@andersenford What does that mean? Just because a theory isn't mainstream doesn't mean it's unscientific. Why do people understand this in every field except natural history, in which case secularists are ALWAYS right despite only being able to make educated guesses? Natural history is a historical study, not a scientific one, and it should be treated that way. Unfortunately, its study is based on ideals that have deliberately excluded the historical record not out of logic, but out of pride.
I do enjoy the big concession YECs made when they admitted to themselves that plate tectonics is a fact. So to justify plate tectonics into their bad theology, they needed to give amphetimines to the process.
But like Walt Brown's hydroplate theory it does not come close to the observed evidence. Worst, even Austin admitted the heat generated would be enough to nuke the Ark.
Here is another example of why Austin is ALWAYS wrong.
@lawilson200 So, let me get this straight, when "Mainstream, real scientists" think in new ways, and challenge the status quo, that's just good science. But when "YEC's" do the same thing, that's religion. OK, got it. Nice to see how open minded you are.
@bmbirdsong - I do enjoy revisiting old postings. What does it take to replace older paradigms? I believe that is the substance of your posting. In the case of Plate Tectonics, it was achieved by the development of important technology that allowed us to see the earth in ways that was not possible before the 1950's. YECs need to do more than merely contradict findings of nature that conflict with their fairy tale book. YECs need to learn how respect nature.
@bmbirdsong YES! But in fact religion = politicians! As Terence Mckenna said: We are on an elevator thinking that we are the ones who are allowing the improvement! Truth is that we could have been already galactic centuries if not millennia ago! In the main time..give it a good vibe :)

Ah CPT. Plate tectonics on mega-steriods.
