I believe that God hears all of our prayers in any and every way we give them to Him. As @jaj1823 stated, our prayers come from our heart. Now, I do believe that praying out loud is more powerful because you're speaking what's in your heart out of your mouth. However, I don't believe it's required.
God hears it all. If you pray in your mind the Lord hears it. I was in a car accident & I called his name out in my mind, bc I was spinning down the road & could not speak! Prayer can be done in many different ways!

The Bible isn't the toughts of God but the Word of God. And getting filled with the Holy Ghost and having the evidence of tongues is not to be confused with the 9 Gifts of the Spirit as listed in 1Cor 12, with the 9th being "THE GIFT OF DIVERS KINDS OF TONGUES". What are the scriptures that talk about tongues? I always have known that to be languages that the person has never learned before, but someone in the congregation speaks; then another person interprets it for the rest of the congregation, otherwise what is being said is useless. There is no such thing.. even in the verses that deal with tongues you find not discussion about "praying in tongues" is pure nonsense.. People error by using Eph 6:18 that says pray in the spirit as though it refers to tongues. If we read it in the context of the book of Eph and without any biases, there is no way for the error...
I preached about prayer and pointed out how God is not looking at the position of your body but the position of your heart. Remember if you have iniquity hidden in your heart, God will not hear you. I do believe it all depends on how God is leading you. Some people kneel, lay prostrate, walk, or pray silent. I personally must pray out loud and pray the scriptures because that keeps me focused. The bible talks about crying out to God in prayer. So many different ways to pray and God still hears!!
I was raised Baptist/Pentecostal, so I know about praying in tongues and stuff, that is all good. Just let God lead you. We who are "churched" have so many misconceptions about prayer. We tend to think that it is a competition and a "talent'", but prayer is a privielege. And see we think when folks are preaching and screaming in prayer that they are PRAYING!! God is NOT deaf!!! It's about having authority, and believing what you are praying! Fervent, effectual prayers, avail much!

i usually pray in my mind on my knees in my room.lol.
i don't believe it's no different if your praying out loud or if you are saying it in your head. a prayer is a prayer. God knows your heart.
