I think Tyldesley's commentary was taken from the radio. For example, the BBC covered the 1981 Final, and Barry Davies was the commentator. Brian Moore commentates on ITV's coverage of the 1984 final but then you switched to Clive for Roma's goal. Interesting.
Correct - if you read my description, the tydesley commentary was taken from Liverpool's Radio City from a programme they did on new years eve 84 - for years I kept it on a TDK C90 audio tape (my most traesured possession as a 16 year old!)and as technology progressed put it on my mini disc & eventually made it into mp3- with the advent of YT I was then able to collect pics/movies & make the audio into a short film, - thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed.
It took a while to edit / synchronise the pics to the words (eg Graziani kissing the ball at 2.03 and filling in vids as Kennedy talks about penalty practise at Melwood on 2.44) but it was a labour of love and as Clive was local radio his version is full of passion - try to have a look at original footage ofthe decisive Kennedy pen with Brian Moore commentating - it will be the same video as the one I used but the difference is amazing
Excellent - I was actually thinking of trying to get in touch with him via TV but if you could direct him to this I would love to know what he thinks - I recently looked back at the original footage with Brian Moore commentary (with I think St John) it's amazing the difference - if I get a chance I will post a bit especially the final missed penalty from Graziani and the build up to Kennedy.
My God what a brilliant video. I live in australia now, but was there for both Romes, Parc de Prince & Wembley. I still have audio tapes of Tyldsley's commentary for the following; Radio city sports review 1981 & 1984, Milk Cup Final replay 1984, Milk Cup Final 82 & 83 and the European cup semi away against Din Bucharest. I lasted about four minutes before i started laughing and crying at the same time with your vid. thank you
Thanks for your kind comment, when I did this it was just something I wanted to do for myself but to know that sharing this has reached and touched a fellow red on the other side of the world is a pretty amazing. I was only 10 in 77 but remember it vividly. My brother took me to the dynamo dresden game which was a qualifier it was my first ever game and I think we won 6 - 1 - Here's hoping we can beat the blues tomorrow and go top of the league again, thanks for taking time to watch & comment
