  • Oh, thank god almighty. I was scared you were gonna show them ending the Brougham with that sodium whatever crap they pour into the engine. THOSE WERE THE LAST REAL CADILLACS!

  • Move to Canada we have no stupid laws here, lots of old and vintage cars everywhere we dont chush em we embrace em

  • Yes, indeed, a beautiful machine! I bought an extensive model a 1/43, worth 2500 rubles in Russia (74 dollars)!Instead of gold)))

  • Keep that 'lac!

  • dude, there was some retard that brought in a 1985 Maserati for the cash for clunkers program, only had 18,480 miles on it. All leather and wood interior this thing was nice. Looked brand new, what a waste... definitely not cash 4 clunkers material.

  • The only people this would benefit is those who were going to buy new cars anyway, and had something in their back yard that wasnt running and to make out, took it to a dealership and got the 4200.00 opposed to 300 at a scrap yard. If a person had a running car and had been driving it , unless it was smoking and falling apart, taking it to a dealer and getting car payments is stupid. And if a person could afford a brand new car, chances are , they dont have a rust bucket in their back yard .

  • this is one of the last of the real cadillacs. the corvette motor and rear wheel drive kept it real. 4.6 northstar engine is junk because all they do is overheat.

  • Clunker

  • I would not give you $4,500 for that "CLUNKER" Obama!

  • 72% of all those who traded in their cars in the cash for clunker's program bought FOREIGN cars with the money! The cars which were destroyed were AMERICAN cars. Now, those cars which could have needed AMERICAN parts which would have kept AMERICANS working, are in the junk yards.

WHAT A RETARDED THING TO DO!

  • @cadrolls What that says to me is American car companies produce loads of future clunkers, whereas foreign companies do not.

But I agree. The program was not well thought-out, to say the least.

  • @lifeinhd The next time you are out and about, count how many foreign cars there are on the roads that are older than 20 years. Then count how many American cars of 20, 30, 40 and even 50 year's old. It is a myth that foreign cars are better. Japanese cars are LOADED with radiation from the failed nuclear plants there. German cars are over priced pieces of crap. They are in the repair shop more often than not with EXPENSIVE repairs. You save NOTHING by buying foreign. It's all a big LIE!

  • id never trade my truck in

  • Americans are stupid sheeple. The herd analogy is great! People now don't have a fucking brain in their fucking heads. Simple minded idiots that need someone to tell them what to think. It's all gonna crash soon because of the FED. Debt slaves is all we are.

  • Honestly if you could only afford to drive a car that qualified for C4C then how did you afford the gas, the MPG had to be pretty terrible to qualify, sub compacts and efficient vehicles didn't get crushed.

Not that they should have done C4C, but 'think about it' if you are buying a car thats getting less then 16 mpg how the fuck are you going to afford the gas to move the thing.

can't protect people from their own stupidity though.

  • I couldn't agree more, at first I thought this was going to be a explosion video, and I was going to weep at the sight of a Broughams being filled up with liquid glass... By the way, that is one REALLY nice Broughams you have there, it's hard to come by ones in such condition...

  • I have a car just like that but mine is a 1988

  • cash for clunkerz sukz

  • Here in VA there were a lot of nice rust free cars in the clunker lot. My friend at the Chevy dealer showed me a 91 Cadillac just like yours, triple black, a clean 87 Monte Carlo with 68000 miles, 92 Roadmaster wagon, Caprice, 89 Town car, all still looking well cared for, while these people bought new Aveos, and Cobalts.... It made me sick to see these cars get ruined. I still have my 93 Roadmaster sedan which is as clean as your Cadillac, and I will never trade it in!

  • ...and that all that metal went to China. Something about the devaluation of the US dollar and payment for debt owed to China. Not sure about that but the question begs to answered...where did all that metal go? Peace!

  • Well, the whole cash for clunkers deal, wasn't for getting crap cars off the road or even high milelage or bad running vehicles. My mother inlaw had a "clunker, 1994 Ford Escort with close to 150k and falling apart. That car wasn't a clunker in the eyes of the program because they said it did well on gas. But they will take a 1994 thru 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with the LT1 Corvette motor that get mid 20s and kill it. Makes no sense to me. I did hear however that it was a Chinese idea..

  • delta 88!!!

  • Dear j45007, if only more people had the common sense that you have, this country would be better!

  • you hit it right on...in the midst of the program...you called it...that program was a sham

  • Id have happily paid more than 4500 for most of the cars in that yard..

