  • with 9 parts... i really expected a documented battle report... other than a really overdocumented review

  • too short>? the game has up to 6 players for a reason, and its one of those few games that you can just put the part togeather, and there you go.

  • Expanding the game to six players probably will not have any impact on the number of turns in the game since the rate of event card usage for player does not decrease with more players.

If anything, players may be burning through more event cards with six players since there are more players which can cover up your order tokens....

One of those games you can just put together? Starcraft the Board Game has a lengthy setup and clean up process....I'm curious as to what you meant...

  • 6 players = no event cards removed = more going on = more time wasted on people having to "think" = longer playing time. granted about the same amount of suff would happen, but the "time spent playing" the game would be added. I think the quickness of the game is what makes it good. you dont build the same buiding every game, you dont research the same shit every game. it all depends on whats happening at that time and or game.

  • and the SCB game is one of the few board games that you can simply put togeather as in adding more then 1 set to another. non of its game mechanics would be affected by adding another 2 players or 6. (asuming you added the relative amount of cards and other things to the deck). the only thing that MIGHT... be affected is the 1 protoss end game thing, but even then if you did it right(added the right amount of things) it should play out fine.

  • You are right about this. We have never put two sets together, but we have tried some other changes to the game.

After playing the game for a while, I actually prefer not too use the special victory conditions...Once you take those out of the equation, then you can have all sorts of fun when it comes to trying new things.

  • Ok, My original point in the show was that the number of turns was too short...not because we did not find the length of game play too short.

The time spent playing is acceptable for the type of game that it is.

  • I think the short turns has its good points and ... not that great points, but it keeps the game moving, so when there IS 6 players, you know its not going be 10 min's till you get to go next. This game dose kinda a opposit of noraml "big" board games by having lots of quick simple moves instead of a few long complex moves. I personaly think this fits the "starcraft" type theme better and certainly keeps me from falling asleep inbetween rounds and turns.

  • The not so good points are bother some what bad and some what good. The short simple turns help new players and non board game players get into it easyier. On the other hand the super vetern gamers that play year long games of things say its too simple and not complex enough for them. But either way there generaly is more in the first catagory then the second in any gaming group so I think they did it right.

  • The Mutalisk could of atked the Battlecruisers fuel tanks :D

  • It probably got caught in the engines and screwed up the propulsion system :D
