One of the most important things when playing paintball is to keep the gun's tank mounted on your shoulder and grab it with both hands... the rest is just technique that u acquire with the passing of time... but those 2 things are the basicest when paintballing, why doesn't the field keeper or someone else give this little piece of advice to these guys???? lol! i went to playing speedball at my local field one day, and a dozen of marines came to play paintball. and they were using rental. my freind had the x7 and comparing scopes and talking about it... marine guns and paintball guns are the same so they kinda took the game to serious lol.
They aren't the same at all. We take the game *too* serious because it is what we do. It's just as good as training for us. Everytime a gun is in our hands, we try to do our best at everything, whether it's hitting the target, or buddy rushing for the kills and utilizing cover.
@Bigp426 yea but just so u know paintball and real gun fighting is meters away from each other. paintballs drop in like a short distance plus wind. while flying bullets drops in a long distance, plus wind but barley moves the bullet unless u are sniping. real guns dont use air tanks.
Yes but the tactic is the same to us. Be aggressive. If you can't break through, you just might scare them into running the other way. Then you can shoot them in their back while they're tired lol.
And trust me, wind plays a big factor when we're out there qualifying at 500 yards.
so many replys! To taskforce: the attribut required to play speed ball is in it's name. SPEED! you also need mobility, teamwork and a happy trigger finger. just ask any pro paintballer. Woodsball is slower paced so you could just walk around and hope to find a person. and to anyone who thinks its hard 2 switch from bullets - paintballs i met this one soldier, and he just owned every game we played. He was running up and down the court just hunting down the other players. it would sem its not bad
number one in real combat bullets go through all sorts of things so you have to make paintball strategies diffrent from real combat. the marines would teach you how to be good but i dont think soldiers would apply it as they would a life or death situation
not entirely true, one of my best friends is a die hard paintballer, currently deployed to afghanistan, he has used some paintball tactics in combat situations, his unit thinks hes crazy but certain things can be more effective than the military's techniques,

kinda. lots of skills can be used in both speedball and woodsball. and some skills are situation specific. i think both take the same amount of skill just in different areas
this is more like "click ball" as most people are using tippmann's so everyone's shooting is like click click click as fast as they can pull a mechanical trigger
btw I'm a proud tippmann owner myself it's one of my favorite markers to use
personally I've played both, walk on woodsball at my local field here in california consists of 2 teams of 100+ people firing blindly at anything that move which is why i think speedball takes more skill, it's not easy to play on a tiny field and play tight to your bunker while trying to dodge lanes from other players
i also play both, but here in Pittsburgh we don't play such large scale woodsball games, and the forests are extremely dense. this might make it a different type of woodsball than you're used to
the field I play at also has dense forest type courses they're called vietnam lol, but just the sheer amount of people playing changes the way the game is played

Yeah both rely on team work more than skill, but in woodsball you can see people coming before your paint will even reach them. in speedball they are right there in range the second the game starts and you have to be able to line the shot up get to cover and help your team to get down the field as fast as possible. i will give you that you are shoting alot of paint in small areas but thats cause you have to hit a much smaller target. in woodsball you shoot a lot of paint into a big area

speedball sucks. everybody run wildy through the red and yellow marshmallows pissing rediculous amounts of paint randomly in the other teams general direction. woo hoo, yea lots of skill happening here. i understand paintball isnt like real combat but come on. its pure chance and luck on a speedball field. i guess its all a preferance as to whether you want to try and feel what combat is like or just have crazy fun shooting your friends a dozen times in 1.2 seconds.

i went to playing speedball at my local field one day, and a dozen of marines came to play paintball. and they were using rental. my freind had the x7 and comparing scopes and talking about it... marine guns and paintball guns are the same so they kinda took the game to serious lol.

They aren't the same at all. We take the game *too* serious because it is what we do. It's just as good as training for us. Everytime a gun is in our hands, we try to do our best at everything, whether it's hitting the target, or buddy rushing for the kills and utilizing cover.

@Bigp426 yea but just so u know paintball and real gun fighting is meters away from each other. paintballs drop in like a short distance plus wind. while flying bullets drops in a long distance, plus wind but barley moves the bullet unless u are sniping. real guns dont use air tanks.

Yes but the tactic is the same to us. Be aggressive. If you can't break through, you just might scare them into running the other way. Then you can shoot them in their back while they're tired lol.
And trust me, wind plays a big factor when we're out there qualifying at 500 yards.

so many replys! To taskforce: the attribut required to play speed ball is in it's name. SPEED! you also need mobility, teamwork and a happy trigger finger. just ask any pro paintballer. Woodsball is slower paced so you could just walk around and hope to find a person. and to anyone who thinks its hard 2 switch from bullets - paintballs i met this one soldier, and he just owned every game we played. He was running up and down the court just hunting down the other players. it would sem its not bad

number one in real combat bullets go through all sorts of things so you have to make paintball strategies diffrent from real combat. the marines would teach you how to be good but i dont think soldiers would apply it as they would a life or death situation

not entirely true, one of my best friends is a die hard paintballer, currently deployed to afghanistan, he has used some paintball tactics in combat situations, his unit thinks hes crazy but certain things can be more effective than the military's techniques,

kinda. lots of skills can be used in both speedball and woodsball. and some skills are situation specific. i think both take the same amount of skill just in different areas

this is more like "click ball" as most people are using tippmann's so everyone's shooting is like click click click as fast as they can pull a mechanical trigger

personally I've played both, walk on woodsball at my local field here in california consists of 2 teams of 100+ people firing blindly at anything that move which is why i think speedball takes more skill, it's not easy to play on a tiny field and play tight to your bunker while trying to dodge lanes from other players

i also play both, but here in Pittsburgh we don't play such large scale woodsball games, and the forests are extremely dense. this might make it a different type of woodsball than you're used to

the field I play at also has dense forest type courses they're called vietnam lol, but just the sheer amount of people playing changes the way the game is played

Yeah both rely on team work more than skill, but in woodsball you can see people coming before your paint will even reach them. in speedball they are right there in range the second the game starts and you have to be able to line the shot up get to cover and help your team to get down the field as fast as possible. i will give you that you are shoting alot of paint in small areas but thats cause you have to hit a much smaller target. in woodsball you shoot a lot of paint into a big area

speedball sucks. everybody run wildy through the red and yellow marshmallows pissing rediculous amounts of paint randomly in the other teams general direction. woo hoo, yea lots of skill happening here. i understand paintball isnt like real combat but come on. its pure chance and luck on a speedball field. i guess its all a preferance as to whether you want to try and feel what combat is like or just have crazy fun shooting your friends a dozen times in 1.2 seconds.
