I love COD. COD has been around for a long time and this is only the 3rd Battlefield. I've played Battlefield and it also hasn't changed much over the years. I love both games but everyone still hates on COD when Battlefield could be the same way some times......

I'm sorry but I do not agree when you say the campaign is just fun not a good storyline. First off im not a CoD fanboy or a BF3 fanboy, I play RPG's but I bought all three MW games just for the solo. Yeah, maybe its not realistic but you become attached to the characters and gets better and better right the way through. If you played CoD 4 when it first was realed you always though, I wish I could play as Cpt.Price hes so cool, and then when they let you play as him in MW3 that was a thrill.

I agree that "Of Their Own Accord" was probably the most stunning level in any FPS singleplayer game ever. It's literally the only time that I felt anything while playing CoD, it was just weird. DC burning to the ground is an epic stage and the overall effects were amazing. No settings stood out like that in MW3, and when I was running through New York, I felt like I was going through a nameless city, not the big apple.

@fedexmol Cousin in the Marines, two friends in the Army, and another friend that served the Air Force for 8 years. All four of them told me what I said was accurate. My friend in the Marines actually plays MW2 at his base and he and his friends laugh at the campaign and how over the top it is.
@xSushiRush Maybe voiceacting goes under "audio?" Mw3 has great voiceacting imo. Battlefield has bad voiceacting. But sure, Mw3 guns sound like shit and it should have a lower rating.

What is more bull is that machinima gave MW3 a gold award which is 9.5 or up and gave BF3 a 9. I can agree with reviewers not ever giving perfect scores cause there is no such thing as a perfect game.
As for your audio commet. In defense of ING, while I do prefer BF3, MW2 came out in 2009 while BF3 came out this year. There expectations may have changed in the time between.
I just picked up MW3 yesterday, and I'm pretty disappointed. The weapons online are extremely imbalanced. The weapons you unlock as you rank up have a laser-accurate spread, and then when you add a perk like "kick" your gun will have zero recoil. For some reason, the CoD franchise thinks that the AK-47 is an accurate gun, too. I still don't understand that. As far as the maps, I like Black Ops better. "Fast gameplay" doesn't mean shit when you keep dying from behind by a dick in the corner.
I agree. im a COD player, but in my perspective, i find BF3 a little more funner and more enjoyable than running around with a gun, spraying/quickscoping everyone. Im not hating but, when will you every see a real soldier "Quickscope", "Trickshot" or throw a random throwing knife.I mean, you see that shit off hollywood. But, i do like owning noobs soo yeah. MW3 isnt a bad game but it does get a little boring.
Battlefield 3 is superior in every way, Skyrim's audio is very dated. Don't even get me started on Fallout 3/Morrowind. I enjoy Skyrim a lot more than Battlefield, but I don't make obnoxious claims like that.
Number of channels, filters, dedicated processing, frequencies, Battlefield wins on every front. If you're talking about music, then yes, those games have Battlefield beat. Musical score is not the same as audio.
@xSushiRush The audio in Skyrim is way worse than Battlefield's. BF3 aims for realism, so it requires real and high quality sounds, but in terms of story Skyrim wins by a mile. But those are different games and different genders, and we should play both.

I for one only really want positional hearing such as footsteps etc. Soundwhoring isn't as good, Maps in MW3 are terrible. As cliche as CoD campaigns are, we still love them because it's what we want. The outcome of the campaign set despair in the MW franchise. I wouldn't go as far to say the BF3 campaign was awful, it wasn't the best, and I don't plan on replaying it, but nonetheless I still enjoyed it while I played it and all. I play on the xbox tho, so missions like operation guillotine lagged a lot and the AIs did weird stuff, but still "I enjoyed it.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Battlefield 3 Singleplayer is terrible. I think it is ok but not as good as the previous campaigns (e.g. BC1 and BC2)...
If you play on Xbox or PS3 and want fast fun fluid gameplay buy MW3. Don't buy BF3 on console because it sucks, the maps are to big considering you can only play 24 players. If you have the luxury of owning a gaming PC(I sure as hell don't) buy BF3 but not MW3. To sum up BF3 walk 100km just to be shot by a guy camping and wait 5hours just to spawn in a jet. MW3 maybe MW2.5 but at least its fun (on console). I know in selling BF3.
I bought BF3(xbox)and when the game came out I'd have 8 friends playing it but since the release of MW3 and Skyrim more of them are playing those two. Quiet frankly I find the battlefield 3 multiplayer boring. It may have far better graphics and sound but that's to cover up the fact that it's not as fun as MW3 and more of a "war simulator". I am thinking of Selling BF3 for MW3 as at heart I'm a COD player. I enjoy killstreaks, short games and care more about gameplay than graphics.
You know what, I'm glad there at least IS a fucking campaign for BF. Back in the 1942-2142 days there was NO campaign, just fighting against bots, the Multiplayer had it's own storyline. As in 2142.
ya last night i was at a friends and i tried mw3, and it is pretty good, survival mode was fun and the multiplayer was fun for me cuz i was facing against all of these pros and all i did was a simple flank and killd them so many times... i also borrowed his turtle beach headphones and played bf3 with it and OMG IT WAS LIKE THE EARS OF GOD!!!!!

I agree with you completely. as for MW3's storyline, its pretty much the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. This goes for almost all the COD's, as they've gotten progressively more ridiculous.
MW4: fight off Darth Vader, Captain Price is diagnosed with Cancer, you are bitten by a werewolf, the sun explodes (this is somehow tied to an evil russian), trees come to life and start killing people, more things explode, so you break into heaven and bring Soap back to life, who saves the world.
Personally, I quite liked the BF3 campaign. It was far from the best I've played, but I've definately played worse. There were quite a few moments that I really enjoyed.

