This shows why defenses can't dominate anymore. Receivers nowadays are free to catch balls and not be scared of getting rocked from a defender because of the defenseless receiver rule. QB's have 50-75+ yards rushing because of all the roughing the passer calls.
It's a different game now, give it another 5-6 years and it'll be touch football with offenses scoring 80 points a game, hehe.
Are you sure you understood what the guy you responded to was saying? Read his comment again and listen to the commentators. Stop whining. Owners do not want to pay a guy millions of dollars as a player. And then turn around and pay his family in a fucking civil suit 15 years after he retires. Blame the owners for being caught suppressing evidence they had on concussions. But not for protecting the bottom line.....MONEY.
@drbayoms I can read and I understood him. Do you understand what I wrote??? I'm saying that before Roger Goodell came along, people didn't have to think first about the hits they put on people and it was football. I understand your point, but the NFL's reputation for taking care of its players is abysmal, to say the least. Before you try coming at me sideways, peep the context and try again. Or don't try at all.
By your words I can still tell you have no clue what the other person was talking about. And that's fine. Maybe you will go back and listen to the commentators. I got exactly what YOU were saying. Maybe that's why I threw in the comment about the NFL hiding information they had about concussions for over a decade, and my reference to future civil suits.
Hint: Marshall's helmet never touched Joe's. But, Joe's helmet DID hit the turf.
@drbayoms I have no ego! Get a fucking clue! You're right, they did not collide helmet to helmet. I made a side remark which was only *slightly* off topic...but not really. Your snide commentary policing might be appreciated elsewhere, but you can have the win. Stay gone.
@drbayoms Another interesting point: did the person to which I replied have a problem with my "inaccurate" assessment? My comment was 2 months ago dude. Get a life.
I remember seeing this game that was a solid rock hard hit! Wow I mean he meant business with that bring down...That's what U call the smackdown! Wapp....
Kevin Butler said he thought Joe Ferguson might be dead after Marshall hit him. Ferguson was parallel with the ground before he hit. Nasty shot! No flag thrown... those were the good ol' days. Marshall did get fined 2K for it, though.

I've heard Ditka talk about this hit. He said he thought Marshall had killed him.

@drink2death Sad but you are 100% right.NFL is soft as shit now

@drink2death so true, they may as well not even have a defense anymore and just mark the ball right where the receiver catches it.

@xntrickk That's because you never had to think about the helmet-to-helmet before Roger Tinkerbell.