  • Nice Cadillac. How many people clicked this video thinking he was going to clunker it?

  • Guess what? 2 years later and the US automakers are up in sales 10-20%...guess you were wrong, huh!

  • never giving up my 96 LS400 NNNNNEEEEEVVVVEEEERRRRRR!

  • ford explorer have serious transmission problem thats why you see it a lot in the C4C and scrap yards!

  • btw, I really love your Caddy.

  • As someone who is basically poor and drives old cars out of necessity, not cuz it's cool, this sickens me. I would love to have any of those "clunkers". Must be nice to be rich enough to dump a decent car like those and buy a new one.

  • I agree! C4C was stupid. Not sure if they had anything like it here in canada but I hope not. BTW: That's a really nice Caddy :O

  • Nothing can beat an American car. Not even Mercedes. Friggin Jap shit.

  • @taker1z I know Mercedes isn't Jap.

  • You are 100% right !

By the way ,Nice Caddy !!

  • Its a sin how many very serviceable cars got destroyed by that stupid program.

  • the 1987-1992 Cadillac Brougham was assembled in

    Arlington, Texas

    Detroit, Michigan

  • NEVER BUY A CADILLAC FROM A MEXICAN, OR A NIGGER..

  • @DEVILWOMANXOX Your the nigger really.. Ignorant shit

  • and best of aaaaaall, its a cadillac! *ding*

  • you shoulda traded your ride in or give it to me ill take a few things off it and throw it away

  • your annoying stop posting vids and learn how to say brougham

  • @MrCaddiman Man you are a fucking douche bag

  • i genuinely almost cried when i saw that volvo

  • The whole cash for clunkers thing was a scam. Great cars with liquid death poured into their crankcases. I know hundreds of people that would have benefited from this program with the opportunity to purchase a low mileage late model car for cheap. This kind of shit makes me want to do bad things toward our government.

  • It is so true what you are saying, the prices went up during that program, I actually didn't buy new vans for my business as the dealers were having a hayday! By the way, most of the cars bought with that program weren't AMERICAN!!!!! Sone of those cars crushed broke my heard as well as some of those cars like the Lincoln, Caprice or Mercury get more then 20MPH city and about 28 on the highway in lconfort if you keep the car up for 200K troublefree miles

  • becuse of this bullshit cash for clunkers its hard to find a good Monte Carlo or Coupe de ville without paying up the ass cuzz NOW there are less of them around Fuck you Osama I mean OBAMA fuckin ONE TERM PREZZ dick !!!

  • Folks just don't know how valuable their stuff really is.

Thats why I'm keeping my '85 Regal coupe as long as I can for the joy of owning and driving something great.

Regardless of how old it is.

  • @eldo59 Amen! The government can have my 1992 Chevy S10 Blazer when they pry my cold, dead hands off of its steering wheel.

  • shoot,

im keeping my 1990 cadillac brougham......

  • The fact is some people in this country just hate everything about it. Obama is no different. He wants to dismantle it piece by piece. Cash for clunkers is part of that agenda. Like this guy says, these "clunkers" are the future rides of folks who can't afford to buy new ones. Destroying them removes them from the market thereby increasing the price of used cars. Obama care about his socialist agenda and he will throw anyone under the bus to that end.

  • Glad to see California plates. One of the things I remember about my visits to California in the early to mid 90s was all the Cadillacs and Lincolns I saw everywhere. A few years ago I was told everyone there drives Toyota or Lexus now. Not the California I remember.

  • i had this car only it was a 89

  • These limos are worth around $100,000 US dollars. I don't even know where to begin explaining how stupid and retarded these treehuggers people are.

  • Nice car

  • keep your cash, i love my clunker

  • Some of you guys are idiots, whomever traded in whatever car/truck they had made the personal choice to do so, Obama didn't put a gun to there heads and make them do it. If they really wanted to keep old american car heritage or tradition going, they easily could have sold the car themselves instead of being lazy and trading it in. Or, being that your that ate up about it, YOU should have bought the car from them!

  • pathetic moustache

  • pause at 8;17 theirs like a section right before the chrome light fixtures that is plastic its like right between the steel car body and chrome light fixtures do you no what its called and where can i get new ones

  • @TheKbg15 it's a rear taillight body filler

probably find them at the junkyard or ebay.

    wwwautobodyfillersusacom/servlet/Detail?no=20

  • @TheKbg15 here is one on ebay cgiebaycom/ebaymotors/1989-Cadillac-Rear-Blue-Tail-Light-Filler-Panel-Blue-L-/230403526339?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a51ecec3

  • @zbc407 yea i found some new ones at abs plastic auto body.com they sell the whole set do you still have your caddy?

