  • "For models with hair, it doesn't tend to get in between the strands of hair."

    The solution:

    BALD MODELS!!!!

  • wow! thanks! so easy and simple!

  • i dont know if it is just me or does he start speaking a bit faster towards the end?

  • Ack! I didn't know about the refine feature... Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

  • Nicely executed!

  • If there was a love button I would have definitely clicked it lol! Great job!

  • this video is fine...finally the plug in is better

  • I HATE MODELS WITH HAIR! THEY ARE SO HARD TO PHOTOSHOP!!!!

  • Ok, finally. Someone who has a god tutorial that shows how to remove fine hair!

  • Very nice video! I do need some help though. I would be very grateful if you can show me how to use flash interactively. I have watched many videos on this subject but none seem to show me how exactly to do what I need to do.

I would like to be able to learn how to use the colorpicker option so I can let my customer choose the color he wants on his boat.

Basscat and Nitro bass boat websites have this functionality.

Can you assist me with a tutorial?

    Thank you in advance.

  • are you not aware of the contiguous option on the magic wand? the other ways are a lot better anyway but it sounded like you didn't know about contiguous.

  • favorited this video

  • i have an ideea ^^ let your wife do 1 tutorial :D

  • thanks so much! that whole process was killing me

  • @ECCIN11 how did you find the samme brush as in the video, when i open the brush palet, its a few ugly brushes only displayed, soo when i say reset brushes, still only very few and ugly brushes, Please help me display all of them :)

It would mean alot :) Thanks :D Taliking about the RAIN TUT

  • Perfecto

  • Buen video que ayuda bastante a simplificar una tarea habitual

  • the magic wand does have a contiguous check box so you can select things that arent attached

  • Hey man, this is actually SUPER helpful. Thanks a lot for the tutorial! :D

  • beautiful teef 2:17

  • That was really helpful man. Thanx

  • yellow teeth :D

  • there is no problem with the commercial, i know tubetape from its owner, mark apsolon, i have watched a few tutorials on youtube how to greenscreen movies. if u try video editing not just photoshop you will for sure bump into a tubetape commercial, they sell great stuff for chroma keying

  • 9/10 people said they will never eat McDonald's again after seeing the truth about their food in this video -->

  • can you torrent plugins also?

  • as always, awesome job!

  • The magic wand tool only collects the color that is directly connected to the area you click if you set it that way. Uncheck "Contigous" at the top and Magic Wand will select that color from across the whole image in just one click. It's still not as good as the other methods shown in this example, but I thought I'd bring it up for future reference.

  • @zenithjcoke thanks!

  • Thank you so much. :D You solved one of my problems, always wondered where this tool was.

  • @IceflowStudios

What is the best average "Fuzziness" percentance?

And thanks at all for your uploads!

  • @Trelos1Epistimonas2 That depends on your photo. What you want to do is make sure that all of the solid colour background is white on your monochrome preview, that there are no patches of black anywhere on the solid colour background and that there is no white on the subject/model. Just play around with the settings until you have the best selection.

  • I personally just paint over the colour contaminated hair with a soft paintbrush of the same hair colour on the "colour" opacity option. Although I'm using GIMP 2. You can obviously do this aswell. (I spelled colour right. I'm Canadian.)

  • Take care.

  • thx a lot!

  • Great Video

  • Alas, this is perfect for cutting out renders.

  • THANK YOU! I have a pet photo shoot in a couple of days, you just made my day :D

  • @Xcqtr good luck ;)

  • I have learn so much because of you. Thank you! keep it coming!!

  • You are great ! I have learn so much because of you. Thank you! keep it coming

  • Dah, I regret buying photoshop elements 7. there are so much feature that you use and that I don't have, like color range =(

  • To be honest I see no point in the color range selection method. I use it myself but if you think about it, its useless.. you can just uncheck "contiguous" when using the magic wand tool...

  • Well, bald models are ugly

  • Yet another great video that de-mystifies some of the features in Photoshops arsenal.

Well done Howard! Please keep up the outstanding work dude.

  • All of youre videos are always so helpful. As a Graphic Design student who will be going to University, im glad that youre videos as are as easy and simple to learn and offer advanced and insightful methods that will prove very useful to me in my studys and projects. Thankyou so much!

  • MORE VIDS!!!!!! its been tooooo long since your last vid, nice to see u again :)

  • Is there a way to do this for example if there is more than 1 color in the background?

  • meh too complicated...easier solution is just shave the models hair and you're good to go

  • the photokey plugin selected her teeth when it was on green LOL

  • it would be easier chroma keying models without hair.

  • yay! a new vid! thanks!

  • THANK YOU !!!!! This is why a LOVE you !

  • i love u

  • why did part of her teeth dissappear when he selected the green

  • really nice tutorial...!

  • LOVE YOUR VIDEOS :D :D :D :D

  • how do you make a selection, and then ADD another selection to your selection with the magic wand tool? which button do i have to hold?

