I really like the self shimming feature i put self shimming springs in all of my demanding builds and they work flawlessly. they give the perfect shim because if the gears need some stability or some adjustment room they can do it themselves. Example. 35 rps on a 7.4v lipo without a hiccup.

It depends on what your looking for. If you want a gun with a fast ROF on a 9.6 get the KWA. If you want the more realistic rifle, in terms of the functioning bolt catch and the slimmer pistol grip, get the VFC. I personally prefer the vfc.

@Infearoth VFC is more open to aftermarket upgrades, KWA however is a very picky brand that will only take some aftermarket upgrades internally. However since it already shoots 400+ fps with .20s and .25s i really dont know why you want to go higher. VFC has an auto reshimming mech. which us really useful and reduces the need for internal maintenance. KWA doesn't have that, but still an excellent brand. Both good guns, if you're relatively new to Airsoft get the VFC, if experienced get KWA

@Infearoth everything about the kwa is proprietary to kwa. the buffer tube requires cutting to fit aftermarket stock. the gears are wider than aftermarket parts as are the teeth set on the piston (no upgrade). the piston head is metal ported in the vfc not in kwa, the cylinder head assembly is proprietary in the kwa but metal and very good. externally the vfc is better internally the kwa is better out of the box

2:44 My ICS definitely can't handle that without a new piston. But the flash hider has way too much orange on it but a bit of nail polish and hard rubbing should do the trick. By the way I suppose you can take that spring off of the spur gear and delayer chip off of the sector gear and put them onto any other gearset?

@MrDrAlfonso Echo1 guns are crap if you have the money for a VFC. Their internals are pretty abysmal. VFC for sure.

@MrDrAlfonso VFC uses excellent quality internals from steel gears to polycarb pieces, it can't be beat. VFC is now called the KWA of Marui compatible guns, and that is true. Echo1 is JG with a 30-day warranty. JG uses great gears and motor, but need some work out of the box. Their shim jobs are horrible, and I wouldn't trust their plastic. They are good for their price, though. Echo1 does have a gun made by VFC, the Echo1 Platinum M4. When you have the money for VFC, don't go Echo1.

@MrDrAlfonso I'm actually about to purchase a VFC. I have owned 2 full metal Echo1s, a KWA pistol, and a Classic Army. My Echo1s are solid, but are crap compared to VFC. Their shimming is bad and their polycarb isn't as strong as VFCs by far. Go on ASGI forums and everyone will tell you to get VFCs.  As I said, Echo1s aren't bad for starters and their price. Some of their guns are definitely not worth the money.

@MrDrAlfonso Echo1 will last a good time if you don't screw it up and don't stress the gearbox too much. A VFC will last longer and be able to handle more. If you've got $280, grab a VFC.

@MrDrAlfonso If you don't have $280 to spend you can pick up an ICS Proline M4 for $180 on airsoftextreme. It's no VFC but the externals are close to one (save the lack of a functioning bolt catch and normal pistol grip). Internally it's more like newer ECHO 1/JG guns but with a split level gearbox and good shimming.

@chris123456999 KWA is great, but the lack of availability of aftermarket parts hurts. I own a VFC/SOCOM Gear Noveske 14.5in and it's great. ~20 RPS and ~400 FPS on a 9.6v with beautiful externals makes it a helluva gun. KWA is a great manufacturer, but the high lemon rates and not-so-great externals make it not a gun for me. If you are looking to replace the SR7, I say don't. If you're looking for a backup or gun you'd use on the field, VFC all the way. The Noveskes are pretty sweet. :D

@dakingofdanoobs The older VFC guns had 7mm plastic bushings and a plastic spring guide. The newer ones (E Series, Umarex HK416) have 8mm steel bearing bushings and a steel bearing spring guide.

@TheCursedTalent I would recommend getting the TACTICAL version of the VFC M4, and just use an external battery pouch on the stock, so you can use more than just a nunchuck battery. Trust me, I have this gun, and it will save you SO much time having it pre-wired to the rear, as well as having those rails.

Both vfc and kwa are both good companies, personally I'd stay with my systemas, I have the m16 a3, the mp5 and the m4. All earned with hard earned cash. None have failed yet even through rain, mud and natural abuse. I have only one con but yet one positive about them all the mag capacity. For realism and stealth a plus, but for long games and happy trigger fingers it could be a con.

That was only a 11.1 15c lipo? wow i might get one of these. That rof is perfect for me, but the fps is a little high. Do you think adding a MOSFET and a AMP high torque motor would have prevented the problems you had (trigger contacts and motor brush)

Got a question for you. My friend has an E-series but is having problems with his mag well because it is too wide and too long causing the mag to wobble in every direction and the magazines do not feed unless you push up on the magazine. Have you heard of this issue and did you try using magazine by other brands with the gun?