  • why is it that cadillac put the ducks on the 80's emblem?

  • Too many tree huggers man, fuck the cash for clunkers program, stupid Obama!

  • @carntruckfreak4life, Amen!!

  • @j45007 man your cadillac is stylish, its good we have modern cars for daily driving because there reliable but nothing can replace one of these.

  • @carntruckfreak4life True, True, good sir! The great American land yacht is not something to smash :)

  • I would wager that the Cadillac Broughams of the 1990s and even the 1980s were better made cars than the Cadillac shown at that Dealership. Since when did Cadillac become nothing but a Euro-Jap looking sports car at the expense of luxury and the unique style that the Brougham embodies!!

  • Damn i feel bad for the 300ZX looked in good condition.

  • Help a few auto manufacturers. Help a few hundred car dealerships. Create thousands of defaulted loans from the idiots running to the dealerships to buy crap they can't afford. Operation "Push the debt onto the public": Successful.

  • I could not agree with you more, that was a waste of resources. All the good cars, destroyed all to be traded for small piles of shit. It makes me sick to see good vehicles crushed for what?/ some people like old cars, bc they are affordable and also what about the scrap yards, don;t they get cheated of parts? and also, what about auto restorers, where are they going to find parts? there are people that make a lving off of selling scrap parts.

  • 2:30 "lower the sales for 2010"

So first cash for clunkers, and we loose tons of usable cars for the used market

Then in 2010 we loose a bunch of car manufactures

  • im tryin to find a good car and cant find shit thax to this cash for clunkers cant even find a good car for 10 k are u kidding me thanx govt of the usa go jump in a lake

  • IN 97 I BOUGHT A 98 CAR PURE YANKEE THICK AS SHIT

  • Wow you have this 1991 Cadillac Brougham in perfect condition Nice.

  • I've got a beautiful 1992 Cadillac Brougham with 75,000 mi in white....Clunker? No way! I'm with you!

  • Our government has the brains of a worm's rear end....bunch of idiots

  • Wow all those cali cars are in great condition, but it really it saddens me to see all those beautiful "clunkers" wasted and all the people who were fooled into another selfish loop of more debt by our government...

  • Hey, you were right. Look at car sales now..... Dealerships look like they're almost empty!

  • Whoever turned in that Jeep Comanche Eliminator should be STONED,or they were.

  • you're a stupid... a cadillac is a good car not for clunkers but for re-sale

  • After all, its a real Cadillac not a new Plastillac. I made the mistake of buying a new truck, now im stuck with the payments for the next three years, grrr, worst idea ever, I didnt have any classic destroyed in the process at least!

  • Lancruiser at 7:26!!!!! WTF who would scrap that

  • nice video man, we had the same thing here in UK, Such a shame to see old classics destroyed..

  • no car today will match the quality and beauty of the Cadillac Brougham. my family had an 88. cash for clunkers pissed me off especially after seeing all those great cars and trucks in these damn lots

  • i agree w/ you. obama where is your sense at for doing this?

  • It's brokes my heart. This is a stupid thing, these are real cars and americans kill them for much money to get a brand new plastic shit. :(:(:(

  • haha Santa Rosa! Was not expecting that. That's my hometown. There up to 4 times a year.

  • @roytboga, Thats cool! Thanks for watching.

  • @roytboga. Really? Thats cool, thanks for watching.

  • @roytboga Do you want a cookie or a gold star, retardo?

  • The reason there were so many Fords and Lincolns is because they're all shit! And I'm a former FoMoCo man...I hate Ford products now, GM are all I'll buy for myself now for the last 10 years! I buy and sell lots of cars and I made the mistake in buying a Ford and a Mercury recently, fucking money pits...inferior parts underneath and inferior durability on fit and finish had to be replaced to make it salable!

  • i drive a 1984 an 1990 mercury gran marquis an they both get great mpg an i love them both the 84 just needs some body an paint work an a new radio but ill never get rid of my 90

  • why don't they just sell to the working poor then just be greedy and waste good stuff they willend up plooting more recyleing the cars it's just greed pigs that makes me mad

  • 8.06... was that a Jeep J-10 pickup in the cash for clunkers lot?... how could someone do such a thing... Dx

  • like lemmings off the cliff

  • I clicked because I thought I was going to see some idiot destroy a nice Caddy. Instead, I saw a guy make a lot of good points while driving a beautiful car.

