This about brings me to tears. I work in a silver mine in Montana, and that's the whole reaso I go underground on my days on..... it ain't cause I love mining, I'm putting food on the table and clothes on my families backs. Those of you who have never been 2 miles underground and criticize us.... I pray for you. You don't even know and could never know....
@246alive I am from the UK and I work in a relatively dangerous industry of Agriculture & Engineering. Now we don't obey health and safety regulations... because other wise the job would take 3 times aslong. In the UK if a person was to die in an industry for example, mining, there would be a huge investigation and if the employer was found responsable i.e. through neglagence of equitpment, toxic conditions or , they would blamed, the family would sue them. And usually closed down
If he doesn't die down there ,and I hope doesn't , but the guy whose jacket he greased will probably beat the fire out of him in the parking lot. Why did he go on camera telling that! duh!
This guy is a jackass, he's willing to die for his family but he's not willing to swallow his pride and show up to work on time like a real man does... He's willing to die for his family here, but yet he quits because his boss doesn't suck his dick everyday.
@Codyrg WTF would you Know your just a little punk that wouldn't last 1 day at cobalt coal or any real job so you keep sucking dicks little boy because you seem to be a born again dick sucker that doesn't have a clue about working in a punch mine / hell whole
@kamaboko1 you ever been to wv? if you lived here you would never want to leave. coal miners make a crap load of money we live a great honest life. a coal miner knows 3 things. mining coal, the love of their fellow mining brothers, and the love of their family. we keep the lights on across america. remember that next time you flip a light switch or hit the power button or your computer
@huntrj83 I lived in Virginia several years and trekked out to WV a few times. It's not a foreign land to me. As for coal power in my state, it represents about 1 TWh. A crap load of money I guess is relative to the person.
@kamaboko1 if they choose to live this lifestyle let it be why argue? who says this is better than anything else it powers alot of america so instead of looking down on him thank him
@ironman145614 I didn't say i looked down on these people. The guy in this video clip suggests that he's doing this job at the expense of his life so he can provide for his family. I'm just saying, "buddy....there are other options". And for those nay sayers, I came from a similar background. I have siblings that bought into that thinking, too. In the end it's limited thinking that's killing them.
@kamaboko1 they make more money underground then top side there will always be coal mining and like they say in the Coal show that is all they know how to do.

Most aren't as bad as this mine. Also when some gov't guys saw this show they fined the owner a fuckton of money because of these unsafe conditions.
