 37 years and also havent hiked Camelback but now have seen the top thanks to your video.
Rachel told me that you guys went up Camelback Mountian, wow, Its been years that I had gone up there with a friend, yet I don't remember who I was with when I did this.
If you drink lots of coffee like I done you be up there in no time. Nice video.
Yes I suppose you could get up there quicker... But there is no place to go to the bathroom up there! Lol... It was one of the toughest hikes I have done in Phoenix, but beautiful!
This does not look like it was an easy hike. But the scenery was spectacular and shots of Phoenix were just great. I have not been through Phoenix since 1958! Looked like good weather for November too. Very enjoyable.
Matt, Yes that day was perfect! But Sunday, the next day, was cloudy, and rainy, and cool. It was amazing to see the entire city from up there. Yes it was a tough hike!
Has anyone had an encounter with rattle snakes??

Been there...very beautiful place. That one is pretty easy compared to the Smoky Mountain trails.

When I was about nine years old, we went through the Smokey Mountains on our way to N.C.
What a beautiful place. And yes the trails are quite hard. ( very steep)