Saludos David.

  • hey dude your are right about every thing u said and its tru to. am 17 years old and dude i was looking at all the nice car and trucks there was a 1990 or 93 dodge Dakota 4x4 and i think it had the 5.2 or 5.9 in it god i will love to have that truck but nope Obama told me no and he killed it :(. well ill thank you for posting this video and hey you have a vary nice car but it fun to drive end u must take good care if it. it looks new!!

  • Cash for clunkers = wealth re-distribution.

  • That Delta88 is a good car!!! Dont junk it!!!

  • Cash for Clunkers is just plain Terrible......wrecking a perfectly good car is one of the most idiotic things ever.

  • AMEN! good vid

  • Obama's a nigger...

  • Was that a bus I saw? Are you a bus owner operator?

  • This man is right! This is quality and beauty cars. What an insane program! In Sweden many people go to car meetings in summer to show their american cars. And people here love them!

  • @lookhear49 wow thats really cool man but dont worry there are still many great old American cars over here and they are getting even more popular lately. (new american cars)

  • seatsur car has seats to die for todays seats are hard and stiff

  • when you siad "will i be getting rid of it?" at the end....i was alittle afraid for a second, but i know u know better.trust me i know the quality too i got the same model 1991 but in black, thinking about maybe putting a video up for it....

  • AHHH!!! The Nissan 300ZX is a kick ass car! The Volvo 760 Turbo Intercooler is the car of my childhood and I would be more than willing to buy a new one, especially from California, the Westfalia is a collector's item worth a pretty penny especially in Canada... I wouldn't have been able to have walked in to that yard. By the way, I love your Cadillac!

  • Fuck you cash for clunkers, you ruined my hopes of finding a reasonably priced grand cherokee!!!

  • Very nice cadillac!

  • Maybe his Cadillac is in good condition and doesnt need money to fix up...I dont think this is a good argument. LOL

  • All of those cars in the fence are old and broke down. I know this guy isnt suggesting that we should buy old cars. I have spent so much money on old cars and I get nothing but problems lol

  • More of an oldsmobile fan myself - but thats a slick caddy...

  • can you tell me where you buy your broughams?

    pce

  • One the last true Caddy's. RWD and a land barge. CLosest thing left is the lincoln town car and thats scheduled to end next year.

  • How about we the American people "Cash for Clunker" Obama!

  • I,m glad you kept your Caddy they don't make them like that anymore.

  • Haha man Im sorry I didn't watch this when you put it out. It scared me, I thought you was killing a 1991 Brougham! Scary.

Ok I agree 100% with you, Cash for clunkers is and was a terrible program. So many people think its good except me.

Obama did nothing but stab the people he put in office right in the back with stupid programs like this.

His first bill was to increase taxation on cigarettes and rolling tobacco.

Who smokes and rolls tobacco? ;-) Case rested. lol

    Great video man. Ty

  • @Forgoten214 I thought he was killin' it too, which is why I didn't watch this video sooner. I was like "naaaaaah bruh! Whatchoo doin'? Whatchoo doin'!!??? NOOOOOOOO!!!!" ..lol. All politics aside, I love me some old school rides; you can still work on 'em and they have plenty of personality and "whip appeal", especially Cadillacs.

  • @incognitowun

Oh yea of course, I truly believe there will truly never be a Domestic car quite like a old school Caddy ever again.

Yea most are easy to work on especially the Brougham.

Although my 90 Deville is a pain in the ass to work on. lol. The engine bay is so confined you really can't reach anything in there.

I need to get me a Brougham soon.

So what kind of price am I looking at for a 90-92 Brougham 5.7? I was guessing around 5k for one in good condition.

  • Cash for clunkers are shit !! Again a stupid idea from Obama...

  • This project has hurt me a lot, I have the greatest admiration for the United States is because of old cars and full-sizes beyond the utilities and Sw .. V8 is my life, how many of us have not had our story linked from a V8. Destroyed a portion of American history, as well as September 11. Who is passionate about cars knows what I'm talking about, is an emptiness in my heart to know these things! If you agree that this program was a huge mistake, and we need to convince people not to do more so

  • Not alot of people got rid of their suburbans :), we kept our proud silverado :)

  • Omg this is making me so sad!! Most of those cars in that lot are great cars that I'd love to collect one day and they're all in great condition! A lot of these are worth more than $4500

  • I see like brand new suburbans and ford trucks and jeeps everywhere i go now its awesome :)

  • damn a 300zx, 2 nice clean green chevy trucks burban and blazer. the orange ford would be an excellent work truck! btw your engine bay is immaculate. the only thing i disagree with is the quality line, imo alot of the new cars are extremely reliable (if you take care of them) but that goes without saying for any car really. but you have a clean as hell car! keep at it man!

