One of my all time favorite movie moments -- as originally shot, though. Fading out to black before she finishes the last phrase, and hence, missing the wonderful closeup of her through the lace curtain is just criminal. I don't think Vincente Minnelli would have approved.

I'm a teenage girl and I LOVE Judy! My musically oblivious friends don't understand why I love her. Then again, they wouldn't know talent if it assaulted them. She, Aaron Fechter and Michael Jackson are my main inspirations (Judy is always #1 though :)) She died WAY too young.

Al through her life she was told by the producers at MGM that she was ugly compared to the other stars, being told this constantly made her need constant reassurance and because of this her mental health wasn't all in great shape.

Yep, it's also became of MGM that she died.

they gave her drugs to make her peform better (so she would'nt be tired so easily) and she then came to be dependant on drugs which then took her life.

R.I.P. Hugh Martin, who, among his other works, composed the score for Meet Me In St. Louis. Martin became a close friend of Judy Garland and was her accompanist at many of her concert performances in the 1950s including her legendary stint at the Palace Theater. He passed away on 3/11/11 at the age of 96.

I love her hairstyle, its so simple, and timeless! I wish girls nowadays knew how to be beautiful like this. Shoulder length hair is always timeless. Judy was a beautiful girl, she had a real beauty inside her, it wasn't fake. it was REAL!

I've always loved Judy's facial features but when MGM hired Vincente Minnelli & Vincente hired the great Dottie Ponedel to create Judy's new adult look, Judy had Dottie written in as her exclusive makeup artist while at MGM SHE gave us the look that we have come to recognize.Judy loved the way it made her appear so beautiful.Judy used Dottie's technique from then on with just a little tweaking. This Movie was so Unique the way Vincente Minnelli filmed it. He always seemed to "frame" Judy in her most touching scenes and songs. Either in window and on the trolley when u see her between the two wrought iron bars signifying her heart was held prisoner for the boy next door & at the end when she sings the christmas song she is in the window but pining for her boyfriend and the window she looks out has a look like her heart is locked up. Or on the staircase scene. Minnelli knew how to film
