Thank you so much for this most romantic and sumptuous ballad. It's evergreen. It will never sound out of date. Debarge's high notes remind me young Kate Bush's voice. My other favourite version of this song is by the Queen of Ballads, Nancy Wilson. Nancy Wilson's vesion of this is more dramatically beautiful and so moving and emotional in the way she phrases the lyrics.

DeBarge gave the greatest gift anyone could ever have given.. the ability to write songs that convened the power of love for us to enjoy and to share that with someone else in our lives. It's too bad the crack wars and gang culture has infested our music with it's emphasis on violence, hate, and sexual perversity and lack of compassion for our fellow man. I don't have the answers but maybe more exposure to beauty will help our children regain their innocence from a cruel world.