  • Its hurting me how all that buetifull cars standing there......

  • 2) I'm european and for the first time I see an american guy moving round a car park filming Delta 88's or old Caddies like I would, like I'll never see them again. And that's sad. Very sad. Looks like USA we all love are rusting away like that Olds. Revealing under its big chromy body a new pathetic Prius shape. I'm very sad. I can imagine how you americans will be

  • Man I subscribe just every single word you've said. And I can add 2 things:

    1) All those Explorers are all from people who've been convinced by actually everybody that if ya have an SUV you are a stupid, ignorant uncivilized bastard. And that's the most a) stupid b) undemocratic and communistic c) false! thing you can actually say.

  • What a stupid program and it didn't work anyway. Of course, our goverment loss a ton of money. I have a 1994 Mercury Marquis and 1983 Olds Delta 88, with regular maintance are great drivers. I can live with the mpg. Again, what a senseless program and how many useful cars were destroyed. Thank you Mr. Obama...

  • @crazze6163, That 1983 olds?? It must have the 307 V8...thats a damn good motor....dont get rid of that one! Thanks, -BOGAR!

  • @j45007 Yep! 307, was my parents car. 72,500 miles. Paint is weak but looking good for 27 yrs young. Car is all original. Only things replaced was water pump, fuel pump and carb. thru the years. A/C still blows cold. Proving if you take care of something it will last. Not getting rid of it anytime soon. My wife loves the car.

  • @crazze6163, Yes...i have a 307 in my 1983 Buick LeSabre... and i have 337,000 miles and counting! No rebuild to date and none in the near future judging by the way it runs! And i dont pamper the car and i went 25,000 miles no oil or filter change recently but its all changed now, i am not light on the pedal, i nail it at the light if i feel like it, i drive it in stop and go city traffic often, i take it on long trips several times a year, recently mexico...last week. Cont. ---->>>>

  • @crazze6163, ---->>>So it is very true that taking care of your car will extend the life of it.....but with some engines such as our 307's....we dont have to be as meticulous because they are very durable engines. So as i said...DONT get rid of it. If you do, let me know...I know what to do with it! And by the way...i have owned and driven my Buick for the last 13 years...i am the second owner. Thanks for commenting. -BOGAR!

  • @crazze6163 It's creating as much or more pollution. when they floor it for however long they're pumping out like 3 years worth of emissions plus the totaled engines are just piling up in junkyards

  • "After all it s a Caddilac" You speak the whole truth man people od need to wake up. Its sad to see how man of those cars weren't even that bad. Its horrible to think that they are all gone now. Keep talkeing man im listening. Clean ride to what do u use to keep the engine so clean

  • @lionelnut69 I'm with ya on that. I have two older rides too, a 93 Caddy Seville 4.9L (my first Caddy at 36 years old) and a 98 Expedition; good clean reliable powerful cars that I take good care of that are worth more to me than any stupid program, and I'll never get rid of 'em! Plus, I need to find me a BROUGHAM, too; 1990-1992 if my wife will let me have two Caddies..

  • Ford Explorers where in fact one of those cars that was tradet in the most to the Cash for Clunkers program. It's a shame, they kill all those good cars that I myself like, Bronco's, F150's, Cherokee's, Grand Cherokee's, Cadillac's, Explorers and I have even seen videos of nice European cars likes BMW's and a Jaguar XJ8 that was killed. It really did hurt to watch.

  • My aunt and Uncle did this. Not alot of brain power...

  • Wake up America ! your government does not care about you. Brainwashed and brainwashed. I bet you still have a big american flag out in your front yard. Your country falls apart, the economy goes down the toilet they spend Billions on war. you get no health care. "they do not give a shit about you" ! Yet you have it crammed down your throat that you live in the best country in the world. It's like one big cult.

