i am a commercial pilot first officer and i am currently working for british airways i am going to be working for singapore airways next year and i will have the pleasure of flying one of these babies : ) please anyone email me if you have any questions on mattmotley@bigpond.com i will also upload my landing and takeoff videos soon :) thanks guys!
@Quy4life It won't now. Took 20 years for Airbus to conceive the A380.....Boeing already have market power with the 747, no need to spend billions more just for a few extra seats, not economical.
That is indeed correct! That's my voice you can hear in Zulu Mike Foxtrot (Blue Sky Helicopters). I was flying the photographer that was working for Singapore Airlines. The other "in company" helicopter with me had our other client, The Sydney Morning Herald" - And lastly VH-SEV was shooting the video!
How could you know it? Test shows that A380 is a top quality aircraft. And it's the quietest airlines jet aircraft ever made, and THAT's a great thing for people living near an airport. It's also more fuel-efficient than a 747, allows better interior amenagement.
The start of Airbus reputation was built on the success it had with the A300 in getting a US airline to make big orders, and from there its continued to grow, and has a healthy rivalry with Boeing. I don't think it's about who makes better planes. Boeing and Airbus have different Markets. Planes like the 747 A380 737 A320 787 A350. 777 A340. Everyone of these planes are great. They serve different purposes, and customers, and is good competition.

Indeed, the livery looks first-gen. I bet there was a good crowd of planespotters, media, airline personnel, etc.

boeing 747 is special for its long range ability
airbus 380 is special for it capacity
both are good planes
japankorea99 3 years ago 19
you are corrrrrect!
garlex134 2 years ago
yeah but the a380 is ultra long range and has huge capacity!
FS2004looney 2 years ago
@japankorea99 Both have the same range i think you will find, with in a few miles any way, the "dream liner" will have a good range, as does the 777.
Tommiclio 9 months ago
@japankorea99 a380 has both greater range and greater capacity. a380 can fly 15,000 kilometers without refueling(vs 13,000 for 747)

alot of a380 vids i see only engine 2 and 3 use reverse thrust y not all?
aznturtle1 3 years ago
Because the A380 has only 2 engines that are fitted with reverse thrusters.

I really don't care what you anti-airbus americans say but this plane is simply BEAUTIFUL... A380 as King and B747 as Queen of skies

We are not anti Airbus we just know that Boeing builds a better aircraft.

Only time will tell. The 747 has 40+ years of great history. One flight does not make a great plane!!!!!!

It hasn't proven anything yet. How can you name it the King after a handful of flights?
jimdep333 3 years ago
Because it's the largest passenger airliner in the world?

Talk to me in 40 years. The 747 is still the KING of the skies!!!!!! airbus has a loooooong way to go!

I didn't say anything about the 747 not being a great plane. Just stating the facts.
Way to spam and be an ass.

Yeah, only to 2 of the 4 engines. It's sufficient enough to slow this aircraft to the taxiing speed