  • @XZibittt I think its shift

  • awesome tips

    thanks so much sir

    keep up good work

    god bless you :-)

  • Nice Fast Easy Thanks Dude It Really Is Ganna Help People But If Your Ganna Do It Try And Spend More Time On It :D

  • There are easier ways to do this i think ;)

  • @TheFashionistaSims

And thats the great ting of photoshop, to do 1 thing you have multi option on how you do it

  • @TheFashionistaSims feel free to share I'd say..

  • Awsome! Really needed this! Thanks a lot! :D <3

  • Sincerely use green or blue as a background for a photograph is not the best option at all. Generally we use white, not just because the result in terms of colors is much more effective, but also because Photoshop allows some really great features which well combined we can get amazing and top notch results.

I can't give you the link because this comment would be considered as spam, by the way, visit Phototuts, search for "hair" and watch "The Perfect Technique for Masking Hair".

    Tks 4 sharing

  • @drekw2 Hey, I just visited the site & watched the tutorial. Thanks for that, I'm always interested in learning different techniques, cheers.

  • @SeeBillyRun Hey, thanks very much for your comment! Please subscribe my channel and take a look on that. Cheers

  • the plugin is nice, but only really needed for professional photographs, after all, what person got a blue wall at home? XP

  • @Kibate you can take a blue or green or red cloth long enough :)

  • @Kibate i do

  • THANK YOU SO SO SO much !!!!!

  • 2:20 I was like "WTF happened to her teeth!"

  • @twistereli 2:20; Colgate!

  • man your amazing <3

  • is this your wife

  • These tutorials are gold! Hope they never disappears from Youtube! :-)

  • @GigaBoost You're getting great and FREE tutorials. Why are you complaining? He needs to make a living as well.

  • @adni0917 Getting paid to make a review doesn't produce unbiased reviews and it will lead to iceflow promoting crappy products for pay and passing them onto us.

I do like the tutorials though, really.

  • @GigaBoost I wouldn't say anything he has promoted is a crappy product. And it didn't affect the review the slightest. He showed us all the normal methods and then added another commercial alternative to the end.

And if he does not get paid, how will he continue to produce and publish free tutorials for us?

  • I would have liked to see how that Refine Edges result would have turned out if you tossed her in another image. The last one, there is obvious blue in her hair, so I'm assuming you used that photokey plugin. This very good, but not of interest since I don't have a green or blue screen.

  • lol, there are plugins available that can do this without a green screen; ie, from normal backround..

  • holy shit dude, you totally sound like Blane from Hot Tub Time Machine lol

  • thank you for this tutorial! removing backgrounds has always been an issue for me, but this helped a lot! and it's great to have you back :)

  • Wow cool way but the hair still looks unrealistic IMO, that is cause hair has transparency, its transparency does not show up when tangled and in one, but on individual hair it does, so you should have erased with some 30% transparency the part of the hair that flows, other than that great!

  • @mssssee i believe he did this picture on purpose to show how great new plug in is ^_^

  • So amazing :3

  • wait wait wait.... "Siemens?" Awesome ad before before this vid XD

  • I think she had something caught in her teeth at 2:18.

  • WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!! HAVING A LIFE IS NO EXCUSE! lol

  • nice commercial for tubetape. Make the money

  • Oh how I missed that voice in Photoshop tutorials! =)

    Great tutorial.

  • all of the model is not fully black lol

  • sick, good tip!

  • where have you been!!!!

  • This is awesome! Thanks Howard! You rock!!

  • Lol "Models with hair" They don't come up much but when they do they're a hassle to deal with. With all that hair and stuff.

  • @BruckThatsMe hehehe :D

  • @BruckThatsMe: when he say model i think is generic for images, not about the profession.

  • Oh thats sweet! This is very helpful XD

  • wow, that is awesome, thank you for sharing. I was wondering how I could chroma key.

  • Thanks. Very helpful.

  • ooh this is much faster. i normally use the extract filter.

  • Great tutorial! I wish you made them more often! :)

  • your so helpful! DFTBA

  • this always works Great on tutorials...back at home, its gets much tougher .. :\

  • HEY, you know if you uncheck 'contiguous' it does what the color range tool does, right?

  • It's such a shame. One of my favorite Youtubers is now surrounded by sponsors. Congratulations and all but, first it was Pixmac now TubeTape next there are going to be commercials in the photos you manipulate/retouch/tutorialize. :( Nevertheless keep up the good work.

  • Dude, thank you so much! Using magic wand could be such a pain sometimes. I don't have CS5, but this was still super helpful!

  • Models with hair. They're always a problem. ;)

  • @booyaka3 they're best when they're bald :')

  • @purpleheartsxi They sure are! :D

  • your videos always get the job done

  • Thanks, I guess she is your wife :p

  • Greaaaaaat video! It can be really frustrating getting the selection that I want, this helps immensely!! (I'm somewhat new to Photoshop still). Thank you so much! Thumbs up, fav!

  • thanks man!

  • hey thanks

  • Extration filter was better... i don't know but i can still see blue in her hair. its better then the wand but only slightly.

  • omg thank you soooooo much...if i can double sub you i would have done it O.O

  • @ochalal3 make another account and sub to him

  • WOOOHOOO NEW VIDEO :D!!!

  • awesome man! thanks!
