As a long time 311 fan, I can hinestly say that this album is a HUGE improvement over Evolver and DTOM! Like Transistor, there is not a clear-cut "hit" on Uplifter, so it might not strike clearly at first listen, but give it some time....it's truly a great album. And for those who criticize the lyrics, remember, 311 used to sing "Eat smoked fish, that is my favorite dish"...so, content is not the problem, as much as the songs probably need to be vairied more (all seem to be about love).

Yeah! Well, I already started playing an electric, but it's different when you go to playing acoustic. I have been having trouble learning how to play and I'm thinking that the acoustic playing skills are the missing key.

I'm a self taught player so ymmv, however, I find myself playing acoustic much more often and going back to playing electric, I've found it is much easier to hit chords and notes accurately since the board plays much faster. Good luck learning your instrument!