I give your review a 9.5 / 10 very accurate I would have given a 10/10 but the comment on that the military doesnt say Breaching when breaking through a door is incorrect. I was in the CF (Canadian Forces) and we do call out breaching orders and many others when entering a possiable hostile compound. we also call out flash bangs and Clear when we have our designated breach area clear of enemie combatents

I liked Battlefield 3's campaign... I would personally say it was better than MW3's simply by virtue of it's authenticity and massive technological advantage.
TOTALLY agree on the topic of sound.The sound in BF3 is fucking phenomenal! I love the sound of an rpg being shot down a tunnel in the game.MW3 gun sounds so weird. For example the sound of the UMP being fired reminds of crumpling a paper ball lol.

I agree that "Of Their Own Accord" was probably the most stunning level in any FPS singleplayer game ever. It's literally the only time that I felt anything while playing CoD, it was just weird. DC burning to the ground is an epic stage and the overall effects were amazing. No settings stood out like that in MW3, and when I was running through New York, I felt like I was going through a nameless city, not the big apple.

@fedexmol Cousin in the Marines, two friends in the Army, and another friend that served the Air Force for 8 years. All four of them told me what I said was accurate. My friend in the Marines actually plays MW2 at his base and he and his friends laugh at the campaign and how over the top it is.

I just picked up MW3 yesterday, and I'm pretty disappointed. The weapons online are extremely imbalanced. The weapons you unlock as you rank up have a laser-accurate spread, and then when you add a perk like "kick" your gun will have zero recoil. For some reason, the CoD franchise thinks that the AK-47 is an accurate gun, too. I still don't understand that. As far as the maps, I like Black Ops better. "Fast gameplay" doesn't mean shit when you keep dying from behind by a dick in the corner.

I agree. im a COD player, but in my perspective, i find BF3 a little more funner and more enjoyable than running around with a gun, spraying/quickscoping everyone. Im not hating but, when will you every see a real soldier "Quickscope", "Trickshot" or throw a random throwing knife.I mean, you see that shit off hollywood. But, i do like owning noobs soo yeah. MW3 isnt a bad game but it does get a little boring.

Battlefield 3 is superior in every way, Skyrim's audio is very dated. Don't even get me started on Fallout 3/Morrowind. I enjoy Skyrim a lot more than Battlefield, but I don't make obnoxious claims like that.
Number of channels, filters, dedicated processing, frequencies, Battlefield wins on every front. If you're talking about music, then yes, those games have Battlefield beat. Musical score is not the same as audio.

@xSushiRush The audio in Skyrim is way worse than Battlefield's. BF3 aims for realism, so it requires real and high quality sounds, but in terms of story Skyrim wins by a mile. But those are different games and different genders, and we should play both.

Both groups are owned by a European (France-based, I believe?) corporate conglomerate (to some extent via a series of further corporate affiliations) identified by the handle of Vivendi. Yeah, Activision and IGN are both properties of the same comglomerate, Vivendi won't allow one group to badmouth the other.

I for one only really want positional hearing such as footsteps etc. Soundwhoring isn't as good, Maps in MW3 are terrible. As cliche as CoD campaigns are, we still love them because it's what we want. The outcome of the campaign set despair in the MW franchise. Overall, being a 'fanboy' of anything should not be what you are, because you know your stuff very well, I mean IGN (lol) -__-" It runs like MW2 with CoD4's feel, but the excitement is dying down for me and I love CoD. I wouldn't go as far to say the BF3 campaign was awful, it wasn't the best, and I don't plan on replaying it, but nonetheless I still enjoyed it while I played it and all. I play on the xbox tho, so missions like operation guillotine lagged a lot and the AIs did weird stuff, but still "I enjoyed it.

If you play on Xbox or PS3 and want fast fun fluid gameplay buy MW3. Don't buy BF3 on console because it sucks, the maps are to big considering you can only play 24 players. If you have the luxury of owning a gaming PC(I sure as hell don't) buy BF3 but not MW3. To sum up BF3 walk 100km just to be shot by a guy camping and wait 5hours just to spawn in a jet. MW3 maybe MW2.5 but at least its fun (on console). I know in selling BF3.

I bought BF3(xbox)and when the game came out I'd have 8 friends playing it but since the release of MW3 and Skyrim more of them are playing those two. Quiet frankly I find the battlefield 3 multiplayer boring. It may have far better graphics and sound but that's to cover up the fact that it's not as fun as MW3 and more of a "war simulator". I am thinking of Selling BF3 for MW3 as at heart I'm a COD player. I enjoy killstreaks, short games and care more about gameplay than graphics.

I agree with you completely. as for MW3's storyline, its pretty much the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. This goes for almost all the COD's, as they've gotten progressively more ridiculous.
MW4: fight off Darth Vader, Captain Price is diagnosed with Cancer, you are bitten by a werewolf, the sun explodes (this is somehow tied to an evil russian), trees come to life and start killing people, more things explode, so you break into heaven and bring Soap back to life, who saves the world.

Personally, I quite liked the BF3 campaign. It was far from the best I've played, but I've definately played worse. There were quite a few moments that I really enjoyed.

I give your review a 9.5 / 10 very accurate I would have given a 10/10 but the comment on that the military doesnt say Breaching when breaking through a door is incorrect. I was in the CF (Canadian Forces) and we do call out breaching orders and many others when entering a possiable hostile compound. we also call out flash bangs and Clear when we have our designated breach area clear of enemie combatents

@pattonkeith Exactly. And CoD has limited themselves to release a game on the same day every year, and since they know a lot of people (especially pros) play the game, they are afraid of change. Unlike BF, they come out whenever and add all these new elements to the game and revolutionize the FPS genre. Activision has set such a restriction on themselves that it has become their downfall.