  • I totally agree with you man.... cash for clunkers is a waste of our tax money!! If people want to be morons with their money they can go right ahead... but not on my dime!! Tell you the truth- I've got a '92 Cadillac Brougham D'Elegance (granddad bought it new!) and when I was at a local dealer all the salesmen were walking around my Caddy admiring it and one even asked to sit in it and start it up!! Yet we were surrounded by new Caddy's!! My 18 year old car was the star of the show!!

  • WHAT THE HELL? Is that a pre-84 Land Cruiser??? Even without an engine, the clean body would be worth quite a bit.

And that clean pre 91 Suburban isnt a huge loss, but regardless would love to have one. Im sure both of these rides were picked clean at the junkyard!

  • @austinaubinoe I thought I saw an old school Land Cruiser, too..somebody needs their asses kicked for that one..

  • How can some people give such beautiful cars to the scrap yard? My heart is bleeding at the sight of these beautiful cars on this yard. This is really sad. What a mess :(

  • @pkanzow i know im german too,i am deeply asshamed of our ideology.

first the third reich now this

    we are destructive head jods

to all the old cars im sorry

  • OMFG volvo 760 turbo are u fucking me!!!!!

I want that car....... id pay over 4500 for that car. what a waist of an awesome car.

  • Your vat is stunning but remember but everyone is trading in atencion car of the same quality and class as yours.many people traded in awful vans crappy suvs and other random non classic cars.

  • Not just only in America, Here over in not so Great Britain weve got a scrappage scheme where they give you 2000GBP for your old motor,

the sad thing is these too cant go back on the road, and many of them are modern classics with a much higher value,

a governments way of trying to get out of financial deficits, by hitting the tax payer once again,,,

  • Only in America? No, it was a German idea and as a German I honestly apologize. What a b***sh*t !

  • this program has scared me for life . i will never forget the waste of good cars . NEVER ! i work hard to keep cars on the road ! i cannot and will not EVER vote for any democrat no mater how wonderful he or she is ......for the rest of my life

  • your caddilac is amazing. agree with stuff you said. shit did not hit the fan yet... it will hit it in 2-3 years... then we have a new boom ressetion as people wount be able to pay out not houses, but cars.

  • can i buy clunkers from the dealer? or do they HAVE TO destroy em?

  • FUCK CASH FOR CLUNKERS!a bunch of bullshit,i just keep riding clean!oldschool

  • Bro, the way you break down the C4C program in this video is simply brilliant! Even though its been a year now since they stopped this hideous waste, I'm still grieving over all the great cars that were lost. Keep up the good work.

  • fuck cash 4 clunkers i bought my 1990 cadillac brougham 4 a 1000 runs good off da street da owner want 1320 for it

  • that isnt no ffn lie! you have a real caddy chrome bumpers on steel support with shock absorbers! my god are those poepl smoking something trading those clean body cars in. sorry but most of those trucks they could have got 5-6k from an individual. dumb people supporting out f****d up government!

  • LUV THE CADDY(very clean!!!)

  • bunch of the clunkers I seen destroyed are Commercial vehicles, which would be useful for business.

  • a herd mentality? lol. more like lemmings jumping off a cliff. over a year after cash for clunkers ended, im still driving my 91 cavalier and my 89 camaro. i did a head gasket to the cavalier, cost me less than $200 for the parts which included a new water pump and ignition wires. car now has 163K miles on it and runs like new still. try that with a newer car. the reason why i bought a cavalier is because i drive allot and its fuel efficient. yes a 91 can be fuel efficient.

  • @ad356 Fuel efficient cars have been made ever since the 1950 ies. Back in the late 1970 ies I had a Morris Marina 1.3 litre 57 bhp, that gave 36.5 miles to the gallon. Show me a contemperary 1.3 litre engine that can match that. That car weighed in at 960 kgs dry weight. A similar car today will weigh in att over 1 200 kgs. That along with all the other stuff that goes in, costs fuel - and there are so much more that can go wrong. An old car can in some cases have a better total economy ;)

  • i saw a few cash for clunkers at my ford dealer that were written on windshield "clunker" and then a few weeks later I saw them clean up and on the "value" used car lot at same dealer...I guess they just told people they were getting 4500 for their trade and pretended thats where the car was going..I guess the dealer was just using rebates and shit just to make the trade..

  • cash for clunkers pisses me off. Try finding a good cheap used car now...GOOD LUCK! everything under 3000 has been scrapped.

  • @iluvbuickgnx Not only has it dried up the used cars but it has killed finding used parts. I've got a nice 95 ford escort with a broken control arm. Not one to be found. I have to buy a new one at $150
